Nutrition coaching is a great option for those willing to help people with their eating habits. If you have been through a fat loss transformation yourself or have years of expertise on the basics of nutrition, it is perfectly normal to invest in a coaching career… and while there isn't a formal education to become a nutrition coach, you certainly should be certificated. It's also good to know that you cannot (or should not) prescribe someone a diet protocol, but you can always guide your client through good advice and give them the right tools in order to assist them through their goals. In this episode of the Nutrition Coaching Secrets Podcast, Jason gives you the do's and dont's of nutrition coaching and what it really takes to get into this field. In this episode you will learn: What you can and cannot do when working as a nutrition coach for people wanting to change their body composition; How you can get into online nutrition coaching, and what types of education & certifications you need in order to have clients; The difference between the scope of practice of a nutritionist and a nutrition coach (Advice vs. prescription). If you have an online business created to help people understand their nutrition, eating habits and fitness abilities you know what coaching is all about. What most people don't know is that coaching has nothing to do with converting new clients. Converting people in your audience into paying clients starts with your initial offer so step away from the mentality that you need to focus on coaching and start focusing on offer creation. In this NCI & Mind Pump collab, you will listen to the whole discussion about product and service creation, how to guarantee results for your clients, how to differentiate yourself from other coaches, and much more… Tune in! In this episode you will learn: The importance of focusing on the results the client will get instead of the process you will take them through; How to create a unique business model, setting yourself apart from the hundreds of fitness & nutrition coaches out there; Jason sheds some light on how coaches need to stop selling coaching, and start paying attention to offer creation; How to create an offer that actually converts new clients. In this episode of the Nutrition Coaching Secrets podcast, you will listen to another online training hosted by Jason where he explains the importance of having a system that works and how to develop one. The first step to get results for clients is to have a compelling offer, turn that offer into something irresistible and unique, and charge the corresponding amount of its worth – which you know is a lot. By answering questions and giving specific details, Jason also talks about client nurture frameworks, converting sales calls, how to collect leads through written content and Facebook groups, and how to combine all of this into a coaching machine that creates money independently and works completely by itself. Tune in! In this episode you will learn: How to come up with a coaching offer that is simple, compelling, and different from what all the other nutrition and fitness coaches are implementing right now; The exact methods to develop a “coaching machine” that combines the product or service you offer, the content you share with your audience, and the content you share to grow your audience; Why you don't think you can guarantee results for your clients and how you need to look at your initial offer to fix that; Why you need to subvert the expectations of the person you are having a sales call with, and finally turn the person into a paying client Connect with me! So, you have a goal, you are mentally prepared and physically ready to start a diet, and everything is in place to start, but… how do you know how long the diet will last? How do you know when it's time to stop the diet phase? Despite being a tricky question, it's much easier to give up the “starting/stopping” notion and start facing it as a lifestyle. In this episode, Jason explains the concept of seasons and how you can implement it depending on your goal and on the timeline to hit that goal. In this episode you will learn: How to switch the mentality of “diet” and turn it into “lifestyle”, and how you can adjust your goal (weight loss, strength gain, muscle mass gain, etc) using the concept of “seasons”. The human body, despite being very adaptable, was not made to be super lean or to lose a big amount of fat. Its primary goal is to keep functioning no matter what. When you enter a sustainable fat loss phase, your metabolism will regulate itself, focusing mainly on survival. At the same time, a super restricted diet will also influence the metabolism – that's why an individual eating too little will have trouble burning fat. In this episode, Jason explains the concept of metabolic alteration, metabolic damage, and how you can recover from it with the right tools. In this episode you will learn: What a super restricted diet will do to your metabolism and why it's so important to consider all the variables when entering a fat loss phase. Connect with me! A sustainable and enjoyable diet philosophy includes social life and drinking alcohol from time to time. However, that doesn't mean we should ignore its calories and not actually track the macros. Considering that 1 gram of alcohol equals 7 calories, it should be an easy thing to do to add this number to your caloric intake and make the required changes. In this episode, Jason teaches you the exact right way to track alcohol without abandoning your fitness goals. In this episode you will learn: How you can track alcoholic drinks and how to make the total calories derived from these drinks fit in your daily caloric intake. Connect with me! When setting up our total daily caloric intake to help us lose fat and maintain muscle mass, it's really important to know our starting point. If you eat too little you won't get results, if you eat above your maintenance level, it's not good either… So, how do you find balance? How to find the most accurate number of calories that your body needs in order to start burning fat? In this episode, Jason gives you the most used formulas and methodologies to use with yourself or to help your coaching clients. In this episode you will learn: What are the right methods you should be applying with yourself and with clients to help with fat loss, muscle gain, and body composition change overall. While fat loss can be a simple journey when following through consistently, there are a lot of myths revolving around the fat loss process. One of the most common mistakes people make is assuming that there are specific foods, or types of foods, that have the power to eliminate fat from the body just by being consumed. In this episode, Jason explains why this misconception occurs and what you can do to actually start reaching your fat loss goals. In this episode you will learn: The context behind an actual fat loss process, What actions need to be taken in order to achieve success, and How the myth of “food to burn fat” is a misconception for a lot of people Connect with me! When it comes to nutrition and eating habits, two models of professionals can assist you in some way: a Nutritionist and a Nutrition Coach. In this episode, Jason explains the difference between these two professionals and the work methods of each one. In today’s episode, fitness coach Brandt Gess explains how his clients have been successful with his 4 Phase Fat Loss protocol. With being the most stressed out nation, we wreck our internal physiology and energy balance with all that we do to our bodies on a daily basis. Pair that with having one of the largest diet crazed countries focused on staying in a calorie deficit, which actually sets us up for gaining extra fat. Having a calorie deficit causes more imbalance of energy, which then wrecks hormones, and causes people to have a hard time losing fat. That’s how Brandt came up with his 4 Phases of Fat Loss. The Repair Phase, Improvement Phase, Prepare Phase, and Acceleration Phase make up the 4 phases of Brandt’s successful program. Jason and Brandt discuss in depth details of each phase, how lifestyle can affect each phase, and creating consistency and success within each phase. We are human beings. As hard as we can put in the work we absolutely must rest in proportion. Recovery is fundamentally necessary for any kind of growth. Here's the truth - there are facts and there are stories. Two people can look at the same thing and see two totally different things, one looks at the facts and one looks at the story they want to believe. Where are you doing that? Where are you fabricating stories to justify uncomfortable truths? I would be willing to bet that if you examined your life more than one of these areas will rise to the surface, but this is a good thing! Stop letting ignorance run the show just to create a false sense of bliss. Connect with me on Instagram @jasonphillipsisnutrition
Don't mess up too bad. Guarding against catastrophe instead of actively achieving success. Sound familiar? Is that approach to areas of your life hitting close to home? Do you even know what you are actively trying to pursue? I often say that when it comes to success and fulfillment we often are asking the wrong questions. If you stay on the offense you will stay achieving, even if you fall short you have made more progress than if you stayed playing it safe the whole time. Being just okay is bullish*t. Who hasn't battled imposter syndrome? I sure as hell have in most walks of my professional life; in coaching, in golf, in a lot of things. I worried about what others in my industry would think about me, how they might judge me... them, them, them. I think this is a sign that you truly care about your craft but there is a deeper lesson - you need to accept your gift and step into your calling. The 'all in' approach is one I take in all areas of my life, specifically when it comes to the fitness and nutrition journey. This is a journey that can be, and usually is, tiring. But it is through recognizing what is draining us and where are we tired, but not tired enough to make change? What extreme circumstances will it take to push you to that limit? The choice is yours to fix things that are broken or continue to put up with them. Connect with me on Instagram @jasonphillipsisnutiriton
