Creating and Keeping Business Fitness is a Key Enabler for Scaling-up. This would mean creating and maintaining People Fitness, Functional Fitness, Market Fitness and avoiding Fat in the belly! People Fitness happens when we have the Right People in Right Roles. Businesses need to manage the current and emerging role requirements pro-actively, nurturing, developing and acquiring talent in a conscious way. Functional fitness is making sure that each function in the Business are fit-enough to meet and fulfil Scaling-up objectives. For example, the Marketing function is fit enough in terms of its capabilities, processes, and resources to execute the promotional strategies; The Operations function is fit-enough in terms of its competencies, technologies and processes to manage the volume, quality, costs, defects and so on. Market fitness is ensuring a proper Product - Market fit for our Products or Services on an ongoing basis. Often, alongside the Scaling-up - which leads to processing increased volumes across the business - also arises a tendency to accumulate fat, in the form of redundancies, inefficiencies, wastage, and duplication; usually in all wrong places. It's important that the business keeps a constant vigil to avoid them, and maintain agility, efficiency and effectiveness in all its business operations. Business Fitness leads to Excellence in Execution. Creating and keeping ‘Business Fitness' is thus a key enabler in a scaling-up process. Is my business fit enough? My name is PK Narayanan, wishing you the best! Thank you #ceo #leadership #scaleup --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/pk-narayanan/message
Initial note for the podcast: Meditation is not the goal of life just like business isn't just like sports isn't just like anything else isn't even having kids or being in a relationship none of it is the goal of life! It's all part of life. When I talk about practicing meditation or as I would prefer to call it “sitting down shutting up and not moving for a bit” is about accessing or achieving a certain state because you can, because you have the ability to do so! Because you are iam we are human we are a capable of this thing called meditation or transcendence, it's a possibility is this form that we are in, so when I talk about it it is just about that I feel like if I want to live fully I have to practice it I have to benefit from that practice I have to go to that state to that unknown destination consciously otherwise I feel like life is a circle of the same lovely shit! Survival and procreation, and improving our tools of survival and our space of procreation is not enough for me as an understating of life that's why meditation, or better that's why “sitting down, shutting up, not moving for a bit”…more in the podcast. “THE TALK”: a 2 hour meditative audio journey with me that represents the inner dialogue we have during meditation (sitting still, shutting up, not moving for a bit) and in other everyday actions. THE TALK offers quick answers to fundamental introspective life questions and hence provides us with enough life clarity to make better decisions and to have a consistent meditation practice. With a strong WHY there are infinite HOW TOs https://vitalymeditation.gumroad.com/l/thetalk youtube.com/@vitalymeditation Instagram.com/vitalymeditation Twitter.com/vimeditation tiktok.com/@vitalymeditation

LEGION SPONSOR: I'd like to thank the sponsor of this podcast, the #1 brand of all-natural sports supplements in the world - Legion Athletics. If you don't know, I have been contacted and pitched many supplements in my day. This is not new to me. But Legion are my people, beyond the supplements themselves, I freaking love that they are Scientifically-backed ingredients and doses. They have 100% Formula Transparency. You can LITERALLY check the scientific studies and literature behind each product, the ingredients and dosages used. 100% Naturally Sweetened and Flavored. So, there's no extra crap. Friend, trust me when I say you'll want a notebook as you listen to this one. Today I'm sitting down with my friend, Erika Hermsen of Sweat Inspire Sisterhood, and I know you're going to have so many takeaways from this episode. Not only has Erika changed my life (no joke) with her at-home fitness and nutrition programs that are perfect for small-town women with limited access to gyms, but she has grown a business and community like no other I've ever been part of. Erika's mission is to help women in small towns live their best life. With her programs she helps busy women sweat daily with at-home workouts and nutrition programs. No gym equipment is necessary, just dumbbells, a yoga mat, and you're in! In addition to the live workouts and library of hundreds of prerecorded trainings on the app, you get access to the Sisterhood Facebook group, a chance to win prizes from women-owned Midwest businesses, and weekly meal plans and healthy recipes delivered straight to your inbox. The fitness results are great, but the confidence and connections that result are a game changer. I love that in the years she's been in business, Erika has moved across the country from large cities to suburbs and small towns, but in those transitions, she's never lost sight of her mission to reach women where they are via their online platform. And as she's grown, she's brought other women on her team and supported women-owned small businesses by sharing them on her platform and incorporating their products into Sisterhood giveaways. Erika's is a business that leads with heart, and throughout the episode I hope you can see and hear the respect I have for her as a business owner and friend. Enjoy this one, my friends! Key Takeaways The best businesses start by listening to the needs of the people you help. S.I.S. started when Erika moved cross-country and her former fitness clients asked for a way to stay connected and receive coaching online. As her business has evolved and grown, she hasn't forgotten this core tenant, and she continually adjusts to the needs and requests of the Sisters. The best business growth happens organically. Women tell their friends who tell their sisters who tell their coworkers and can grow via word of mouth. Play the long game with your business and adopt new methods and technologies as they develop. Start that app, incorporate video trainings, etc. and use it to help enhance your visibility and customer experience. Be innovative. Just like a traditional gym, Erika has other registered coaches and instructors on her team who can lead classes in specialized areas. “The only way to truly grow is to bring in help.” Business owners can't wear all the hats forever. When the time is right, find those areas that drain your energy or don't fall into your skillset and hire help to supplement those aspects of your business. When hiring, the #1 thing to look for is trust. Trust the person you are bringing on board, and they will help you reach your business goals. Community is what it's all about in social media and real life. Supporting small businesses directly impacts the lives of people in your small town and the economy. Join the Sisterhood! If you want to have the guidance of a coach, the accountability of a group of supportive women, and the convenience of doing all this from home, check out Sweat Inspire Sisterhood! At the beginning of each month the Sisterhood has a 7-day free challenge so you can have a test run or you can dive in and join the program! Jennifer Kipphut has been a bartender, a Coppertone sample girl, a child protective investigator, a social worker and a management consultant. At 39, she finally figured out what she wanted to be when she grew up and now she is a personal trainer and nutrition coach. We talk about three f words: fear, failure and fortitude. Keep in mind, "people who accomplish the most in life are the ones who fail the most."Health and wellness has always been a part of her life in one way or another. She truly loves the role she plays in her clients' lives. She loves seeing their transformations, and she is not talking about body composition, she loves watching their confidence grow as they find their own inner athlete! As a personal and small group trainer, she specializes in working primarily with women who are interested in embracing their bodies and building physical strength and mental fortitude. Her goal is to make personal training and fitness accessible to everyone. Exercise just isn't about movement it's about testing your limits and breaking down the wall of "cant's." This isn't about vanity, this is about confidence and growing. We talk taking risks, knowing when to move on, extending grace, and about her philanthropic involvement with rare blood disorders.
