Twenty-three years after he murder, a grand jury was convened, and two years after that Skakel was finally indicted for the crime. He was sentenced to 20 years to life. Skakel was then granted a new trial in 2013, however, based on mistakes by his trial lawyer, and remained free since, after posting a $1.2 million bond. Sixteen months ago, the Connecticut Supreme Court reinstated the conviction, but then reversed itself and granted Skakel freedom. So if Skalel didn't do it, who did?
