Welcome to another episode of Death Don't Do Fiction, the AIPT Movies podcast! The podcast about the enduring legacy of our favorite movies! This February we're continuing our new “Fast February” series, where we cover the movies that made Vin Diesel a star and taught the world to live their lives one quarter mile at a time, The Fast & Furious franchise! In this week's episode, Alex, Tim, and returning guest Bill Mueller discuss 2003's awkward attempt to recapture the magic of the surprisingly successful first movie, 2 Fast 2 Furious! An incredible title! Those silly visor hats! Pepsi and NOS product placement! Trying to pick up girls during a dangerous undercover mission! A Sound Designer-approved audio mix! Loud, somewhat gaudy visuals thanks to that clumsy early thousands aesthetic! A possible influence on the Wachowskis' Speed Racer movie! A larger budget but a less tangible story with somehow even cringier lines! A third act you'll barely remember! The introduction of characters who would go on to be staples of the series! John Singleton trying his hand at directing a silly blockbuster! Race obstacles that would lead to expensive automotive repairs! A great car jump stunt that's wasted due to poor editing and unnecessary visual effects! A cast that includes a returning Paul Walker, James Remar, Eva Mendes, a pre-Yellowstone Cole Hauser, Mark Boone Junior, Devon Aoki, Ludacris, and Tyrese Gibson starting out as somewhat of a Dom Toretto wannabe before finding his character as the movie goes on! The entry of the series with possibly the least sense of "family," you never realized you could miss Vin Diesel so much! In addition, Alex shares his spoiler-free thoughts on Crime 101, Psycho Killer, and the original Hunger Games quadrilogy! You can find Death Don't Do Fiction on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts. As always, if you enjoy the podcast, be sure to leave us a positive rating, subscribe to the show, and tell your friends! The Death Don't Do Fiction podcast brings you the latest in movie news, reviews, and more! Hosted by supposed “industry vets,” Alex Harris and Tim Gardiner, the show gives you a peek behind the scenes from two filmmakers with oddly nonexistent filmographies. You can find Alex on Twitter, Bluesky, or Letterboxd @actionharris. This episode's guest, Bill Mueller, can be found on Bluesky. Tim can't be found on social media because he doesn't exist. Pedestrians and cyclists in BC are killed and injured at a rate that would never be accepted in any other public space. We ask a simple question with a complex political answer: if automated speed enforcement cuts injuries and deaths so reliably, why isn't it everywhere it's needed?Dr. Brandon Yau, Medical Health Officer with Vancouver Coastal Health, helps us unpack how speed and red light cameras actually work, where they're currently deployed, and what the data shows about their impact. We examine the “cash grab” myth head‑on and discuss how to design a fair program with clear signage, robust technology, and transparent, revenue‑neutral operations that reinvest any residual funds into road safety.Support the show***********************************************The Bike Sense podcast with Peter Ladner is produced by the BC Cycling Coalition – your voice for safer and more accessible cycling and active transportation in British Columbia. In episode 1853 of Geek News Central, Chris speaks about Apple's pricey new iPhone Pocket accessory, questioning its usefulness and reacting to the internet's mockery of the product. Chris then shifts gears to tech and gaming, highlighting Steam's new Steam Machine as a potentially game-changing console-PC hybrid, and wraps up by criticizing Amazon's failed attempt at AI-generated anime dubbing, arguing that voice acting still needs a human touch. -Want to be a Guest on a Podcast or YouTube Channel? He provides details about the product’s release on November 14th and its pricing: the short version retails for $149 and the long strap version for $229, which Chris finds absurd. He questions the necessity of such a product, observing that many people already have enough pockets in their clothing and jokes about social media reactions mocking the iPhone Pocket’s existence. In the latter part of the episode, Chris transitions into discussing the Steam Machine, a new gaming console from Steam, which he hails as potentially revolutionary for gaming. He praises its specifications, suggesting it could outperform current competitors like the Xbox and PlayStation. He highlights its capability to function not only as a gaming console but also as a PC, allowing for flexibility in usage. Chris then touches on a failed experiment by Amazon involving AI-generated English dubs for anime, simply stating it was poorly executed and ultimately removed. He critiques the decision to utilize AI for this purpose rather than hiring voice actors, emphasizing the importance of human emotion in voice acting Links: Introducing iPhone Pocket: A Beautiful Way to Wear and Carry iPhone Steam Machine Amazon Halts AI Anime Dub Beta After Widespread Ridicule The post iPhone Pocket: Clever Innovation or Cash Grab? #1853 appeared first on Geek News Central.

The viral apocalypse is back! After nearly two decades, the horror and heartbreak of 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later return in the brand-new 2025 sequel 28 Years Later. But is this revival a brilliant evolution of the franchise… or just an unnecessary cash grab? In this episode, Jim breaks down all three films, exploring what made the originals so groundbreaking, how the second movie raised the stakes, and why the newest installment might be the boldest chapter yet.Join me as I cover:
Today, we're diving into a story that's raising eyebrows and sparking fierce debate: "From DOJ to ATM: The President's Cash Grab."Former President Donald Trump is seeking an extraordinary $230 million in taxpayer money from the Department of Justice. This substantial claim is for what he asserts are damages incurred from two major federal investigations: the probe into alleged Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election, and the investigation into his handling of classified documents after leaving the White House, which included the FBI search of Mar-a-Lago.Trump's rationale is that these investigations were "politically motivated 'Witch Hunts'" and constituted "malicious prosecution" and an "invasion of privacy" by the federal government. He argues he's entitled to compensation for legal expenses and alleged harm to his reputation.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/true-crime-stories--4814524/support.

A glossy As Ever video shows her glazing a turkey in a $297 satin gown paired with nearly a quarter-million dollars in jewellery — prompting the internet to ask why anyone would cook in couture. Critics also pounced on her muted “manila envelope” holiday palette, accusing her of recycling the same beige aesthetic she once blamed on royal protocol.Meanwhile, PR experts say her recent influencer-style reels expose a growing authenticity problem, with Tom Sykes calling out her “staged November 16 Christmas decorating” and comparing the misstep to the infamous upside-down jam tongs.Grant Harrold says the Sussexes are now “eating humble pie,” Harry is reportedly desperate to go home for Christmas, and insiders claim he's homesick, lonely, and waiting for the King's green light. Since Jeffrey Epstein's death in 2019, his estate has faced a flood of lawsuits from victims, governments, and financial institutions seeking accountability for the massive sex-trafficking operation he built. Multiple women filed civil suits within weeks of his death, alleging they were sexually abused as minors and lured into Epstein's network under false pretenses. The U.S. Virgin Islands' Attorney General also sued the estate in 2020, accusing it of operating a “criminal enterprise” from Epstein's private islands. That case ended in 2022 with a $105 million settlement — one of several massive payouts that drained what was once a $650 million estate. Victims' lawyers accused the estate's executors of slow-walking claims and hiding documents to limit exposure, while federal lawmakers demanded access to Epstein's records, ledgers, and calendars to uncover who else was involved. As the civil claims mounted, two of Epstein's closest advisers — lawyer Darren Indyke and accountant Richard Kahn — were sued for allegedly aiding and abetting the trafficking operation, marking a rare step in holding the inner circle accountable. The estate also became entangled in lawsuits with banks like Bank of America and Bank of New York Mellon over their financial ties to Epstein's accounts, deepening the controversy around how his operation was sustained for so long. By 2024, the executors admitted that the estate was running low on funds after paying settlements and legal costs, only to later receive a massive tax refund that swelled its assets again — sparking outrage that Epstein's associates could still profit. Years later, the estate remains a legal battleground symbolizing how deep, durable, and well-protected Epstein's empire truly was.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-epstein-chronicles--5003294/support.

Demon Slayer is a beloved anime, gifted with very devoted fans who are willing to consume its content in any way or form. Whatever came from the franchise, whether a TV season or a film, everything became a massive success. Yes, animated films do benefit from a higher production value, but their narrative structure is distinct from a series. Sometimes the makers go for a movie format because it provides bigger box office returns, but hardly take the narrative distinction into account. The storyline of Demon Slayer is also fitting for a traditional anime series, where, usually, limited arcs get explored at a stretch for a season. For the finale, this would have been the best choice of action considering the episodic nature of the plotline. However, now, this ending is getting stretched into a long trilogy of movies, forcing unnecessary wait time on fans, who just received the first installment in 2025. This decision messes with the pace of the story, and a prime example of that is the Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle movie.Support The Podcast: https://creators.spotify.com/pod/show/roose366/subscribeFollow For More Content &Streams!Science Podcast: https://open.spotify.com/show/5nFXe9dPeWrMpyObyAlrnF?si=7358d1cf32cb45b7Youtube Gaming: https://www.youtube.com/@RooseJp/videosTiktok: https://www.tiktok.com/@podcastonanime

Karen Read & Alan Jackson are swimming in blood money after inking a deal with Hollywood. Apparently Karen Read's story is no longer the story of a psychopathic woman who murderered her police officer boyfriend, John O'Keefe when she chose to reverse her 6,000 pound SUV into him at speeds of up to 24mph with her foot 74.5 percent down on the gas pedal. Her story apparently is about the power of “one woman's voice” (not John O'Keefe's mother Peggy O'Keefe) but the voice of psychopathic accused murderer Karen Read. Tommy and Ben discuss how President Trump's first official foreign trip is a blatant extraction of money from the Middle East, his announcement that the US will lift sanctions on Syria, the widening cracks between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Trump and Israel's increasing isolation, and the different stories the US and Iran are telling about the latest nuclear talks. They also talk about why Trump caved to China on tariffs, India and Pakistan's ceasefire and the Trump administration's belated intervention in the conflict, and the latest talks between Russia and Ukraine in Turkey. Additionally, they talk about the first American Pope and why the Trump administration's classification of white South Africans as refugees is white supremacy as policy. Finally, Tommy speaks with Senator Chris Murphy about the historic corruption on display during Trump's Middle East trip and what Democrats can do to fight back. In this episode, we take a look at some of those donations and some of the people who received them.(commercial at 9:59)to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/harvard-science-professors-kept-meeting-donor-jeffrey-epstein-despite-his-n1028536Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-epstein-chronicles--5003294/support.

Join Jim and Greg on 3 Martini Lunch as they unpack Matt Gaetz withdrawing his bid for Attorney General and President-Elect Trump choosing Pam Bondi as his new nominee, Sen. Bob Casey's overdue concession, and the UN's latest attempt to bilk U.S. taxpayers in the name of climate change.First, they discuss Matt Gaetz stepping aside after multiple GOP senators vowed to oppose his nomination. They also explore Pam Bondi's record as Florida Attorney General and the potential hurdles in her confirmation process. Plus, they explain why Gaetz's political future won't include a Senate or House seat.Next, they're glad to see Pennsylvania Sen. Bob Casey, Jr. concede his loss to Republican challenger Dave McCormick. But even in this statement, Casey spoke glowingly of election officials in all counties and the legal army he assembled, allegedly to make sure no voters were disenfranchised. Jim and Greg are not impressed but they're glad he's finally hitting the bricks. Finally, they roll their eyes at the UN's plan to demand $250 billion from the U.S. and other Western nations for climate change initiatives. Even more absurd, the recipient nations are upset it's not $1 trillion. Thankfully, this misguided scheme is unlikely to survive past Trump's inauguration. Please visit our great sponsors:Omahahttps://omahasteaks.comSave 50% off sitewide and get an extra $30 off with promo code 3MLZbioticshttps://zbiotics.com/3MLUse code 3ML at checkout to save 15% off your first order.
