Withheld Evidence & Justice Denied | The Delphi Murders Case Takes a Dark Turn Was justice actually served, or are we witnessing another case where the system seems to have its mind made up—facts be damned? Richard Allen is staring down 130 years in prison, but with his confession riddled with bizarre, impossible claims (like admitting to killing a grandchild that doesn't exist), it's fair to ask—was this a real confession, or just the broken ramblings of a man driven to the edge? And why were other potential suspects seemingly ignored despite overwhelming evidence? Psychotherapist and author Shavaun Scott joins Tony Brueski to dissect how the justice system sometimes prioritizes narrative over truth. This episode is brought to you in part by Squarespace. Head to https://www.squarespace.com/CULTY to save 10% off your first purchase of a website or domain using code CULTY. John Ramsey knows a lot about culty thinking within police investigations. He experienced it firsthand after his daughter, JonBenét Ramsey, was murdered in 1996. JonBenét was the six-year-old beauty queen found strangled and beaten to death in her Boulder, CO home. Despite DNA evidence pointing to an unknown male intruder, John and his family were the prime suspects for years, and they weren't officially exonerated until 2008. The inexperienced Boulder police department bungled this investigation from day one, but their tunnel-vision and group-think when it came to suspects might really be what thwarted justice. JonBenét's case remains unsolved to this day.  John Ramsey is here to discuss how culty mindsets and a lack of critical thinking can hamper police investigations. We get into the way his daughter's case was mishandled, how the police turned a blind eye to evidence that didn't fit the narrative, and how modern technology might finally solve this little girl's murder.  Please note that what happened to JonBenét is truly horrifying. Jen is joined by Senator-elect Adam Schiff to discuss how we arrived at this moment and the many ways those cases could have played out differently over the last 4 years. Jen is then joined by Melanie Zanona, Brendan Buck and Mark Leibovich to discuss how Trump's cabinet nominees might be considered for confirmation without undergoing FBI background checks, and the possibility that some Senate Republicans might join with Democrats to demand them. Jen also reflects on the implications of Trump's apparent decision to avoid transparency when it comes to his transition fund, which -- as of now -- can raise unlimited money without disclosing the names of donors, including from foreign nationals. Finally, Jen talks to Congressman and Veteran Pat Ryan of New York about Pete Hegseth's right-wing ideology and what it would mean for the Department of Defense if he is confirmed. Check out our social pages below:https://twitter.com/InsideWithPsakihttps://www.instagram.com/InsideWithPsaki/https://www.tiktok.com/@insidewithpsakihttps://www.msnbc.com/jen-psaki

Send us a Text Message.    Slam the Gavel welcomes back Founder of the Gabriella Boyd Memorial Foundation, Stephen Boyd to the podcast. He was last on the podcast Season 5, Episode 72. Stephen Boyd gave updates on how his Civil Suit had gotten dismissed by Westchester, NY, Judge James Hubert. This was a slam dunk as the Civil Suit should not have been dismissed due to several issues, one, over a warrant issue and enforcing a court order. It is questionable if the judge even read the Civil Suit.       Now his case is at the Second Department Appellate Division from 2/2021 to 5/2024. Now, it's a wait and see game with a very well written Summary Complaint. Justice delayed is Justice denied.       The Gabriella Boyd Memorial Foundation has a mission to help educate and assist those who have struggled to have a voice in custody situations. We want to be able to help those who are struggling, just like Stephen did, to have a chance to better understand their rights and the family court system. This foundation has the help of local law enforcement, social workers, family lawyers, and community activists for parents who want to be present in their children's lives, but are struggling to find the necessary steps and their voice in the process. There will be Informational seminars held quarterly to provide help to those who would like to join us. We are also involved with other foundations who also have the same goal of promoting equality in family law in order to focus on the well-being of our children.       There will be a rally for Family Court Reform next Friday, May 24th from 10:15-12:00 and will take place at 31 Collegeview Avenue infant of Brook, Brady and Schopfer law firm.     All Stephen asks is that judges do their job at the taxpayer's expense and look over their presented document and do the right thing.    To Reach Stephen Boyd:  gbmf26@gmail.com, 914-813-8387, gabriellaboydfoundation.org   Could you please sign and share the petition:  https://www.change.org/p/remove-judge-elizabeth-kelly-from-the-bench-permanently*DISCLAIMER* The use of this information is at the viewer/user's own risk. In this world, the poor, the ravaged, the humiliated ones are left on the outside. But in the justice of God, the poor and afflicted, the ravaged and humiliated shall be welcomed. In their pride and in their prejudice, human beings (even religious people; perhaps especially religious people) devote so very much energy to judging and excluding people like dark-skinned Ethiopians, the disabled and the different, the poor and the homeless. But God does not see people the way that we do, and so, the psalmist is sure that all those who seek shall praise God and find God's welcome.

The March 17, 2024 episode of Mic Check features an interview from 2020, when host Mike Merli was in conversation with Mariyann Soulemane, sister of Mubarak Soulemane, a 19 year-old Black Muslim teenager who was murdered by CT State Police (in collaboration with West Haven Police) on January 15, 2020. Mubarak Soulemane was 19 years old. Mubarak Soulemane was a student at Gateway Community College in New Haven. Mubarak Soulemane was an athlete, who loved playing basketball. Mubarak Soulemane was an entrepreneur, studying business. A teenager, with a heart of gold who would literally give the shirt off his back to help someone. And he did exactly that, on multiple occasions. His kindness and generosity are reflected in the many friends he had that mourn his loss. He had dreams of traveling the world. He had a family that loved him so much. And now all of that is gone for Mubarak. In a rare instance, Trooper Brian North was actually indicted on criminal charges for taking Mubarak's life. However, on Friday, a jury consisting of mostly older white men, rendered a NOT GUILTY verdict on all counts North was charged with.
