Emily Blackwell joins Aryn for a heartfelt conversation about the power of being ourselves--so fully--in all of our humanity...embracing the full range of emotion--the good, the bad, and the ugly. What would it feel like to truly express the fullest, truest version of yourself? Or more importantly, how much harm are we causing ourselves when we deny and stuff down our true feelings? When we authentically express ourselves, and welcome in our shadow, our hurt, our anger-- we can more fully accept others, and live more authentically. Join us as we examine the (not-so-radical) notion that if we plan less, and live more freely in the present moment, our lives will unfold in the most beautiful ways -- without the need to force specific outcomes. We explored: the frequency of human emotions, also known as the "map of consciousness" - and the work of Dr. David Hawkinshow you can manifest anything you truly desire for your life, the energetics of this post-internet era, and how things continue to change more rapidly than ever, loving yourself exactly where you are, how you can experience more peace and acceptance, and where to begin...With a background in psychology, a master's in creative and experiential arts therapy and trained as a psychedelic-assisted therapist, Australian-born Avá-Joy Sloan self-describes as a meditation teacher with a passion for dancing and poetry. In 2017, Avá founded Laprana– an integrative, experiential companioning practice supporting individuals in opening into the infinite present moment, to discover for themselves, the sacredness of all of life. With a home base in Melbourne Australia, Avá is currently living a nomadic life, companioning individuals around the world to connect to the present moment through the innate medicine of the natural world in combination with contemplative, creative, and experiential forms of self-inquiry. Avá sees a future where exploration into the depths of one's own being is the norm, taught and understood from an early age. Until then, Ava plans to continue companioning individuals to fearlessly break beyond self & societally imposed illusions and limitations of mind to find a greater sense of purpose, joy and lasting inner peace. You can read Ava's poetry, find her latest offerings and connect with her for 1:1 online sessions via her website www.laprana.com.au.

This interview episode features Anna, a scenic artist in the film industry, and certified yoga teacher. Anna grew up in Los Angeles, and now she lives seasonally and nomadically -- from Brooklyn, NY, to Palm Springs, CA, and all over the world. In this interview, we covered:Helping our nervous system recover after long periods of stress; How Anna and I met in Peru, and first started working with sacred plant medicines; Her experience of what an Ayahuasca ceremony looks like;Nature as the ultimate teacher, and the wisdom of our bodies;Making offerings, and the importance of intention;Fear of the unknown, and the magic of stepping into it anyway;Respect for sacred plants and tradition, and coming to this work with an attitude of reverence, surrender, and an open mind; The vibrant energy of Lake Atitlan, Guatemala, and the ancient wisdom of the Sacred Valley, Peru;Anna's journey traveling all over Europe on a motorcycle, camping by tent along the way;Creating a sacred space for yourself, wherever you are;How the foods we eat can affect our energy levels; ...and more. As a disclaimer, we are absolutely not experts on Ayahuasca or sacred plants. This is simply a discussion among friends, sharing our own personal experiences. If this is something you are curious about, I encourage you to find true experts on these plants, most of whom are indigenous peoples who have been working with these plants and medicines and traditions for many generations. We are simply scratching the surface here, and of course, this episode is no substitute for doing your own research.Anna is a dear friend who listens to her body and her heart, and trusts that her intuition will continue to guide her towards the experiences and places that she needs in order to keep growing and evolving. I used to think perfectionism was a great quality, and an important skill to achieve success. But more often than not, perfectionism does more harm than good. Striving to be perfect and being hard on ourselves can block us from being present, feeling joy, and can make it hard for us to stay in the "love space". When our ego tells us we have to be perfect in order to be ____ (happy, loved, etc) we miss out on enjoying and accepting ourselves in reality. In this solo episode, I felt inspired to share 6 reasons I've decided to ditch perfectionism:1. Perfectionism is procrastination, and keeps us stuck2. Imperfection is actually inspiring--be imperfect and inspire others to do the same 3. "Perfect" doesn't exist4. If "perfect" does exist, it is totally overrated--imperfection is natural and beautiful5. Perfectionism is usually based in fear6. Letting go of perfectionism can dramatically improve our relationshipsLet this episode be a gentle reminder to take it easy on yourself, make peace with your imperfections, and keep going! Trust that you are already evolving into a more authentic expression of yourself every day.If you enjoy the Love Space podcast, please spread the love by subscribing, leaving a review, and sharing it out with someone else.
