AJ Benjamin joins Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse to share a powerful story of healing from same-sex attraction and the deeper wounds that fed it — fatherlessness, confusion, and emotional pain. With honesty and humility, AJ walks us through the trauma he experienced as a child and how it distorted his identity, his relationships, and his view of God. Through years of spiritual growth and personal reflection, he came to see that his deepest needs weren't about sexuality, but about truth, healing, and belonging. Together, AJ and Dr. Morse explore how our culture often exploits emotional wounds rather than healing them — especially when it comes to sex, gender, and family life. They speak candidly about the ways trauma can mask itself as identity, and how the loss of strong father figures leaves children vulnerable to false ideologies. At the heart of their conversation is a call to compassion — not the kind that affirms everything, but the kind that loves enough to tell the truth. This interview is filled with hope. AJ's story is a testimony to the power of grace, the gift of confession, and the maternal care of Our Lady. His journey reminds us that healing is possible, that God hasn't given up on us, and that love — real love — always leads us back to truth. Watch, share, and be encouraged. Dr. J Show Episode 280. Are people really born gay? Is it true that no one ever changes? And what about those who feel same-sex desires but never act on them—what does healing look like for them? On this week's episode of The Dr. J Show, we sit down with AJ Benjamin—a faithful Catholic, husband, father, and counselor—who bravely opens up about his long struggle with same-sex attraction. Though he never acted out sexually, AJ describes the intense emotional and spiritual turmoil that once consumed him… and the radical transformation that followed when he surrendered it all to Christ. With clarity, humility, and compassion, AJ reveals the family wounds that shaped his identity, the healing power of Our Lady and the sacraments, and how authentic brotherhood helped him rediscover true masculinity. His story will resonate with anyone—Catholic or not—who believes that truth and love go hand in hand. Chapters 00:00 Understanding Sexual Orientation and Identity 01:58 A.J.

Hour 2 for 8/7/24 Drew prayed the Chaplet with Brooke Taylor (:45). Then, Fr. Tim Byerly joined Drew to discuss Maria Esperanza de Bianchini and her cause for canonization (35:56). One caller shared his time visiting holy sites in Venezuela and Maria Esperanza (43:46).

At some point, every building will require concrete repairs and restoration. If you've ever undertaken a concrete restoration project, you're aware of the many challenges they entail: substantial costs, lengthy time delays, irritation over hurricane shutters, windows and doors, uncooperative owners and the potential for incidental damage. Host Donna DiMaggio Berger sheds light on these projects with guest Alessandra Bianchini, Vice President and General Counsel of Carousel Development and Restoration Inc. Alessandra is the fourth generation of her family to be in the construction industry, and in this episode of Take It To The Board, she does a deep dive into how contractors typically handle these large projects and what your community can expect from start to finish on a concrete restoration. Their conversation on balcony restoration gets down to brass tacks on every front—from the necessity of removing every last tile to address spalling, to the legal hurdles faced when trying to gain access to units. They also tackle worker safety measures, the importance of expert counsel, and offer advice for associations gearing up for significant inspections. As Donna and Alessandra reveal, it's not just about finding the right team; it's about peace of mind. Join them for a conversation that could provide valuable insights for your community's next major restoration endeavor.Donna and Alessandra also discuss how increasingly violent weather patterns and climate change can impact the maintenance needs and structural integrity of concrete buildings and also unpack the importance of clear, consistent communication and detailed planning when undertaking concrete repairs in an occupied building. They share best practices for ensuring minimal disruption while keeping association residents in the loop and (mostly) happy during these vital projects.Conversation highlights include: Best practices for work crews doing concrete repair and restoration in occupied buildingsWhat causes concrete to deteriorate and how long that process typically takes Best practices for re-installing tile or other coverings on balconies, post-concrete restorationThe point at which a building is no longer a candidate for restorationImpact of climate change on the structural integrity of buildingsTrends and innovations in concrete restoration technology and techniques

Imagine a life where work and adventure seamlessly blend, and you can explore the world while building a successful career. That's the power of being a digital nomad! In this episode, I had the pleasure of (again) chatting with seven incredible individuals who have embraced this nomadic lifestyle, and this time they have unforgettable memories to share. It's the enchantment of swimming beside a blind elephant in the heart of Thailand, the intrigue of being caught in the spotlight of a reality show tailor-made for globetrotters, and the unexpected camaraderie found with not one but two fearless Albanian grannies. How about forming friendships with locals from every corner of this spinning planet through stand-up comedy, and then, the spark of revelation at the moment the bulb over your head illuminates, revealing that the digital nomad life wasn't just a pipe dream? Also, prepare to be touched by the golden hearts of wanderers as they extend a hand to a struggling family in Manila. Hold your curiosity as we delve into the tale of a shaman in Peru, rendering aid to fellow souls on Ayahuasca ceremonies. Ep. 92 - Emberthrone (Martin Bianchini, Gabe Seeber) by Cali Death Podcast

Building a meaningful business while living your best life and traveling the world is not easy. In this episode of Before IT Happened, our host Donna Loughlin tells the story of social entrepreneur and philanthropist Jamie Bianchini, who biked through over 80 countries around the world for eight years with a friend calling themselves the ‘Peace Pedalers.' Jamie's motto “Live big, give big” has had an enormous impact in communities from Asia to Latin America where he's helped build schools, start transportation projects and bring clean water to areas in need. Listen now and learn how this adventurer's entrepreneurial spirit found its spark in his love for humanity. Before any world-changing innovation, there was a moment, an event, a realization that sparked the idea before it happened. This is a podcast about that moment — about that idea. Before IT Happened takes you on a journey with the innovators who imagined — and are still imagining — our future. Join host Donna Loughlin as her guests tell their stories of how they brought their visions to life. JUMP STRAIGHT INTO: (01:20) - Jamie's story and the ups & downs of entrepreneurial life - “You can build a business around the lifestyle that you want to have. That's what I aspired to do, and that's still what I do to this day.” (05:44) - Traveling the world while trying to build a business - “I worked at a youth hostel in Switzerland that I modeled my business plan after which won Best Business Plan at USC.” (08:27) - Working to make Peace Pedalers a reality - “It was taking the tandem bicycle with an empty seat on the back of it and inviting total strangers to come on. That gesture of friendship and connection is the essence of Peace Pedalers.” (14:59) - Jamie's life-changing realization of wanting to help people - “Magical things happen when we don't just focus on ourselves, but we try to infuse some level of intention, contribution, and purpose in our lives above and beyond just achieving.” (18:53) - Getting the drive to keep going - “I pulled a two-peso note from my wallet, and somebody had written on the bill by hand a message in Spanish, ‘If love is your biggest weakness, you are the strongest person in the world.'” (22:18) - What's next for Jamie - “It's everybody's responsibility to pick our head up and see what we can do to help someone who's part of the human family who might not be as fortunate as us.” (24:50) - On Profit & Purpose: Jamie's new project in the social venture arena - “We help anybody who's purpose-driven or wants to be purpose-driven and make it easier for them to become even more impactful in their communities.” EPISODE RESOURCES: Connect with Jamie on https://twitter.com/JamieRBianchini (Twitter) and at https://jamiebianchini.com/ (Jamiebianchini.com) Learn more about Jamie's latest organization https://profitpurpose.org/ (Profit & Purpose) Watch Jamie's Tedx Talk: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xqnME0OQQ7A (Live Big, Give Big: Infinite possibilities powered by compassion) See Jamie's https://www.peacepedalers.com/route.html (original route for Peace Pedalers) Read Jamie's book: https://www.amazon.com/Bicycle-Built-Two-Billion-Compassion/dp/0996137203/ref=sr_1_8?dchild=1&keywords=a+bicycle+built+for+2&qid=1617900852&sr=8-8 (A Bicycle Built for Two Billion) Thank you for listening!
