I'm having a fan-girl moment! Dr. Jody Carrington, child psychologist and connection maven, is joining me to chat all about why creating connection in a disconnected world helps build confidence. She's challenging expectations and taking us along with her. Over the past 15 years, Jody has assessed, treated, educated and empowered some of our most vulnerable and precious souls on the planet. She's a child psychologist by trade but, these days, she rarely treats kids. Why? Because, she believes, the answer lies in the people who hold them—in shifting the way they think and feel about the holy work that they do. Especially when kids have experienced trauma, that's when they need big people the most. Some of her favourites include educators, parents, first responders, and foster parents. We are wired to do hard things and for connection. Listen as she shares more about the intersection between building connections and traversing our hardest moments. We also chat about what our loss of connection has to do with the size of our beds. This is an episode you will not want to miss if you've found yourself longing for deep roots and more solid connections with the people in your life. Show Highlights[01:24] Fan-girl moment! Have you ever heard someone mention that we all have the same 24hrs in a day? It's true. But when we look at social media feeds or Hollywood versions of successful people, we get the impression that we should be able to “do it all” on our own. That magically everything on our to-do list should fit in those 24 hours. And if we feel stretched thin, then we're not measuring up.Behind the scenes, most successful people have a lot of help. They have nannies or assistants or chefs or house cleaners or all of the above. The point is their 24hrs don't involve working on tasks that detract from their goals. For most of us though, hiring someone to come in and take over a portion of our life or business doesn't  make financial sense. Instead, I use automation to boost my productivity and delegate my mental load.
