In today's episode we look at the "People, Places and Things" that can trigger a relapse in recovery. It's important to understand that people, places and things are everywhere AND they are not going away! Often early in recovery we are told to control our triggers and we often feel that we need to control our people, places and things. This often leads to frustration as we realize we can't control them. This episode lists a variety of things we CAN do to control our reactions to them so they do not trigger relapse.

Send Mo a text about this episode! When does fear drive your decision making? One of the things I've learned to do in my life is face my fears head on. I got tired of letting them rule my life. I had some ideas and fears that were stuck in my mind about ghosts, demons and spirits. All of these ideas/definitions and how I was "supposed" to feel about them were placed in my brain by tv shows, movies, the Catholic and Christian churches and people I had met along the way in my life. Facing this fear has brought me so much peace and its empowered me to take charge of my energy and realize what I'm capable of. In this episode I had the opportunity to ask Kai all of my burning questions! In this episode we talk about:-How Kai discovered her gifts.-Kai shares quite a few stories around how she has removed entities from people, places and things!-How YOU can do this yourself.-What you can do to clear your energy and develop your intuitive abilities.-How to find a mentor and discern who is the right mentor for you.The 411 on Kai:Kai is a Kahuna, which is the Hawaiian version of a shaman. She is an author, mentor, speaker, teacher, and energy healer. She has developed the ability to see, hear, feel, taste, and smell to receive information from the spirit realm. She has opened doorways for the dead to pass through and opened windows for the living to see the potential for their future. She has used energy to help those who wished to heal and for those who wanted to return to Source. Her strongest ability is seeing angels, ghosts, demons, and things she doesn't have names for. With that ability, she can also see energy that is discordant with someone's energy signature and transmute it or remove it and replace it with energy that is for that person's highest good. Kai's greatest strength is removing negative energy and entities from people, places, and things, allowing others to feel better, sleep better, and feel more secure in themselves and their homes. She is a science-oriented geek by nature and loves to experiment with energy. With the help of her friends, guides, and ancestors, she is constantly reshaping her understanding of the world and expanding her cosmology. One of the things she enjoys most about experiencing new ways of using energy is that she gets to share what she knows and looks forward to how others will use that knowledge and hopefully return to share something new with her, beginning the cycle again.Website: handsonfire.buzzEmail: wakai66@hotmail.comKai's books that are mentioned:Shadow Work for Metaphysical and Spiritual Transformation by Kai BertrandWhen Things Go Bump in the Night: How to check if your house is haunted by Kai BertrandGo follow Kai on Instagram:IG: @healerkaibDo you have follow up questions? On this episode we talk with Dave Owens of the Pinhoti Project about his approach to turkey hunting, traveling, and trends. We don't get too deep into techniques, because each situation is different with turkeys. But we do talk about some of the similarities that are found in turkey hunters. Me, Chris, and Hunter took Dave on a trap line with us before we recorded, so he had gotten to see Hunter in his element trapping coyotes, bobcats, and beavers. He also got to see Chris in his, observing foodplots, getting sick about ruts in roads, and telling stories about white tigers and carnivals. We hope you enjoy, Dave Owens is a class act. Episode 082: People, Places & Things by Duncan Macmillan Host: Douglas Schatz Guests: Duncan Macmillan and Jeremy Herrin Welcome to The Play Podcast where we explore the greatest new and classic plays. Each episode we choose a single play to talk about in depth with our expert guest. We'll discuss the play's origins, its themes, characters, structure and impact. For us the play is the thing. Duncan Macmillan's People, Places & Things is a blisteringly frank and funny portrait of addiction and invented identity. When the play premiered at the National Theatre in 2015, Denise Gough won awards for her electrifying performance, and as we record this episode she revives her role in London's West End. It is a fascinating and challenging play, and an exhilarating piece of theatre. I am delighted to talk in this episode with its author, Duncan Macmillan, and the production's director, Jeremy Herrin.
Fans of the Star Wars universe will no doubt recognise Ireland's Denise Gough as steely Andor villain Dedra Meero. But it was back in 2015 that she was catapulted to stardom with her role as Emma in Duncan Macmillan's existential addiction drama, People, Places & Things. Almost ten years on, People, Places & Things is back and so is Denise with a proper barnstormer of a performance in a play that's funny, clever, vivid, devastating and one of the most emotionally intelligent takes on addiction, recovery and our notions of self our Mick's ever seen. Denise is herself a former addict, so in this episode, she and Mick are talking about addiction, the dark humour of addicts, notions of self, that time psychiatrists had a fight in the foyer, and why it's important to see women in roles like this. People, Places & Things runs until August 10 at Trafalgar Theatre. https://trafalgartheatre.com/shows/people-places-and-things/ Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

We're back with another great episode from the boys. This time we're talkin' about people, places and things. Why? When we were full blown in the disease, it seemed like anything could keep us drinking. We had to take a closer look at people, places and things once we decided to get sober for good and decide who was actually at fault, and if there were some situations which we now had to refrain from. This week's topic was inspired by the amazing warstory from Shane! Shane grew up in a small town and once he got a taste for drugs and alcohol, he was all in. In and out of treatment centers and institutions for most of his adult life, tune in to hear what it finally took for recovery to take root in his spirit. This story is fire. On this episode of In The Circle, we explore deep into the heart of recovery and self-discovery, guided by a compelling inquiry from Tim—How can I change my response when confronting people, places, and things that trigger frustration and irritability? This question is not just relevant but essential for those of us on the path of recovery, as it touches on the core issue of dealing with our reactions when we no longer hide behind addictive behaviors. The externally focused mind highlights the common trap of seeking satisfaction from outside sources, which often leads to frustration, anger, and a sense of failure when things don't align the way that “we” want them to. We must look inward and understand that true peace and alignment come from within, not from the external world. This internal focus shifts the emphasis from external validation to internal peace and self-awareness. Recovery is not just about abstaining from addictive behaviors, but also about elevating our consciousness and living a life of presence, kindness, and compassion.Tommy discussesShifting our focus from external validation to internal peaceWhy we all need self-reflection and inner focusThe benefits of developing a ‘neutral mind' How to stay centered during difficult timesThe true nature of addiction SPECIAL LIMITED TIME OFFER: Join Tommy Rosen for The 8-hour Awakening, a live, online, transformational journey beginning December 9, 2023. Were you told you needed to ditch your friends, change jobs or your career, distance yourself from family, or even leave a marriage to stop your substance use problem?
Often times, when we are elevating to a different level; we feel about about our growth. It's perfectly okay to outgrow people, places, or even things(not your clothes, but you get the gist of what I am saying). You are allowed to grow, it's not a bad thing. We just have to take our feelings out of it and use logic and mature reasoning.

This season is a skills series about fishing for trout after the sun goes down. And for the next six episodes, we'll break down the night game into an outline that roughly follows the topics of a series that I published on Troutbitten, titled, Night Fishing for Trout. My night fishing friends are joining me for this episode -- Josh, Trevor and Austin. These are the only night fishing companions I've ever had. Because the truth is, most anglers simply will not fish in the dark very often. But these guys do. And it takes a certain kind of angler to pursue trout into the night. What kind of angler fishes after dark? What are their motivations and rewards? That's our first topic in this episode.Where does night fishing for trout happen? Where are the best places to catch trout after dark? That's our second topic in this episode. And lastly, what kind of gear and tactics will we cover in this series? What are some of the odd things about night fishing we might encounter? This season, the six-part Night Fishing for Trout Skills skills series from Troutbitten, is an in depth look into the game of fishing for trout after dark. We hope you enjoy it.ResourcesREAD: Troutbitten | Category | Night FishingREAD: Troutbitten | Night Fishing for Trout -- Fight or FlightPODCAST: Troutbitten | An Introduction to Night Fishing for Trout -- S3, Ep14PODCAST: Troutbitten | Night Fishing and the Mouse Emerger Concept -- S1, Ep3VisitTroutbitten WebsiteTroutbitten InstagramTroutbitten YouTubeTroutbitten FacebookThank You to Pre-Roll Ad Sponsors:SkwalaandOrvis
Today, we're talking about why we need to stop making withdrawals from "expired season" in our lives. These seasons can include relationships, opportunities, a job, a friendship, stale mindsets, and anything that no longer serves its intended purpose. Holding on could keep you from receiving what God has intended for you in the NEW season and level He's calling you to. This past weekend I spent time in Atlanta, and I was able to fully rest my body. One thing I learned during my trip is how important it is that I feel safe because it soothes my nervous system. There are teachable moments in all of my experiences, and I am learning to slow down and gather my lessons along the way. Enjoy today's episode and share it with a friend. What do you think of when you first read the letters ‘LSD?' While her initials are synonymous with the drug, one could say that Lauren Santo Domingo similarly has a psychedelic effect. Let's be clear. This is a woman who started her career with a brief stint as a model, then transitioned to a Vogue editor, and took her learnings and spun them into a revelatory concept to shift the way people shop. Enter Moda Operandi—the luxury e-commerce platform that modernized the ye olde trunkshow. As if that wasn't enough, Lauren, is a fashion girl's catnip and the ultimate tastemaker. With the recent launch of beauty at Moda, we thought, who better to teach us a thing or two about the most lavish, worthy beauty indulgences than LSD herself? As someone who takes great pride on being anything but a gatekeeper, we know this to be true—sharing really is caring. Visit Ruggable.com and use code LIPSTICK at checkout for 10% off your purchase.
