Love. Everyone wants it but so many do not actually understand it. Too often love gets replaced with lust and infatuation, or it becomes a spoken feeling to cover our selfishness. Love is something we feel and it is something that we consciously believe in our mind, but love also has a look.   I want to speak to the side of love that we can so easily neglect – the actions. It is one thing for us to believe we love and to say we love, but love is visible and should be seen by others.   My goal is to encourage you to truly love your wife and your family, not simply with your words but also with your actions and lifestyle.   I highly recommend you refer to this conversation on the topic of love and action: https://fatheringourfuture.com/2024/02/05/what-it-means-to-love-god-interview-with-steve-schobert/   —   Get your copy of the new devotional for dads, Following Our Father: https://amzn.to/4eYIc1Q   Get your free gift, a copy of Cut The Crap (E-book): https://fatheringourfuture.com/2024/08/04/free-download-for-new-dads/   Become a financial partner with Fathering Our Future and make a direct impact on dads: https://fatheringourfuture.com/support/

Popular narratives about success often emphasize habits and tools like waking up early, meditating, or eating gummy bears. But what if the truth is far simpler—and far less flattering? Much of our success (or failure) comes down to sheer dumb luck, rather than the neat explanations we like to tell ourselves. Drawing from research on superstitious learning and randomness, I challenge the idea that we fully control our outcomes. From hiring decisions to life-changing events, many outcomes are shaped by factors outside our control.By recognizing this, we can cultivate greater empathy for others and better understand the complexity of life's circumstances. Don't fall into the trap of attributing success to oversimplified advice. Instead, embrace the uncertainty, and let's rethink what it really means to “earn” success.

In this episode, Dawn and André Paradis delve into the complexities of love, relationships, and communication between men and women. André shares his transformative journey from being a professional dancer to becoming a relationship coach, highlighting the pivotal moments that reshaped his understanding of women's emotions and needs. With personal anecdotes and expert insights, André emphasises the necessity of conscious connections and the power of vulnerability in fostering healthy relationships.   KEY TAKEAWAYS Men and women often communicate and interpret messages differently. Men may not realise that their words or lack of words can hurt a woman's feelings, while women may not understand how their words can come off as disrespectful to men. Taking responsibility for one's actions and understanding how they affect a partner is crucial in relationships. Acknowledging that unintentional actions can still cause harm is a significant step toward improving communication and connection. A willingness to learn and understand the opposite gender can lead to healthier relationships. Curiosity about each other's experiences and feelings can help bridge the gap in understanding and foster deeper connections. Societal narratives often portray men negatively, leading to distrust and defensiveness.  Both men and women must find a balance between their masculine and feminine energies. Embracing femininity does not equate to weakness.   BEST MOMENTS "He was a professional dancer for 15 years. And so he was living my dream of dancing with Michael Jackson and Prince and Paula Abdul" "Because when family falls apart, society falls apart. Look what's out there. So everything that's been pushed the past 50 years has gotten to a disastrous place when it comes to culture and family systems that hold everything together." "The words that you use to disrespect us would not disrespect you. So the same blind spot that we have on both sides, we don't understand hurting your feelings, we don't understand respect."   ABOUT THE HOST Dawn Rishárd, M.A. with 20 years as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Marriage and Family Systems, I empower people to release the past, open their hearts, and receive the love they desire. Why do we assume that computers always get it right? Today's book is: Artificial Unintelligence: How Computers Misunderstand the World (MIT Press, 2019), in which Professor Meredith Broussard argues that our collective enthusiasm for applying computer technology to every aspect of life has resulted in a tremendous amount of poorly designed systems. We are so eager to do everything digitally—hiring, driving, paying bills, even choosing romantic partners—that we have stopped demanding that our technology actually work. Broussard, a software developer and journalist, reminds us that there are fundamental limits to what we can (and should) do with technology. With this book, she offers a guide to understanding the inner workings and outer limits of technology—and issues a warning that we should never assume that computers always get things right. Making a case against technochauvinism—the belief that technology is always the solution—Broussard argues that it's just not true that social problems would inevitably retreat before a digitally enabled Utopia. To prove her point, she undertakes a series of adventures in computer programming. She goes for an alarming ride in a driverless car, concluding “the cyborg future is not coming any time soon”; uses artificial intelligence to investigate why students can't pass standardized tests; deploys machine learning to predict which passengers survived the Titanic disaster; and attempts to repair the U.S. campaign finance system by building AI software. If we understand the limits of what we can do with technology, Broussard tells us, we can make better choices about what we should do with it to make the world better for everyone. The haters of Jews can't seem to accept that Israel exists as a legitimate State. Why do so many millions of people continue to delegitimize the Jewish state? Corey Shuster joined me this week for the 2nd round on my show. We recorded the first episode 3 years ago in May 2021 and since then, Corey's YouTube channel, "The Ask Project" has grown by almost 100k subs. Corey has been running The Ask Project for about 12 years where he gathers questions from his subscribers and asks the questions to Israelis and Palestinians. Corey does not shy away from asking difficult questions and I couldn't recommend his channel enough to give you a deep understanding of the sentiments on both sides of the conflict. Dive in with me this week as I ask Corey about peace in the Middle East, how a Gay Jew isn't afraid to enter Palestinians territory, why anti-Israel media lies about Israel and how Corey slept through the massive missile barrage sent from Iran. The Epistle to the Hebrews constitutes one of the most difficult sections of the Bible for those of us who have embraced a Messianic Jewish perspective. Thankfully, D. Thomas Lancaster, First Fruits of Zion's Director of Education, has spent years penning a commentary that will enrich and enlighten you. He joins Messiah Podcast to provide a sneak peek into the premise that unlocked the historical understanding of this important book of the Apostolic Scriptures. – Episode Highlights – * The Epistle to the Hebrews is a difficult book to interpret from a Messianic Jewish perspective. Daniel Thomas Lancaster's new commentary brings the latest in New Testament scholarship and the oldest of Jewish hermeneutical principles to bear on the biblical text to present a relevant and insightful understanding of the epistle. * The authorship of Hebrews is uncertain. While it was certainly not the Apostle Paul, it may have been a second-generation disciple of the apostles like Clement of Rome. * Hebrews emphasizes Yeshua's importance as the gateway to the Messianic Era and warns against turning away from him. * The hermeneutical method used in Hebrews, known as kol vechomer, establishes the weight of the first matter to make a case for the second matter. * Understanding the Jewish context and the distinction between Jews and Gentiles is crucial in interpreting Hebrews. – Episode Resources – The Holy Epistle to the Hebrews https://ffoz.store/products/the-holy-epistle-to-the-hebrews The Holy Epistle to the Galatians https://ffoz.store/products/the-holy-epistle-to-the-galatians-book The Holy Epistle to the Ephesians https://ffoz.store/products/the-holy-epistle-to-the-ephesians-book Messiah Podcast is a production of First Fruits of Zion (https://ffoz.org) in conjunction with Messiah Magazine. Hip hop recently celebrated its 50th anniversary. What started off as an underground movement in the 1970s has blossomed into a global phenomenon with no end in sight. How has hip hop managed to not stop after all these years? Why were those who kept calling it a fad so completely wrong? Guest Todd Boyd has curated a comprehensive book called Rappers Deluxe: How Hip Hop Made the World that curates and chronicles hip hop's defining moments each decade. Using photographs, movie posters, fine art, album covers, film and sports stills, he paints an often misunderstood  portrait of hip hop's influences. Even the word hip hop is often thought to denote the music, but as Boyd describes it, the culture encapsulates much more.  Listen to this sonic journey into hip hop's origins.
