Happy Friday everyone, hope this week went quick and seamless because now its time for the Super Bowl! Obviously the big game is this Sunday and the Eagles and Chiefs will face off for the Lombardi Trophy! Come tune in to listen to our thoughts as to who will win and who will be the X factor for each respective team! Our pick my surprise you! Moving on to the NBA the trade deadline has come and gone. The biggest moves we have to discuss are of course KD getting traded to Phoenix and then the Lakers obtaining major assets while off loading Russell Westbrook's contract. The Suns trade caught us all of guard as that happened around 1am EST and just completely through everyone off the very next day. Brooklyn obtains 4 first round picks, Cam Johnson, Mikal Bridges and Jae Crowder (who was later traded to the Bucks). Is Phoenix the new favorite in the Western Conference? Now in LA the Lakers obtain a massive haul at the deadline. They went out and acquired DeAngelo Russell, Jared Vanderbilt, Malik Beasley and Mo Bamba. They traded away Russell Westbrook, Patrick Beverley and Thomas Bryant as well as a 2027 First round pick. Who are your winners and losers at the deadline?! For once we are both in full agreement as to who we see came out on top and of course who should have pulled the trigger and did not. We also wanted to make a quick mention of the NFL awards and HOF class of 2023 so stay tuned for that if you haven't already heard it. Lets have a great weekend and enjoy the Super Bowl this Sunday!!!! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Welcome to the first episode of Benched with Bubba where we will weekly talk sports, with the technical and goofy aspects. Talk tv, movies, food, drinks and much much more. It will be a podcast catered around the average fan that just enjoys watching with their friends at home or at a bar. Sit back, grab a drink and enjoy episode 1.There were some technical difficulties in the early going by from the 8 minute mark on it is pure gold. Special guest Rome from SportsDegens.com joins the pod and the guys start out by breaking down the NBA Finals. They discuss the greatness that is Lebron James and what went wrong with the Warriors. We discuss the great trolling efforts of Lebron as he landed in Cleveland as well as the greatness of the 73 win Warriors season.Next up the guys talk about some of the upcoming free agents and the impact that the draft may have on some of these teams trying to rebuild. Rome doesn't think Kevin Durant or Lebron will be signing elsewhere. Then we had to get down to some Lakers talk (Rome's team) and even got Rome to admit he'd trade Deangelo Russell for his boy, Paul George.Rome being a Southern California guy, we had to talk about LA getting an NFL team in the Rams. Rome is pumped, will be attending games and gets a little deeper into what it means to the sports fans of Southern California.Rome is one of the soccer guys at SD so we have to get into the 2 major tournaments taking place at the moment, Euro Cup and Copa America. We get into Rome's favorites to advance, talk about the crazy hooligans and fans in Europe and the impact Copa America may have on the USA. Rome brings up some good points about Team USA and how the country can continue to get better and better in international plays. Now the get to know your guest segment, we find out the normal stuff like food, drinks, teams, but then we get into Tinder, guilty pleasure tv and even a girld to do list. The most interesting part was finding out Rome went to UC Santa Cruz and the first rain of the year "Naked Run". The discussion of the Naked Run give some of the better one liners I've heard and set the bar high for Benched with Bubba.Last but not least the guys quickly discuss some other current topics, Ayesha Curry, Steph's mouthpiece, OJ Simpson (FYI HE DID IT), Ichiro, DJ at the US Open and last but not least Rome gives a shoutout to Skip Bayless on his last appearance at ESPN.
