Fresh off of minimal sleep and deadlines to meet, Logan Murdock and Howard Beck are back with another edition of 'Real Ones' from their hotel rooms in Oklahoma City. Who's currently in the lead for Finals MVP? Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton seemed to be hobbled after suffering an injury early in the game. If Haliburton isn't 100 percent healthy, do the Pacers have a shot with their backs against the wall? Plus, the Grizzlies traded Desmond Bane to the Orlando Magic for Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Cole Anthony, and numerous picks. Ross cited Tyrese Haliburton's leg injury and the guys discussed whether Indiana can come back if he is not at full strength. 8:52 ... World B feels like TJ McConnell might be able to rise to the occasion in game 6 if Haliburton struggles. 10:21 ... Bruce feels Andrew Nembhard needs to have a big game in game 6 for Indiana. 12:19 ... Bruce asks Ross if game 5 will be known as "The Jalen Williams game?" Ross agrees and also cites Shai Gilgeous-Alexander for a great effort. 14:27 ... Kentavious Caldwell Pope hopes to rejuvenate his career with the Grizzlies. 25:52 ... Memphis gets four unprotected first round draft picks plus a pick swap, so Ross feels Memphis will do fine with this deal. The guys then discuss whether the Grizz might be looking to deal more players, but Jaren Jackson Junior, Ja Morant, and Jaylen Wells all seem to be franchise cornerstones. 30:36 ... Kevin Durant has told the Suns which three teams he'd like to be traded to: Miami, Houston, or San Antonio. Bruce would love to see KD end up in San Antonio with Victor Wembanyama. World B doesn't feel like KD is chasing a ring since he seems uninterested in going to Minnesota. Bruce cited Marc Stein's report that Miami might offer players other than Bam Adebayo or Tyler Herro and doesn't feel like Phoenix would consider Andrew Wiggins or Duncan Robinson. Ross feels like if Phoenix wants to rebuild, Devin Booker would bring a King's ransom in return. 38:41 ... The Knicks are having problems finding their next coach because they keep trying to hire coaches that are currently employed by other teams and have looked clueless in their pursuit. World B calls it an embarrassment. Bruce compares Knicks management to the Keystone Cops. Bruce thinks NY should hire Mark Jackson, who played for the Knicks and coached the Warriors as they were about to become a dynasty under Steve Kerr. 45:30... Ross wraps it up and says good bye and see you next week. TRT 45:47

Carl and Mike get into some hoops talk and share thoughts on the trade of Desmond Bane to Orlando for a haul of first round picks, Kentavious Caldwell Pope and Cole Anthony and agree that the Hawks could take a page out of Orlando's book in terms of making a strong move this offseason to ensure they will be able to compete in the Eastern Conference.
In this episode we discuss the blockbuster trade that sent Desmond Bane to the Orlando Magic in exchange for Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Cole Anthony, and four 1st round picks. We talk about how this brings back painful memories from the Luka Dončić trade and how it's yet another example of how the Mavs didn't maximize the return from their best asset. We then discuss the recent reports around the Mavericks coaching staff, which started with Jason Kidd being linked to the New York Knicks. Since then, it's been reported by Marc Stein that several important Mavs assistants are drawing interest from other teams. We talk about what this means for the franchise as they get ready to host presumptive #1 overall pick Cooper Flagg for a visit this week. This is a public episode. Jeff Weltman said he'd be aggressive this offseason, and he has not wasted time pulling off this big time Father's Day deal with the Memphis Grizzlies to acquire Desmond Bane in the middle of the NBA Finals. The Orlando Magic had to give out Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Cole Anthony, the 16th pick of the 2025 Draft, their 2026 pick that is tied to a Wizards-Suns pick swap, an unprotected 2028 first, a top-2 protected 2029 pick swap, and a 2030 unprotected first round selection. It seems like a massive amount for a player who has not been named an All-Star, but Bane fits this roster on and off the floor and fills many needs. He's in his prime and under contract through the 2029 season. There's addition by subtraction occurring in that trade price tag. But the Magic are on paper better with Bane, and they didn't have to give up Jalen Suggs, Anthony Black, or Tristan Da Silva. Bane is theoretically now the Magic's starting ‘point guard' with his diverse skill set. This a message to the rest of the Eastern Conference that the Magic believe they can be a title contending team now. Bane will wear the #3 pinstriped jersey. This shouldn't be the only notable roster change for this offseason. Also, Franz Wagner commits to playing for the German national team at EuroBasket 2025. All of that and more! #LetsGoMagic Warning: Adult Language
Craig and Anthony react to the breaking news Sunday morning: the Orlando Magic have acquired Desmond Bane from the Memphis Grizzlies in a blockbuster deal. Orlando sends Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Cole Anthony, four unprotected first-round picks, and a pick swap to Memphis. The guys break down what the move means for both franchises and whether Orlando just made a win-now statement in the Eastern Conference.
Munaf Manji and Mackenzie Rivers talk NBA Finals Game 5 betting. best bets as always. The latest episode of RJ Bell's Dream Preview podcast features Munaf Manji and Mackenzie Rivers breaking down Game 5 of the 2025 NBA Finals and pivotal offseason developments. They begin by analyzing the Desmond Bane trade, where Memphis sent Bane to Orlando for Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Cole Anthony, four unprotected first-round picks, and a pick swap. The Magic, previously last in the league in three-point percentage and makes, addressed a dire shooting need. While Bane strengthens the backcourt alongside Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner, both hosts agree Orlando still lacks a true playmaker to fully optimize the roster. Turning to Memphis, the trade signals a possible rebuild despite the Grizzlies surpassing expectations last season with a +5 net rating. The franchise had already fired head coach Taylor Jenkins. Ja Morant, despite off-court controversies, recorded his best statistical season per estimated plus-minus, but trade value concerns and injury history complicate future decisions. Jaren Jackson Jr., on a one-year deal, might be easier to move but would likely require a max extension. Mackenzie suggests Memphis may be following Oklahoma City's “draft capital” model to rebuild in a Western Conference crowded with rising powers like the Thunder, Mavericks, and Spurs. The conversation shifts to Kevin Durant's future. Odds favor Minnesota, Miami, Houston, and San Antonio as potential trade destinations. Mackenzie argues Houston offers the best fit, balancing defense and the need for a closer. The Rockets' roster is full of youth and effort but lacks a go-to scorer in crunch time. However, Munaf notes the potential cost—losing Jalen Green, Jabari Smith, or Cam Whitmore—may be steep for an aging Durant with limited prime years remaining. Both agree that while the trade could elevate Houston, it does not guarantee championship contention. In analyzing Game 5 of the NBA Finals, the Thunder return home with the series tied 2–2 and are listed as 9.5-point favorites. Game 4 was pivotal—Oklahoma City finally covered a road playoff game, aided by Shea Gilgeous-Alexander's late-game scoring surge. The Pacers attempted a record number of full-court press possessions, forcing OKC to shift SGA off-ball. This change, emphasizing scoring over playmaking, resulted in SGA posting zero assists. His potential assists have dropped from 15.3 earlier in the playoffs to just 10.3 in the Finals. Mackenzie recommends betting under 6.5 assists for SGA in Game 5. Statistical betting trends further back the Thunder. Teams favored by eight or more points at home in a tied 2–2 playoff series are 20–2 straight up and 17–5 against the spread. Historically, such teams cover at a 62 percent rate in Game 5 scenarios. Munaf adds that OKC is 9–2 straight up and 8–3 ATS at home this postseason, further reinforcing confidence in them to win and cover. Among player props, Aaron Neesmith is spotlighted for Indiana. He's averaging 15.4 points per game in road contests this postseason. Munaf recommends the over on both his points and three-point props, noting his consistency when Halliburton struggles to create. The episode closes by revisiting odds and possible futures for Durant and the teams in play. With the draft looming on June 25, both hosts suggest the next big move could come sooner than expected. Game 6 will shift back to Indiana, but Game 5 is set to be decisive. Listeners are offered a promo code for discounted picks, and the hosts preview a busy offseason ahead. Orlando hands over Game 2 to Boston, 109-100, and trail the series 2-0 coming home. Magic blew this game. You knew the refs were going to screw you with no Jayson Tatum. Too many missed open Orlando shots. Too many missed free throws. Another wasted defensive effort because guys like Kentavious Caldwell-Pope can't hit an open 3. Once again, it was Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner performing…and not a lot of help from the supporting cast. All of that and more! #LetsGoMagic Warning: Adult Language

Bickerstaff, sign Tobias Harris(48:50) - Where will Brandon Ingram be traded?(52:20) - What to expect from Jimmy Butler? On this episode of the Good Word with Goodwill, Yahoo Sports senior NBA reporter Vincent Goodwill is joined by Sam Amick from The Athletic to rundown all of the news coming out of the first night of NBA free agency. The guys start things off with the biggest news, that Paul George is leaving the Los Angeles Clippers for the Philadelphia 76ers. The guys talk about the fit for George in Philly, and explain how losing one of their biggest contracts could end up being a silver lining for the Clippers as they open their new arena.Speaking of the Clippers, they re-signed James Harden for less than the max and also signed Derrick Jones Jr. as an athletic replacement for Paul George in the starting lineup. The guys talk about where the Clippers go from here and how concerned they are about Kawhi Leonard playing for Team USA this summer.Chris Paul, fresh off being waived by the Golden State Warriors, signed a one-year deal to join Victor Wembanyama in San Antonio. Sam likens this year with the Spurs to CP3's previous one-year stop with the Oklahoma City Thunder and explains how Paul could help bridge the age gap between Wemby and Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich. The guys talk about Kentavious Caldwell-Pope signing with the Orlando Magic, but mostly they talk about the Denver Nuggets losing talent since winning the title last year and the restraints of the new CBA.Isaiah Hartenstein was the best free agent center on the market, and he's a perfect fit for the Oklahoma City Thunder, who signed him early this morning. Sam Presti continues to put together an incredible roster that should be ready to compete for a title right now.As Vince works us into “The Outlet”, where we talk about non-free agency news, the guys spend some time talking about the Detroit Pistons. The Pistons hired the recently-fired J.B. Bickerstaff as their new head coach, are working on a max extension for Cade Cunningham and signed free agent veteran forward Tobias Harris. They have a long way to go, but that's an excellent start for a new rebuild in Detroit. While talking about Jonas Valančiūnas signing with the Washington Wizards, the guys end up discussing Brandon Ingram on the Pelicans and where he might end up in a trade. Finally, Sam wants to know from Vinnie what he thinks we should expect from Jimmy Butler going forward. What kind of year will he have? Is there still a chance for an extension in Miami?Check out the rest of the Yahoo Sports podcast family at https://apple.co/3zEuTQj or at Yahoo Sports PodcastsSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
