To All the Men I've Tolerated Before

Demisexuality is when someone's attraction to another person is reliant on an emotional connection and a demisexual individual does not experience attraction based on first impressions or physical characteristics. Katie Majka is back on the show to discuss her new book What's Your Vibe? In her new book, she hopes to give more representation to people who identify as demisexual. Her and Natalie talk about the different ways people find themselves attracted to others, how isolating it can be to begin to discover and reflect on your own sexuality, and what it means to be understanding to someone who experiences attraction in a different way than what is perpetuated by media and literature. For Pride Month, they're hoping everyone leaves June with a little more empathy and understanding for others while also living an authentic and true to themselves lifestyle.Follow us at @menivetoleratedpod on Instagram and https://www.patreon.com/menivetoleratedpod on Patreon for bonus content! I've got a fist-full of questions sent in from my Patreon supporters, some of which I answer here. Questions addressed in this public podcast: Can I make a scriptural case for Christian Universalism? What do I think about asexuality, demisexuality, graysexuality? Is the debate about same-sex marriage kind of like the debate about women in church leadership? It seems like there's a 50/50 chance that my baby daughter will have gender dysphoria–is that true? Can I recommend any good books on sex and marriage? And will we have memories of earth in our resurrected bodies? –––––– PROMOS Save 10% on courses with Kairos Classroom using code TITR at kairosclassroom.com! –––––– Sign up with Faithful Counseling today to save 10% off of your first month at the link:  faithfulcounseling.com/titr or use code TITR at faithfulcounseling.com –––––– Save 30% at SeminaryNow.com by using code TITR –––––– Support Preston Support Preston by going to patreon.com Venmo: @Preston-Sprinkle-1 Connect with Preston Twitter | @PrestonSprinkle Instagram | @preston.sprinkle Youtube | Preston Sprinkle Check out Dr. Sprinkle's website prestonsprinkle.com Stay Up to Date with the Podcast Twitter | @RawTheology Instagram | @TheologyintheRaw If you enjoy the podcast, be sure to leave a review. www.theologyintheraw.com

For LGQBT+ Pride month, we decided to work on the topic of Demisexuality, what it is and what it is not. You might be asking, “wait, is demisexuality a sexual orientation?” It is believed to be a subset and add-on to an individual's identity rather than being an individual's sexual orientation. Sexual orientation as people see it, is which gender(s) you are sexually attracted to or not. Demisexuality is a way of experiencing sexual attraction; it being about how you want to go about a relationship rather than WHO you would want to be in a relationship with. A demisexual can also identify as gay, straight, or bisexual, and may not have a gender preference when it comes to sexual attraction.

To celebrate Valentine's Day on February 14th, Do You Really Know is ready to cover a whole host of subjects linked to love and desire! From trends like sologamy and sneating, to the emergence of female viagra, spend all week learning about the concepts that surround our love lives in the 21st century. What is demisexuality? As regular listeners know, there are a wide range of human sexualities. For some people, wanting to have sex with someone results directly from physical chemistry, attraction and desire. But for others, a deep emotional bond or spiritual connection is required before any kind of sexual feelings can happen. Demisexuality is seen as being on the asexuality spectrum, kind of halfway between asexuality and allosexuality, which means those who do feel sexual attraction towards others. Like with many emerging sexualities, there's been a lot of skepticism and misunderstanding, but discussions around demisexuality have helped many people better accept themselves and put a name on their sexual orientation. How did the term demisexuality start being used? But don't most people need an emotional connection before things get physical? How can you tell if you are demisexual? In under 3 minutes, we answer your questions! To listen to the last episodes, you can click here: What is sologamy? What is intersectionality? What is Galentine's Day?
