Three powerful takeaways from our Easter holidays—lessons about mindset, risk, and meaningful connection. From a life-changing mindset shift at the Easter Show to a serious accident that reinforced the importance of risky play, plus a week without screens that revealed what kids really crave, this episode is packed with insight and inspiration for every parent. KEY POINTS: Mindset shapes experience: The same event can feel completely different when approached with a different attitude and realistic expectations. Risky play matters: Children need opportunities to push boundaries and take risks—it builds resilience, courage, and learning, even when things go wrong. Time is everything: What kids really want from us isn’t perfection—it’s time. Unplugging from screens and slowing down creates space for meaningful reflection and connection. QUOTE OF THE EPISODE:“What our kids actually want and need… is just time.” RESOURCES MENTIONED: Explore–Explain–Empower framework (Justin Coulson) happyfamilies.com.au ACTION STEPS FOR PARENTS: Check your mindset before heading into family events—set realistic expectations and choose connection over control. Encourage age-appropriate risk-taking (e.g., climbing trees, riding bikes)—it builds confidence and independence. Unplug regularly—create time and space for quiet reflection and intentional connection with your children. Give each child individual attention—consider what they uniquely need from you right now. Practice being present—ditch the schedule and just be with your kids, without distraction. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Police will be able to use metal-detecting “wands” in major public spaces where knife crimes have been committed in the past year, in a key change to proposed new powers driven by concerns about the safety of yearly events like the Easter Show. Accused High Country killer Gregory Lynn murdered campers Russell Hill and Carol Clay, probably after a dispute over a drone, prosecutors allege. An Uber driver allegedly raped a young woman after she had finished work in the early hours of the morning in Sydney's Inner West. An Adelaide pilot who was working in the US has died in a motor vehicle accident. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Bit happening this week in the world of TCB. Ro begins with a discovery of a children's YouTube channel with over a 100 million subscribers and the boys slowly realise they will never achieve anywhere near as much as this 8 year old has. Miguel has had a huge week as well as he brings some yarns from the Easter Show and the Ramadan Night Markets. Finally, Sen pledges that he will be in the Paddock for next year's Australian F1 Grand Prix. This week we were feeling adventurous so we decided to give “Bullslut'' another go. This week's categories include naming vegetables, shops and junk food amongst others. Our last segment this week is “Life Hacks.” In case the listeners didn't know already, the boys love a good scheme or get rich quick idea, so we put the call out to the listeners. We discuss the listener submissions as well as some of our own life hacks.___________________________________________________________FOLLOW THE GIRLS:

During my childhood, Easter was one of those "six in one hand/ half a dozen in the other" holidays. Yes, there was egg coloring, jelly beans, candy and a few good cartoons! But on the other hand there was wearing the Easter clothes all day that you weren't even allowed to sweat in, wearing the good shoes that were invariably half a size too small by the spring and of course the dreaded straightening comb!! Join us at 6p PST/ 8p CST/ 9p EST to discuss our Retro Easters, the best and worst!
Well, Easter buddies, this is one "hot off the presses" as they say. Just recorded this Easter special today just for you. It's time for a Bing Crosby Easter Philco Radio TIme show we haven't played you before. From March 24, 1948 listen as Bing welcomes special Cowboy star, Wild Bill Elliott & the ever charming Peggy Lee. I've seen every Wild Bill Elliott western ever made and I became a fan after the first one. I remember when I first heard this Bing show years ago I had never even heard of or saw a Bill Elliott western. Boy was I missing out on one of the greats. But no more, thanks to DVDs I caught up on all the great Wild Bill's I had never seen. Too bad TV doesn't run them much nowadays, seek them out if you've never seen any. You won't be sorry. For now, here's Bing & Bill & Peggy as we all celebrate Easter together.

One week on from the momentous 200th Episode, Ro and Sen have immediately gone walkabout leaving Migs and Kush to pick up the pieces and begin the next 200 episodes. After briefly pondering their whereabouts, Kush launches into a tale of almost confronting a group of eshay's in a movie theatre. Migs then tells a story of hoodwink and deceit as Ro tried to gaslight a group of very confused Koreans. Our new game this week is a simple one, “Guess the Sound.” As the name suggests, Miguel has gone out into the world this week to record mundane everyday sounds and it's up to Kush to guess these sounds. Finally this week, after a long absence in the wilderness, we bring back “Overrated or Underrated.” Another simple segment where the boys discuss whether something is overrated or underrated. This week they discuss an assortment of topics from lemon lime bitters to free food at work to Coachella and everything in between. Also this week: Nike Phantoms, kbbq, hand cannon, Ramadan Night Markets and the Easter Show.Segments this week:The Logue: Tired of reaching around each other (at least on the podcast), the boys have instead decided to reach around the week's news stories, events and viral trends.Guess the Sound: Miguel plays Kush some mystery sounds and he must guess what they are.Overrated or Underrated: This segment is as simple as it sounds; the boys give their opinions on what they think is overrated in the world and what they think is underrated.___________________________________________________________FULL PODCAST EPISODES

Many people around the world would have come across the food produced by the Twelve Tribes through their Common Ground market stalls and bakeries or their Yellow Deli cafes. A post from 2011 on the popular Weekend Notes website says, “The Common Ground Café has had its share of media-related controversy as it is run by a religious community, whose mysteriously stand-offish ways freak some people out. Do not be deterred by that, as no one will try to convert you and the food is truly delicious. If you are curious, just ask them.”It might be worth listening to award-winning journalist Tim Elliott's new podcast, Inside the Tribe, before you follow this advice.Full research sources listed here.
