Over the last few months I have been doing a lot of work on restructuring my business and reorganizing all of my content. This is a consequence of all the ways in which Tapping Q & A has changed and how I have evolved personally. To make it easier for everyone to find the types of content that they are looking for I have created two new podcasts in addition to the Tapping Q & A Podcast. Tapping Q & A Podcast: The Tapping Q & A Podcast will continue to focus on tapping. Its main focus will be on slightly more advanced and provocative tapping concepts. There will be a lot less tapping 101 content and much more on mastering the art of delivering tapping in a more effective way. First Action, Best Action: One of the types of work I enjoy the most is helping people to eliminate self-sabotage so that they can take the most valuable actions over and over again and achieve their goals. In doing this work I have come to realize that taking the best actions isn't just about organizing your to-do list well or having the right systems in place. It is also about changing the resource state that you are in when taking these actions. What I mean by "resource state" is whatever is impacting the resources we have at any given moment. This can include energy, focus, emotions we are feeling, and physical pain. If the first action we take is about changing our resource state, then all of the action we take after that will be better. Thus the title First Action Best Action. Make your first action about changing your resource state for the better, which will allow you to take your best actions for the rest of the day. The show is published four times a week. Most episodes are less than ten minutes long and will teach you one thing to help you get your day started on the right foot. Instead it is a personal spiritual reflection. In each of the show's episodes I explore one of the titles of the Virgin Mary, such as Our Lady of Confidence, Cause of Joy, Mirror of Justice. Every episode is made up of three parts. First, I explore the virtue of the title and what it means. Second, I explore how I need this virtue in my life. Third, I reflect on how I am called to live that virtue out in my daily life. This is a very personal podcast. To be honest, I am totally OK if no one but my mom listens to the show because it has been a vehicle for such valuable personal growth for me. Each episode takes around 20 hours of my time to produce, as I grapple with the content and try to wrap my mind around what I feel about it. The first season is 10 episodes long, published approximately every two weeks. I have written a book called "Prayer" to go along with the show. As this podcast goes to air, we are at the very beginning of the summer season. From the chaotic energy of the air element of Gemini, we find ourselves in deep and sensitive waters of Cancer and the start of Summer.  The summer will bring much heat… literally and symbolically… we will see. The energy of summer is about slowing down, relaxing, and finding the patience for your life to allow the seeds to grow. It's the divine feminine energy and, as I like to say, the wild woman energy… something we can all express. During this Cancer Season, we have two New Moons in Cancer, which is great for manifesting! We are sitting in the middle of the eclipse season. Eclipses open up portals for us to step through and make exponential changes in our lives. This New Moon eclipse is sitting right at the North Node, which pulls the energy of society in one direction. It, in many ways, is where we are headed as a collective. The North Node holds the lessons humanity is learning and integrating during a specific period. The North Node's position in Gemini is introducing new perspectives, systems of energy exchange, and new forms of communications within society.  The full moon eclipse was hitting the South Node… that is about stuff we can leave behind. So, yes, it is time to stop making imprints… time to stop the cycles you may have found yourself in… and move it forward… find the lessons underneath… and open up! Gene Monterastelli, the founder of Tapping Q&A (tappingqanda.com), provides an overview of tapping as a therapy option to help people overcome obstacles in their lives. Monterastelli earned his degree from the Catholic University of America. His vast experience in various therapeutic techniques includes hypnotism, guided imagery, NLP, parts work, as well as meridian based tapping protocols such as EFT. Monterastelli talks about his background. He discusses how social anxiety led him to discover tapping. Monterastelli's road to recovery and healing from his anxiety issues were aided by this interesting therapeutic technique and he decided to share his knowledge with others in his eBook. His popular audiobook, Recovering Self: A Healing Manifesto is available for everyone, at no cost. Monterastelli recounts how his social anxiety had gotten so bad before he discovered the power of tapping, that he couldn't even call out his stop on airport shuttle buses, or help friends with favors that required a simple phone call to someone. In short, his life was in need of a solution, and he found it through tapping. Monterastelli talks about studies regarding the effectiveness of acupuncture and how it has been proven to be a useful tool in pain management and also in battling depression and phobias. He discusses the early work of tapping therapy founder, Dr. Roger Callahan, who first decided to take the concept of acupuncture and adapt it to a form of healing using only hands and fingers to tap meridian points, abandoning the needles, to provide benefits to more people. However, the algorithms of Thought Field Therapy (TFT) are rather complex, and thus one of Callahan's students, a man by the name of Gary Craig​, ​simplified the technique even more and thus became the founder of what we know today as EFT Tapping Therapy. Monterastelli talks about the tool-sets that people can utilize within the context of this therapy. He talks about the basic tenets of tapping that include tuning in to your issue (physical pain or emotion) and then tapping points. By moving from tapping point to tapping point, and talking through the problem, you can then conquer the problem. It’s really important for us to have a clear understanding of what the transformational path looks like as we’re moving through it. It makes a big difference for people because it also gives them the ability to when we recognise these small steps we’ve made forward, it gives us the sense of achievement and momentum and so we keep after it." The words of expert "Gene Monterastelli"; a Brooklyn based EFT tapping practitioner who works with people to help them overcome limiting beliefs, anxiety, and relationship challenges.  Gene suffered from specific social anxiety: "I was totally fine performing on stage for 7000 people. But when I was engaging with a person 1 on 1 I didn’t have control because the other person had more agency, they could make choices. And that unpredictability of how they would respond was crippling. For me it was the starting of conversations."  We go into depth on the journey from social anxiety to social confidence and Gene shares what he did to overcome his social anxiety using the tapping, and he also paints a picture of what to expect, and what mindset to take to keep going.  QUOTE: The times that I feel anxious, the times that I feel overwhelmed, the times that I feel insecure it’s because I on some level have decided “my worth is determined by how someone else judges and evaluates me”. When I am in a position where I recognise my own worth, and I am making that judgment myself and seeing myself as worthy because that’s intrinsic about me, then navigating my day is really easy. I’m no longer trying to appease or try to live up to someone else’s definition of success and I’m just simply trying to be me in this moment. And when I do that I have so much more control.
