This week, Eric, Dan, and Noah discuss the philanthropic efforts of MrBeast, the YouTube star with more than 200 million followers, in building wells in Kenya, which has come in for some criticism. Are MrBeast's efforts making a positive impact, or are they worthy of the criticism they're receiving? Or both? And what could he and other people with high profiles who seek to do good do differently? Next, the panel discusses the report from the pro-Israel outfit Honest Reporting about freelance photojournalists working for the Associated Press, Reuters, the New York Times, and others being embedded with Hamas on October 7. What questions about ethics in journalism does this raise? And finally, the University of Austin is open for business. But how successful will it be at attracting students and building a different way of providing higher education? Back from hiatus, Amy and Dor dive into updates on personal matters, the podcast, and the ongoing war. Amy moves back into her apartment, the Houthis initiate the first space war, and an expose by Honest Reporting on the photojournalists who rode along with Hamas terrorists on the morning of October 7 raises questions about journalistic ethics. Dor reflects on the dissonance of getting bad news from attractive Israeli news anchors. and Amy vents frustration with the haters and Meta (again), seemingly plagued by selective hearing and moderation. The episode closes with personal reflections on the economic repercussions of the war and plans for the podcast's future.Recorded on November 12 (Day 37).Thanks for tuning in!
Iranian-backed terrorists in Yemen shot down a U.S. military drone over international waters on Wednesday, which comes after U.S. forces throughout the region have been repeatedly attacked by Iran's terrorist proxies. Photographers from the Associated Press and Reuters appear to have been embedded with Hamas terrorists as they executed terrorist attacks against Israel on October 7, according to a new report from Honest Reporting, a media watchdog. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's administration is demanding answers from several prominent news agencies after criticism emerged of their photographers appearing to have been embedded with Hamas terrorists during the October 7 attack. Republicans across social media are calling on Republican National Committee (RNC) chairwoman Ronna McDaniel to resign following Tuesday evening's elections, which saw a major GOP loss in Kentucky. Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) may have been center stage at Wednesday's GOP presidential debate, but former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley appeared to be top of mind to most candidates.
