Today on Uncommon Sense, we're discussing the ongoing controversy surrounding the Epstein files, its blackmail, the political implications of Charlie Kirk's assassination, and the growing conflict between Israel and Iran. We'll also talk about the influence of powerful Israeli interests on American foreign policy and ask whether the United States is being drawn into another Middle Eastern war against the will of its own citizens (and at our cost, yet again).--https://www.youversion.com/bible-app
Today on Uncommon Sense, we're discussing the tragic state of the modern world. From the protests in Ireland to growing frustration across Western nations, many people feel as though their voices are no longer being heard by the institutions that claim to represent them. I'll share why I support the right of people to protest and why I believe the demonstrations in Ireland have resonated with so many people around the world. We'll also discuss what I see as a deeper spiritual crisis affecting modern society. Many of the political, cultural, and social problems we face today are symptoms of a broader moral and spiritual decline, one that cannot be solved through politics alone. In this episode:My thoughts on the protests in IrelandWhy so many citizens now feel disconnected from their governmentsThe growing divide between ordinary people and powerful institutionsThe role of faith, morality, and personal responsibility in rebuilding societyWhy I believe many of today's crises point to a deeper spiritual battleWhether you agree or disagree, this episode is an invitation to think critically about the direction of our culture, our governments, and our future.--https://www.youversion.com/bible-app
Today on Uncommon Sense, we're discussing what may be the most consequential political moment of Donald Trump's career. With Trump's approval ratings slipping, the Iran conflict escalating, renewed questions surrounding the Epstein files, and the assassination of Charlie Kirk continuing to reverberate through the conservative movement, many Americans are asking whether these events are isolated, or part of a much larger story. In this episode, I examine the connections I believe may exist between these developments, including my view that the Epstein files may have been used as leverage against powerful political figures and that foreign interests have exerted significant influence over American policy in the Middle East. We'll discuss:Trump's declining support among his baseThe growing controversy surrounding U.S. involvement with IranThe unanswered questions surrounding the Epstein filesThe political impact of Charlie Kirk's assassination and its aftermathWhy I believe these stories intersect in ways the mainstream media refuses to exploreMy goal is not to tell you what to think, but to encourage you to question narratives, follow incentives, and examine who benefits from the decisions being made in Washington.--https://www.bible.com/
We start with New Jersey Assemblywoman Dawn Fantasia, who reacts to the Memorial Day protest outside Delaney Hall and the videos of Senator Andy Kim caught in the crowd. Dawn and Fantasia talk about why the timing matters, how the media frames these confrontations, and why elected officials standing in the middle of an escalating scene raises major questions. Fantasia also gives us her view on New Jersey's agriculture emergency after crop damage, the push for federal help, and the flaws she sees in New Jersey's school funding system. Dawn then turns to local crime after a South Philadelphia father of three, German Corona, is beaten unconscious while walking home from work. We talk through the surveillance video, the possibility that he was targeted as a tipped worker, and why sanctuary city policies can make vulnerable people less likely to report crimes. The conversation then moves to Wildwood, where police shut down a social-media pop-up party at a short-term rental before it could take off during Memorial Day weekend. We also bring in Frank Scales from Surge Philly, who talks about William Small confronting Chris Rabb supporters, illegal immigration, Philadelphia's wage tax, school failures, and why viral street reporting is forcing stories into the public eye. Dawn Stensland and Frank talk about threats against young reporters, masked protesters, Antifa, Newark's ICE facility, and why social media has changed the way stories reach people. Dawn and Dan close with a debate over who gets to be called a journalist, why licensing journalism would be dangerous, and why the Pottstown house explosion still needs answers four years after a grandmother and four children were killed.
On today's episode of Uncommon Sense with Ginny Robinson, we discuss the political attacks surrounding Thomas Massie, growing concerns over foreign lobbying influence in American politics, and why millions of Americans feel their government no longer represents them.We also discuss the continued secrecy surrounding the Epstein case and why the American people are demanding full transparency, the complete unredacted Epstein files, and lawful accountability for every individual involved regardless of status or political connections. As corruption, manipulation, and moral decay continue spreading through powerful institutions, Americans must hold tightly to their God-given Constitutional rights, speak truth boldly, and refuse to surrender their freedoms out of fear.Truth matters. Justice matters. And no one should be above the law.--https://www.bible.com/
Stephen Colbert has recently found himself at the center of a free speech controversy after CBS reportedly barred him from airing a televised interview with a Democratic candidate, citing concerns over the Federal Communications Commission's (FCC) "equal time" rule. While Colbert ultimately bypassed the restriction by releasing the segment on YouTube, the incident highlights broader tensions regarding editorial independence under the current political climate. Parallel to these broadcast concerns, new legislative efforts in California have sparked debate over the future of independent reporting; specifically, a proposed bill authored by Assemblymember Mia Bonta seeks to criminalize the sharing of identifying information of immigrant service providers. While proponents argue this measure protects workers from harassment, critics like Nick Shirley claim it could effectively "criminalize investigative journalism" by penalizing citizen journalists who document public interactions in high-stakes environments.

Brad Swail welcomes Charles Blain—Houston Chronicle contributor, Manhattan Institute City Journal writer, Fox 26 panelist, author of the forthcoming The Brotherhood of Facts (Johns Hopkins Press, spring 2027), and founder of Local Insights. Charles shares how an accidental AI-assisted review of Houston Metro contract documents uncovered a $215k-to-$4.2M ballooning deal tied to board chair conflicts—ultimately leading to cancellation after public pushback. He explains how Local Insights aggregates Texas local government data (budgets, bonds, agendas, campaign finance, property records, business ownerships, jail stats, court filings) into searchable dashboards, cross-references, trend alerts, and interrogatable interfaces—empowering everyday citizens, journalists, and activists to hold officials accountable without needing newsroom resources. They discuss AI's role in leveling the civic playing field: parsing dense agendas, flagging anomalies, aiding open records fights, and educating users on government mechanics (strong vs. weak mayor systems, charters, CAFRs vs. budgets). Charles critiques Trump-era talk of banning institutional homebuyers (mostly mom-and-pop investors, not mega-corps) and argues Texas should focus on permitting reform, standardized processes, property tax relief (e.g., incentives for first-time buyers near aging parents), and deeper transparency mandates to boost affordability. Essential for anyone tracking Texas local governance, transparency, housing policy, or AI in public accountability. Visit localinsights.ai (or follow @CJBlain10 on X) for more. Isvari Maranwe on Impact-Focused Activism, Citizen Journalism, and Rebuilding Social MediaAmy Pons, founder of Unlock the Magic, interviews Isvari Maranwe—Silicon Valley–raised tech leader and Georgetown-educated cybersecurity attorney—now based in London. Isvari is CEO and founder of YuVoice, a new social media company designed to reward users for tangible impact rather than a follower-driven influencer model, and CEO of The Sentinel by YuVoice, a nonprofit, ad-free, non-paywalled citizen journalism platform building an all-volunteer global press corps. They discuss the tension between professional success and the emotional toll of social justice work, the importance of boundaries, and prioritizing empowering people who want to make a difference over trying to convince those who won't. Isvari shares her view that only about 1% of people truly shape society for good, making it critical to change social defaults and focus energy where it creates measurable impact. Isvari explains that YuVoice has closed a $1 million angel round and will launch in phases with nonprofit partners, focusing on “anti addictive algorithms” and mentally healthy design. The Sentinel's mission is to break global news through local perspectives: “We believe that everybody can tell their story the best.” They critique for-profit media incentives and argue, “media needs to be a nonprofit.” 02:22 What's on Your Heart: Success, Privilege & Staying Resourced03:54 Stop Convincing the Unmoved: Empower the 1% Who Shape Society06:35 From Righteous Rage to Real Impact (and Posting with Intention)13:00 Why Outrage Doesn't Translate to Action (and What Might)18:32 What Happens When No One Wants the Baton? In this episode of Uncommon Sense, I break down why I'm not satisfied with the FBI's official narrative surrounding Charlie Kirk and why I believe too many questions have been quietly labeled “off limits.”I explain why I agree with Candace Owens that the Tyler Robinson explanation feels incomplete, at best, and why the idea that he acted entirely alone deserves serious scrutiny rather than blind acceptance. I also address my personal suspicions regarding Erika Kirk and the toxic culture within TPUSA, shaped by my own experiences and tensions with TPUSA staff behind the scenes.Drawing from TPUSA events, I recount direct disagreements I had with staff over what I viewed as dangerously inadequate security, and why Charlie, tragically, never seemed to fully grasp how influential and vulnerable he had become. Finally, I discuss my theories and unanswered questions surrounding possible Israeli intelligence involvement (I do believe Mossad played a part in all of this). We must always dare to think our own thoughts and ask our own questions. Don't let them take that away from you.--https://www.bible.com/

Today we're talking about the growing controversy surrounding America's relationship with Israel, and the disturbing pattern of censorship that follows anyone who dares to even question it. Why are discussions about foreign influence and government transparency being shut down? Why are prominent voices silenced the moment they speak against powerful interests? We're asking the uncomfortable questions no one in the mainstream media wants to touch, from the suppression of speech to the "alliances" shaping U.S. policy, and praising those few, like Candace Owens, who refuse to back down in the pursuit of real justice and truth. This episode isn't about taking sides, it's about demanding honesty, accountability, and the freedom to ask hard questions without fear.

Amid chaos following Hurricane Helene, hear how BIPOC journalists redefine community engagement by addressing urgent needs in western North Carolina. This show is made possible by you! To become a sustaining member go to https://LauraFlanders.org/donate Thank you for your continued support!Description: Some residents had no food, electricity, or cell service after Hurricane Helene ravaged the western part of North Carolina in October. Amidst misinformation and no information, local media had to step in to inform desperate people fast. This month on “Meet the BIPOC Press”, we explore what media outlets did to serve their people in that moment. Laura and co-host Amir Khafagy, a journalist with the New York City-based publication Documented, speak with two local BIPOC media projects that saved lives and expanded their relationship with their communities. Our guests are Brooklyn Brown, Reporter for Cherokee One Feather, the local newspaper of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians; and Magaly Urdiales, co-founder of JMPRO Community Media (“Justice Media Project”), a grassroots nonprofit that shares essential news and information with immigrant communities in Spanish, English and Mayan Indigenous languages. As they found themselves at the frontlines of relief efforts, how did these local outlets redefine journalism?“. . . Objectivity doesn't have to be cold. Reporting the facts doesn't have to be without passion. That's something I see a lot in community journalism, is that we are able to practice good journalism while also having a heart for the community that we're covering.” - Brooklyn Brown“I think many barriers and many problems of the corporate media came in place. We were called for people that were looking for a story, that were looking for somebody that was crying because their loved one wasn't found yet. And for us it was frustrated . . . in a moment like this, that can be transactional.” - Magaly UrdialesGuests:• Brooklyn Brown (Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians): Reporter, Cherokee One Feather• Magaly Urdiales: Co-founder, JMPRO Community Media• Amir Khafagy (Co-host): Journalist, Report for America Member, DocumentedWatch the broadcast episode cut for time at our YouTube channel and airing on PBS stations across the country Subscribe to episode notes via PatreonMusic In the Middle: Novalima remix of “La Voz” by Eljuri, courtesy of the artist. In this episode, Connor had the pleasure of speaking with Garrett of Nodle, a groundbreaking startup that utilises smartphones to create a decentralized network for various applications. They discussed how Nodle began its journey seven years ago, initially focusing on building mesh networks to facilitate communication in areas without internet access. Today, Nodle has evolved into a powerful tool for verifying reality, enabling users to prove the authenticity of images and data through a new app called Click. Garrett highlighted the importance of citizen journalism in the current digital landscape, where anyone with a smartphone can capture significant events. We explored the potential of Nodle's technology to collect and incentivize these insights, making it a valuable resource for media companies and AI firms alike. One of the key challenges they addressed was the difficulty in distinguishing between real and AI-generated content, emphasizing the need for reliable verification tools. They also delved into the technical aspects of Nodle's wireless network creation, which utilizes Bluetooth connectivity from smartphones to locate assets, such as stolen vehicles. This innovative approach not only reduces costs but also enhances the efficiency of connecting devices to the internet. Garrett shared his vision for a more open future, where smartphones can be utilized to their full potential, breaking free from the restrictions imposed by traditional telecom companies. We discussed the implications of this shift, particularly in terms of trust and decentralization, and how blockchain technology can play a crucial role in establishing a more scalable and reliable model. 00:00 - Introduction 00:11 - The Challenge of Verifying Media Authenticity 00:26 - Overview of Nodle's Offerings 01:03 - The Evolution of Nodle's Technology 02:21 - The Role of Citizen Journalism in Modern Media 03:54 - Using Blockchain for Media Verification 04:50 - Image Authentication and Metadata Security 05:26 - Wireless Network Creation with Smartphones 06:38 - Real-World Applications: Asset Recovery 07:33 - The Future of Connectivity and Microcomputers 08:05 - The Debate: Custom Hardware vs. Smartphones 09:18 - The Shift Towards a More Open Future 10:01 - Decentralization and Trust in the Digital Age 10:11 - Conclusion and Future Outlook Disclaimer: The hosts and the firms they represent may hold stakes in the companies mentioned in this podcast. This week, A'ndre chatted with Eliot Higgins, an award-winning journalist who founded the citizen journalism outlet Bellingcat, a fact-checking platform utilizing open-source intelligence focusing on international affairs. Eliot talks about his initial work studying the Syrian Civil War and the conflict in Libya, and how he was able to identify key war crimes from analyzing open-source and publicly available data. He describes the thought process that led him to found Bellingcat and gives us a behind-the-scenes look at the platform's initial investigation into the shoot-down of Malaysian Airlines Flight 17 by Russian-backed militias. A'ndre and Eliot discuss how Bellingcat and citizen journalism at large have operated in the context of the ongoing wars in Gaza and Ukraine, in addition to talking about the challenges of disinformation in its work. Eliot gives his take on AI-generated images and videos and if he's worried about the proliferation of such content, and whether governments have pursued him as a result of his investigative work.
