Our hosts return to the podcave and sit down to review the highly rated episode, I AM THE NIGHT. Alex and Will take a look at this very somber and dark episode and discuss what they liked and what they didn't like about it. They give their thoughts on The Jazz Man and what they thought of his character. As well as talk about Alfred's nightly rose laying duties, how a kid named Wizard shook Batman out of his mid-life crisis, and if there's a toilet in the batcave. Our hosts also cast The Jazz Man in their fan-casted live action BTAS universe and Will announces that his artwork is featured in the Batman: Unmasked exhibit in London. Suomalaisesta metallikentästä löytyy kuitenkin kaksi muusikkoa, jotka eivät ole itselleen turhia karsinoita tehneet, eli Lauri Porra (Stratovarius) ja Markus Vanhala (Insomnium, Omnium Gatherum, I Am The Night, Cemetery Skyline...). We continue our conversation with Root of Evil Producer and Creator Zak Levitt. On this episode, we learn the true identity of Fauna Hodel's father. And whether it truly was George Hodel.Plus, listen to Zak Levitt's new show The Set. The Set tells the inside story of policing in Harlem's 30th precinct, during its most vulnerable time. 33 of its officers were arrested and convicted of corruption, and the precinct came to be known as "The Dirty 30." The Set is a cautionary tale of what can happen when the world's largest police department fails to police itself, and how easy it can become for good cops to turn bad - all told by the people who lived it. The first three episodes are available starting June 14th, with new episodes every week. Or you can binge all 10 episodes exclusively on the Audacy app.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Root of Evil Producer and Creator Zak Levitt joins us to discuss what was left on the cutting room floor of the hit 2019 podcast. And we reveal new information about the relationship between George Hodel and Fauna Hodel. Plus, listen to Zak Levitt's new show The Set.
New episode out now! We watched the original Swedish film adaptation of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2009), based on the 2005 book by Stieg Larsson. We talk about the extremely dark and jarring themes that are present throughout the story, praise the excellent acting, and discuss how the content is adapted from the book to the film. We compare the intentions, behaviors, and decisions of Mikael and Lisbeth, debate the socioeconomics of being a serial killer and how being a rich man helps one get away with it, and wonder how realistic the portrayal of hacking is. We also really, really abhor the patriarchy, and discuss the different levels of misogynist hate and how it manifests in the film. Katy was overjoyed by the amount of archives, Carrie loves an impressive eyebrow, Maddy is a sucker for a well-adapted book, and Mack gets disappointed by hacker names. We also talk about huge dips in the happiness index, fighting for depressing Oscar roles, and American vs. Swedish jail systems. We cover SpongeBob memes, dead face actors, American Girl dolls, and O'Brien family facts. There are multiple revelations within—This. Episode. Has. Everything! Listen wherever you get your podcasts!
