Welcome back to The Overlooked Dark Knight, the podcast that shines a light on Batman stories hardly anyone talks about! This time out Andy and Mike are throwing a birthday party for Robin! 85 years ago Dick Grayson was introduced in the pages of Detective Comics #38 and over the years there have been a number of Robins and the guys celebrate most of them by choosing eight and a half stories to discuss/gush over. To be fair, they were supposed to just talk about Dick Grayson and Tim Drake (who is turning 35 this year) but Mike didn't stick with that, so there are some Jason Todd stories in the mix as well. Andy was most amused by this. There are stories from the Golden Age, Silver Age, Bronze Age, the Post Crisis era, and even the Post Infinite Crisis era. There is also a lot of Chuck Dixon stories on the list. It was a fun conversation and the guys had a ball talking about the first superhero sidekick. More Texans than ever (or so it seemed) decided to become Specialists of Texas Wine (levels 1 and 2), Texas Wine Ambassador Certification, and WSET courses. Bravo!Plenty of winemakers were on the move.Winery tasting rooms opened, and some closed. Meghan Fitzmartin returns to the podcast for her second appearance 99 episodes after her first (Episode 233). She is an award-winning writer who has written for TV, animation, and comics. She was recently nominated for a GLAAD award for Outstanding Comic Book for Tim Drake: Robin. That particular story arc is where Tim Drake comes out as bisexual. She is also the writer of a new Warner Bros. Animation movie Justice League X RWBY: Super Heroes & Huntsmen, Part 1. The movie ties into the American-made anime series RXBY. In it, the Justice League is transported to a different world and changed into teenagers. In this episode, Fitzmartin explains the story behind the Tim Drake arc and the reaction that came from both the comic book audience and mainstream media. She also discussed the rationale for taking a bold step for a mainstream character (Robin) and still making sure the story is compelling and that his coming out is not a stunt.
