John and Jackie explore how couples can navigate fear and anxiety while growing together. While facing fears can eventually reduce anxiety, they emphasize that no one should feel pressured to move faster than they're ready for. Boundaries can provide a temporary sense of safety while trust and confidence develop. As comfort grows, those boundaries can be revisited together. The goal isn't to eliminate boundaries—it's to communicate, respect them, and allow them to evolve naturally when both partners are ready. Highlights * Fear and anxiety are natural when exploring something new. * Boundaries can create emotional safety while couples build confidence. * Relationship guidelines can evolve as comfort levels change. * Repeated positive experiences can transform anxiety into excitement. * Established boundaries should be respected until they are mutually changed. * Communication, patience, and trust allow couples to grow together. Key Insights *Boundaries Create Safety: A boundary can provide reassurance while someone processes an uncomfortable feeling. *Growth Doesn't Have a Deadline: Partners may become comfortable at different speeds. *Boundaries Can Evolve: Something that feels intimidating today may feel completely different after positive experiences. *Trust Comes From Consistency: Respecting agreed-upon limits helps partners feel secure enough to explore future possibilities. *Talk Before You Change: Boundaries shouldn't simply be crossed; couples should communicate when they're ready to revisit them. #Openlove101 #JohnAndJackieMelfi #RelationshipBoundaries #RelationshipGrowth #HealthyRelationships #Communication #Trust #OpenRelationships #RelationshipAdvice #EmotionalGrowth #CouplesCommunication

I've always said that our relationships are the mirrors of our internal world, but what happens when you realize a friendship has reached its expiration date? In this episode, I'm joined by the incredible Alex Elle (New York Times bestselling author of The Company We Keep) to dive deep into the "taboo" side of friendship. We're talking about why it's okay to outgrow people, how to handle that "visceral" feeling of misalignment, and why some of our most sacred bonds are actually voluntary. If you've ever felt like you're walking on eggshells with a friend or struggling with the guilt of moving on, this conversation is for you. We're curing the "disease to please" and learning how to cultivate a VIP section that actually feels safe. Read the show notes for today's episode at terricole.com/828

Editing takes as long as it takes - or DOES IT? There's a discussion/fight/war going on between those that think that Podcast Editing is not only easy, but can be completed in no time at all. Even the most-advanced AI-driven programs can't make the impossible happen and what often comes with the appearance of the impossible, is the disappearance of the fundamentals of Podcasting in general. What kind of value do YOU bring to those you give as a Podcaster or what kind of scope of work are you delivering as a Podcast Editor? What will YOU offer in the comments section or via the short webform in response? All of that and more will be shared inside this episode of the Podcast Gauntlet where we Throw-Down, Discuss, Rise & Shine in Podcasting! The ultimate success for every podcaster – is FEEDBACK! Be sure to take just a few minutes to tell the hosts of this podcast what YOU think over at Apple Podcasts! How can an editor effectively manage these expectations? Efficiency vs. Artistry: Mike mentions that if editing takes a long time, you might be "doing it wrong," but then pivots to the need for "otherworldly" quality. Where is the line between being inefficient and being a perfectionist? The Weekly Grind: Mike highlights the benefits of a weekly schedule for accountability. Does a strict, frequent deadline improve the quality of a podcast, or does it lead to burnout? Audience Expectations: The hosts mention "instant reprisal" from listeners when content was late. In the modern era of "on-demand" media, is a consistent release schedule still as vital as it was 20 years ago? Raw vs. Produced: Bryan mentions the "hit record, hit stop, hit publish" workflow. For what types of podcasts is this "raw" style acceptable, and when is it a disservice to the listener? The "24 Podcast" Case Study: Using the example of a TV-fan podcast, how does the "shelf-life" of the subject matter dictate the speed at which you must edit? Value Proposition: Mike states that the goal is to make something "unlike anything else you can get somewhere else." What specific editing techniques (sound design, tight pacing, etc.) contribute most to that feeling of uniqueness? The Cost of Quality: If high-quality editing requires a 4:1 or 5:1 time ratio (hours of editing per hour of audio), how should independent creators prioritize their limited time? Evolution of Tools: The transcript mentions built-in "publish" buttons in modern tools. Do these technological shortcuts help or hinder the development of a podcaster's "ear" for quality? The Editor's Philosophy: Both hosts are "podcast editing-centric." How does being a professional editor change your perspective on listening to other people's podcasts? "When resistance is coming up, it's just trying to show you something, and it's an area in your life that can be healed, that can stretch you, that can put you in a position and in an opportunity for you to step into what's next for you." In this episode, Heather sits down with Tracy Matthews to dig into how we master resistance, find the courage to move toward our big visions, and cultivate a more profound sense of trust in ourselves and the universe. Whether it's navigating health issues, parenting children, or building a business, we all bump into those uncomfortable subconscious blocks and stories that keep us stuck. In this conversation, Heather and Tracy share their own experiences overcoming fear, resistance, and failures, along with powerful insights into what it takes to conquer them. What to listen for: ✨ Choosing yourself and "leaning in" to master resistance ✨ Why resistance is a moment to pause and question what it's doing for you ✨ How to dissolve resistance when it inevitably comes up "In the practice of just putting it out there and butting up against that resistance, you actually dissolve and dissipate the feeling because resistance is your body, mind, and subconscious trying to keep you from stepping into what's next for you or to a bigger capacity." ✨ Putting yourself out there and facing the fear of rejection ✨ How to be your own cheerleader and move through resistance ✨ The identity shifts that come up when we lean in new directions "If you resist it, that's literally the next door you should probably open. And if you want to buy back so much of your time and energy, open the doors that you're absolutely terrified to open, because that's going to buy back so much of your energy." ✨ Navigating the hidden shame that comes with setting big goals ✨ The power of pivoting and "failing" when it's aligned ✨ Trusting that the universe will show you the way forward "Sometimes you just have to sit in that discomfort, in that resistance, in that space of not knowing, knowing that if you trust yourself enough, the answer is going to drop in." ✨ Understanding your intuitive 'yes' and 'no' when making decisions ✨ Using resentment to uncover your boundaries ✨ Why business is the biggest crash course in personal development About Tracy Matthews Tracy Matthews is a Creativity, Branding, and Reinvention Expert, a Best-Selling Author, and the Host of the Top-Rated Creatives Rule the World Podcast. He once wore a ninja mask on our show. Now, he's back, unmasked, unapologetic, and wielding ancient energies like a multidimensional Jedi. In this mind-expanding episode of The Skeptic Metaphysicians, we welcome back Benton Ryer, a shamanic energy healer, occult practitioner, and author of The Shores of Eternity. But this time, he's stepping out of the shadows to talk openly about his powerful healing work, and even leads us through a live on-air healing session you'll feel through your speakers. From purging unseen energies to confronting hidden trauma stored in the body, Benton explains the mysterious Japanese system of Ko Shinto, a long-forgotten spiritual tradition that clears energetic impurities at a depth most modalities can't touch. He opens up about how he helped Will during his cancer journey, how most people won't accept healing when it's offered, and why skepticism often masks deeper spiritual resistance. Whether you're curious, skeptical, or already a believer in the unseen realms, this is one episode you won't forget. Who Is Benton Ryer?Author of The Shores of Eternity: A Memoir of SorceryKo Shinto practitioner specializing in purification ritesFormer masked guest known for nightly energy healing sessions on InstagramMartial artist with a background in Judo and Japanese esotericismNow based in Japan, continuing his spiritual studiesWhat You'll Discover in This EpisodeWhy Benton hid his identity during his first interview, and why he's now ready to be seenHow he works with ancient Japanese spirits (the kabi) to clear dense, parasitic energiesWhat really happens in a Ko Shinto purification, and why it's not the same as ReikiThe dangers of spiritual arrogance and why most “healers” aren't doing the real workThe energetic parasites that attach to gifted people, and why Benton says even your spirit guides may not be what they seemHis thoughts on “occult” being misunderstood as “evil”, and why his work is anything butA deeply moving moment: Benton shares how he worked on Will during cancer, and how the results stunned his doctorsThe truth about why so many people reject healing, even when they're in painWhy This Episode Matters This isn't your typical energy healer story. Benton Ryer bridges mysticism and martial discipline with raw honesty, biting humor, and zero sugarcoating. He doesn't just talk about healing, he demonstrates it, live. If you've ever been curious about the real mechanics of energy clearing… If you've felt like you've done “all the things” but still feel stuck… If you're ready to explore spiritual truths that don't fit into neat boxes… Then this episode will shake your assumptions, and maybe even clear your field. Everyday people are the key to seeing the kingdom advance and it turns out Jesus plan' of multiplication is the key to seeing the nations reached! Josh Howard has been a pivotal figure in global disciple-making movements, with a particular focus on South Asia. Since 2008, he has dedicated himself to spreading the Kingdom of God by raising disciples who make disciples, leaders who develop leaders, and churches that plant churches. In his role at Central India Christian Mission (CICM), Josh oversees the church planting school, preparing church planters to venture into unreached areas across India and neighboring countries. In 2015, he launched "Ignite," a ministry that has remarkably started over 16,000 churches in about eight years through movements of multiplication, including over 8,000 churches in 2022. Currently, Josh serves as the Global Mobilization Catalyst for E3 Partners and as the Director of Vision and Mobilization for Discipleship.org, where he continues to inspire and equip others in the mission of disciple-making.
