Did you know that "religion" is not what Christianity is actually about? In fact, Jesus denied the religious leaders of his time and made a point to show them that a relationship with God is not about rules and regulations. It's time to step out of your religious chains and step into a freeing relationship with Jesus Christ! Learn how to do just that in today's episode.Support the show
Have you ever felt "not enough" or maybe “too much" according to culture's impossible standards? Are you tired of defining yourself by titles or the role that you play, or what you do for people? Get encouraged in this episode of the Created To Thrive podcast, Lori K. Snyder and guest Karen McCracken discuss finding our true worth and purpose in Christ, rather than in external roles or titles. Discover the life you were created for, by knowing your God-given identity and value. Here are 3 key takeaways from the conversation: 1️⃣ Recognize the Rollercoaster: It's common to define ourselves by the roles we play or the titles we hold, but this can leave us feeling lost when those roles change or are taken away. By grounding our identity in Christ, we find a foundation that remains constant, regardless of our circumstances. 2️⃣ Seek Fulfillment in Jesus: Instead of seeking fulfillment in the world's standards and accomplishments, we can find true fulfillment in Jesus Christ. He alone can satisfy the deepest longings of our hearts and provide meaning and purpose that transcends any earthly role or achievement. 3️⃣ Discover Your Purpose: Knowing our purpose begins with knowing the One who created us. We cannot fully understand our calling and destiny without first understanding our identity as God's beloved children. Through a relationship with Him, we can find our true purpose and live a life of significance. If you're looking to thrive in your identity in Christ and discover your God-given purpose, check out this inspiring episode. And don't forget to grab a copy of Karen McCracken's book, “Woman Stand Firm: Armor Up in the Battle for Your Identity,” for further insight and encouragement on finding your true identity in Christ. Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney ... Matthew 6: Jesus says 24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. 25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? 26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? 27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? 28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: 29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall HE not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? 31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. 33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and HIS righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. (HIS righteousness is that which HE has led you to do, or has told you to do.) 34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
I know how easy it is to want to jump on the weight-loss train at the start of the new year. But I want to challenge you to pivot. If you know in the back of your mind that you are going to start this and not stick with it, maybe it's time to realize something. Maybe that annual diet only fixes the outside and that's why it doesn't stick. Maybe you are supposed to get better from the inside out and maybe God wants to help you do that. Listen this week as you consider your new year's resolutions to hear what I'm talking about.
Why We Should Be Chasing a Relationship With Jesus Instead of Chasing A Feeling Sometimes deeper relationship comes from leaning into what we know instead of what we feel. Today we unpack what it means to stop chasing a feeling so we can grow deeper in our faith. I pray this episode blesses you. Hey friends, welcome to the Hearing Jesus Podcast. Do you sometimes doubt if you are truly hearing God's voice or if it's really your own? Do you wonder how you can know the difference? Do you struggle to feel confident in your relationship with God and what He says in his word? Do you sometimes feel stagnant or like you hit a wall in your spiritual life? Hey, I'm your host, Rachael Groll: missionary, author, pastor, and life coach. And I have been there. I, too, was doubting God's voice in my own life. I, too, felt insecure about the things I thought God might be calling me to do. I wanted to make a difference in the world and be obedient to what God was calling me to do, but I wasn't quite sure how to figure out what exactly that was. I kept telling myself that I was wasting time trying to figure it out or waiting for Him to show me. Or that I wasn't qualified to do the things I thought He might be telling me to do. The answer for me was found in the pages of the Bible, as I learned how to understand what it was actually saying. If you are ready to grow in your faith and to step confidently into the calling God has for you, then join me as we dig deep into God's word so you can learn to live out your faith in your everyday life. Friend, you are loved, you are cherished, and you are His. The Hearing Jesus Podcast will encourage and equip you to step into the calling God has for your life, living out your faith in the everyday. Together we will break down walls that keep us from growing spiritually. We will dig deep into our Bibles to understand and connect the Scriptures to our lives. We will boldly obey what God calls us to do, walking through doors that only He can open. Join me for your daily dose of faith, honesty, and prayer. Need to chat one on one? Happy Thanksgiving! We wanted to do something special for this week's 95Podcast so we brought back the most popular podcast of all time. Today's PODCAST RECAST features the conversation originally released in December 2020 with Bob Hamp. Whether you hearing it again or it's your first time, Bob has a pertinent reminder for each of us on today's PODCAST RECAST of Episode 59."Freedom is not the absence of something, it's the presence of Someone."This man changed my life... Episode Notes Whenever we talk to others about God, one of the main questions they will ask is, why is Jesus the Way? There are hundreds of religions! What makes yours special? Many have mistakenly believed the lie that there is no sure way to know, that there is insufficient evidence for The Way. But God has left evidence! Join me as we walk through some of the evidence God has left for us, so you may be equipped to bring Yeshua to the whole world, or, if you don't yet know Him, to discover Him anew.
Have you ever messed up I think that God is angry with you. And that you cannot come back to him. Well my friend I have news for you Jesus will not shame you come to him and allow him to reinstate you. Be prepared to change and not repeat what you've done.

We have been tricked into thinking that people should be perfect, and when they fall short of our expectations we cry out “Unclean, Unclean!” We attempt to banish them from our news feeds, from our friend groups, even our families. How easily we forget or ignore that truth about our own lives. If sin and brokenness were truly a form of leprosy, we wound all find ourselves living in one giant leper colony! So where do we turn to for a remedy to our leprosy? Who can we look to as a model for our lives? When Jesus came to the Nephites do you think they were excited? Did they jump up and down and say, “Hurray hurray”? They did not. They did not even say hello. Instead, they fell flat on their faces and tried not to move. They were hiding like rabbits. And like rabbits their hearts were beating really fast and they were really nervous. Perhaps they were thinking, “If we don't move, He won't see us.” Now you might think that this is strange to try and hide from someone who is hovering above you, shining like the sun. Of course He will see you. It is very hard to hide from the sun, and much harder to hide from Jesus. But that is not the only thing that makes their hiding strange. The strangest thing is why would anyone want to hide from Jesus? Listen on for the whole story.
As Christians, we are called to hold a certain worldview. A worldview that is not of our own, but one that is God-centered. But, sometimes, we tend to drift from that view to more a secular one and things such as doubt, worry, shame, and fear creep in. We might fall into the trap of focusing on what’s temporary rather than focusing on the truths of the Gospel. What would it look like if we fought the drift and started focusing on what’s most important: A Godly worldview and Jesus? Instead of worry, shame, fear, and doubt, our hearts could be filled with powerful and sacred signs when we seek the presence and guidance of God. Clinging to a Christian world view in an ever changing secular world isn’t easy, but standing firm in the name of Christ is always worth fighting this drift. Instead of winning people to a cause or a candidate, we could start winning people for Christ. Speaker: Pastor Scott Stevens
We are back to the beach and beyond today as we journey with Jesus to Nazareth. It Began on a Beach is a summer series explores where your faith began. Here’s a hint, it didn’t begin with you! And that’s the exciting part about your faith! The post It began on a beach: Following Jesus instead of the approval of others appeared first on Lawson Heights Alliance Church.
"Why do you doubt me?" Why do we doubt God? When not a word of His will fail! When He knows our every need! When He is our EVER PRESENT help! He is peace. He is the truth. He is constant. He never leaves. He watches over us. He has guaranteed victory on our behalf. He is all we need. God is working, He's taking care of your situation, His power is evident, and then you decide to look at the storm, and what could go wrong and then doubt! You must stop looking at the storm, and instead stay so focused on the One who is in control. Keep your focus on Christ even when the "wind" is going against you. He can and will sustain you. Our faith should always be greater than our fears, lest we start sinking. The Satisfaction of Standing on Jesus Instead of Stumbling on Him (Rom. 9:30-10:4) by
Proverbs in 365 Devotions For more go to braggingonjesus.com Proverbs 21:3 To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice. 4 Haughty eyes and a proud heart, the lamp of the wicked, are sin. You know we can do a lot of things in this body. Solomon mentions sacrifice as being one thing we might do. In his day Jewish people would bring Sacrifices to the temple that were supposed to show their obedience to God from their heart. It was supposed to show how they trusted God and his word and somehow God was going to make everything right and they would be accepted by God and their sins would all be forgiven. Of course these sacrifices pointed to the ultimate sacrifice of Gods own Son even though they only saw this promise dimly through a veil. Oh the promise was sure enough alright. God spoke about it after mans fall in Genesis 3… The prophets spoke of it time and time again… still it was in the foggy shadows… However they accessed this promise and we’re given confidence and guaranteed hope through faith in Gods word. Now, much of Israel though began to offer sacrifices to God in a legalistic manner and not from a heart that hoped in the coming Messiah but in their own works. They dotted the I’s and crossed the T’s in their keeping of Gods Law including offering the sacrifices. They set themselves up as teachers of others and became proud and haughty as todays verses say. I think this is a great lesson for me today, even a s a believer in Christ. At times I wake up and find I have been drifting from shore. I have been doing the deeds… I have been in Gods word… I have been sharing and teaching and serving others in my body… However my own heart has been slacking in loving Jesus as I should. How did I get here? What went wrong? Where did I start going astray? Then I begin to think back… last week or last month or whenever it was I am thinking… that is when my heart began to stray. Instead of finding my joy in the grace of God through Jesus… Instead of being satisfied in his word… Instead of resting in the peace that passes understanding… Maybe I decided then to began flipping the TV channels more as though I might find just the right thing to satisfy me… Could be that I clicked on a few moderately safe links in my social media secretly hoping they would take me somewhere else… Oh I still read Gods word every day… I still shared him… I even found myself rejoicing in what I seemed to have accomplished for God. But my rejoicing was not in Jesus my righteousness… During those times it may be that many of my sacrifices were not being done out a heart for God… Todays text talks about people who are walking in sin yet they are doing some of the same deeds that those walking close to the Lord are doing. But the wicked person does them on the outside only and not from a heart that abides in the Lord. Only when we our heart walks in the love of God can we truly teach others in humility, do righteous deeds and show justice. Pray

How many times in one day? 2. Is it wrong to pray to Jesus? I know what He taught us in the Lord's Prayer, yet I admit that I feel closer to Jesus (because of His suffering and death on the cross, etc.) than I do to God the Father. So sometimes I just say, "Thank You, Jesus," and wonder if that is wrong. 3. How should a church determine the best way to spend the money they receive from weekly tithing? 4. Is the Bible speaking literally here? It certainly looks like people seek after God. What do you think? 2. Who changed Jesus' name from Yeshua to Jesus? 3. [2/10/2019 Morning] Dr. Phillip Burden Exalting Jesus Instead of Idols Acts 19:21-41 by Sermons from FBCOzark
This week's sermon walks through key points in the 3rd Servant Song recorded in Isaiah.
Transformation Tuesdays was inspired by the CD "The Jesus Question" by Matthew Kelly. Deacon Jimmy Ghiglione and Aaron Emig recap the Gospel from the prior Sunday and give action steps and resources to transform our lives for that week every Tuesday at 2:10 p.m. at Morris Hall from Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Collinsville, IL…A Spiritual Home from Everyone. Deacon Jimmy Ghiglione: Hello, I’m Deacon Jimmy Ghiglione Aaron Emig: And I’m Aaron Emig and we are celebrating Pentecost Sunday… The Question for this week is…Are we being disciples and making disciples? The Gospel comes from: John 20:19-23 Deacon Jimmy Ghiglione: Most Christians don’t think about the theological fact that we cannot love God without the Holy Spirit. We have a gift of free will and the Holy Spirit guides us to use that gift properly. We need the Holy Spirit. He gives us power, peace and pardon. St. Paul says, "No one can say Jesus is Lord, except by the Holy Spirit." It might seem strange to say it this way, but when we pray, its God who has prompted us to do so. God the Holy Spirit inspires us, through the example of Jesus the Son, to pray to the Father. Yes, I know it sounds strange, but when you think about it, it makes sense. By the workings of the Holy Spirit, most especially through The Sacraments of Baptism and Confirmation, we become sons and daughters of God. The Holy Spirit enables us to walk with God, to love God, and even to believe in God. Our “Yes” to God, begins first with the guidance or inspiration of God --- in the person of the Holy Spirit. Aaron Emig: Jesus gives us the greatest gift of the Holy Spirit… He is the one that helps and guides us throughout our lives… He is the one that helps us become disciples and gives us the courage to spread the Gospel to all nations… He is to one that gives us to speak from our hearts… Again, by building our personal relationship with Jesus, He will send down the Spirit during any situation in our lives for guidance and strength… Deacon Jimmy Ghiglione: As St. Augustine says that, the Holy Spirit not only makes us capable of loving God; he also enables us to love our neighbor. Love of God…. Love of neighbor. Last week’s Gospel spoke about discipleship. Remember, that’s what Jesus told us in last week’s Gospel, “Go and MAKE Disciples” …. The power of the Holy Spirit is an essential part of Being a disciple, being open to Growing as a disciple and going forth into the world and Making disciples. We all need the Holy Spirit to have a relationship with God, we all need the Holy Spirit when Being Disciples, Growing Disciples and Making Disciples. Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of us your faithful, and kindle in us the fire of you love, so that we may live each day as intentional disciples, and by the life we live, to inspire others to do the same. Aaron Emig: People ask how what do I say to proclaim the Good News? We just need the Holy Spirit to be our advocate which helps us speak from our hearts and that is what need to be said… We need to ask the Holy Spirit each day for guidance… We need to pray for the courage and wisdom to bring new disciples to Jesus… Instead of trying to figure it out ourselves we just need to rely on the Holy Spirit each and every day to lead us to the best choices for us in our lives…. Deacon Jimmy Ghiglione: Wisdom Words for the Week Are… “Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love.” Unknown Aaron Emig: Transformation Tool… The Joy of the Gospel book by Pope Francis Aaron Emig: Transformation Tuesdays Prayer… “Jesus, how do You want me to transform my life today?” Deacon Jimmy Ghiglione: Easter Blessing… May God continue to bless each and every one of you, may He fill your lives with Easter joy today and every day. The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Deacon Jimmy Ghiglione: God Bless from Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church…A Spiritual Home for Everyone
Believe In Jesus Instead of Dismissing Jesus
Soteriology 101: Former Calvinistic Professor discusses Doctrines of Salvation
In the closing of this debate Dr. White makes several erroneous remarks in defense of Calvinism that I would like to address: 1. He mocks preachers who ask, "What will you do with Jesus?" Instead of asking, "What will Jesus do with you?" Yet, in Matthew 27:21 Pilot did ask the crowd what they wanted him to do with Jesus. Is this not still an applicable question for each person to ponder? This question does not need to be pit up against the question regarding what Christ will do with us, because both questions are viable (see debate fallacy: False Dichotomy). Paul wrote, "Now everything is from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that is, in Christ, God was reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed the message of reconciliation to us. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ; certain that God is appealing through us, we plead on Christ's behalf, 'Be reconciled to God.'" (2 Cor. 5:18-20) "What will you do with Christ's appeal to be reconciled," is a viable question? Why? Because it will answer the question Dr. White proposes, "What will Christ do with you?" He will save you, IF you repent and be reconciled. If not the very words of Christ will be your judge (John 12:48). Paul clearly shows us that Christ's desire is "not counting their trespasses against them" but for them to repent so as to "be reconciled to God." What you do with Christ's appeal will determine what Christ will do with you! 2. Dr. White seems to think the picture of Christ standing at the door and knocking makes him appear to be weak. Is Christ weak in regard to his interaction with the church in Revelation 3? Simply because this text may not be about the individual call to repentance does not negate the fact that Christ still passively knocks at the door of the church. This makes me wonder if Dr. White views Christ as weak in regard to how He has chosen to engage with His bride? The concept of people standing and knocking at doors is seen in other texts as well. Matthew 7 and Luke 11 speak of our need to be persistent in our requests to God. According to the text we must, "keep searching, and you will find. Keep knocking, and the door will be opened to you" (Luke 11:9). This portrays an actual relationship with Christ where we are knocking on his door and He is knocking at our door throughout various times in our journey. Jesus is presenting in scripture as the one who "comes to seek and save the lost," (Luke 19:10) and he appears to do so through an "appeal," not by irresistible inward means. 3. Dr. White presumes the narrative of Lazarus being raised is meant to be a parallel to soteriology, but without any text that actually makes that claim. A better parable to illustrate one who was dead and now alive in regard to salvation might be the one Jesus chose. The prodigal son story gives a very clear picture of one who was dead (living in rebellion to the father) who is made alive (Luke 15:24). 4. Dr. White seems to be under the impression that our perspective does not have a place for the judicial hardening of God. Anyone who has studied the scholars from my perspective, or has listened to my podcast knows full well that we not only acknowledge the judicial hardening of God but that we point to this biblical teaching as the very reason to reject the concept of Calvinism's "Total Inability." Why did Jesus speak to them in parables lest they hear and believe, if they are born unable to do so? Why did God need to blind the Jew in their rebellion to prevent their understanding if they were born totally blind to the revelation to begin with? Is God blinding the totally blind? Dr. White quotes texts about God judicially blinding men as if that supports his premise that all men are born totally blind. 5. Dr. White quotes from John 6, 10 and 17 to prove his presumption that God has only selected to save a particular number of individuals to the neglect of all others. Once again the good doctor seems to miss the historical context of these passages. In John chapter 6 Jesus is speaking to Israel (as the gospel is not sent to the Gentiles until after the white sheet dream of Peter and the calling of Paul). The nation of Israel, his audience, is being "cut off" or "blinded" or "sent a spirit of stupor" or "spoken to in parable" or "judicially hardened" or "NOT DRAWN" or "NOT ENABLED." THIS is why they cannot believe (John 12:39-41, Acts 28:27-28, Romans 9-11, etc, etc). However, God has reserved a remnant from Israel to ensure that HIS purpose in electing Israel would be fulfilled. What is that purpose? To bring the Messiah and His Message to the rest of the world. So, God has blinded the rebellious Jews, while using miracles, signs and wonders (blinding lights, big fish, walking on water, healing sick, showing scars, etc) to set apart a group from Israel to be his divinely appointed messengers. It is NOT until Christ dies and is raised up again that he sends these elect messengers into all the world to "draw all peoples to himself" (John 12:32). The means of Christ's drawing is the gospel, which isn't completed and commissioned UNTIL after His resurrection. Now, is that context important to know and understand when you approach John 6, 10 and 17? I should certainly think so!!! John 6: His remnant are being drawn, but the rest are being hardened (not enabled to come). John 10: He is bringing in the first fold of sheep (His remnant from Israel to complete the purpose of election), but the next fold will be brought in by faith in their message. John 17: He is praying for his apostles (the remnant elected to carry the message to the nations) and those who believe through their message so that the world may believe that God sent Him.
