On the impact of rest in our mind and body. The science behind supporting the nervous system. Virtual restorative yoga teacher training.  Jillian Pransky, author of Deep Listening, is an international presenter and a certified yoga therapist. Jillian is creator of Mindful Of Rest: An Online Retreat, The Art of Conscious Rest: Restorative Yoga Teacher Training, as well as Yoga Journal's Restorative 101. She teaches regularly at prominent wellness centers throughout the country such as Kripalu, Omega, Esalen, 1440, Blue Spirit. A student of Pema Chödrön's work since 1998, Jillian infuses her yoga classes with mindfulness practices, compassion, and ease. For over 25 years, she's been teaching people all over the world the principles of deep listening through restorative and slow flow yoga and mindfulness practices. Her message is simple but potent: slowing down, turning inward, and deeply listening to our body and heart is perhaps the most meaningful form of self-care work we can do. When we are more compassionate and connected with ourselves, we are able to be more compassionate and connected with others and the world around us. Jillian's seamless style of working simultaneously with the body, mind, and spirit, while attuning with nature and the environment, creates inspiring classes, community connections, and an integrative healing experience.

Jillian Pransky said, “May I recognize when I need to pause and start over.”We have talked about so many incredible tools over the last 8 weeks that can help us get leverage over our thoughts and emotions...but it can be difficult to practice all the thought work in "real time" when all the chaos and commotion is happening. May we recognize when we need to slow down, take a minute, breathe deep, collect our thoughts acknowledge our emotions, process and RINSE out the toxic ones...AND know that we will most likely need to do it all over again...a day later, a week later...maybe even a minute later. Meet Adi Strigl, resident Yoga Gnome in Doylestown, PA. This conversation is a real dance which all leads back to presence. Just like this Van Gogh quote, "if you truly love nature, you will find beauty everywhere." I think that's what Adi does. And that's what we did here. And just like gnomes, we go everywhere in this episode! https://www.theyogagnome.com/ Yoga Gnome on IG: https://www.instagram.com/yogagnome/ Yoga Gnome on FB: https://www.facebook.com/theyogagnome/ More About Adi: Adi was introduced to yoga at the age of 16 in her homeland, Israel. It was an unforgettable encounter filled with Sanskrit words and unusual posters which left her curious and mesmerized. It took her a few years to realize the encounter wasn't coincidental. Yoga found her again at the age of 23 and has been her anchor and sanctuary throughout life's adventures ever since. After serving as an officer in the Israeli army and traveling the world, she met her husband and settled in beautiful Bucks County, Pennsylvania, where they live happily with their 5 kids. (3 humans and 2 fur babies). Adi has accumulated many hours of yoga training with many inspiring yogis. Among them, Seane Corn, Rolf Gates, Amy Ippolity, Max Strom, Jillian Pransky, and more. She has completed a 200-hour certificate twice (because yoga is life), and a 300-hour certificate as well. Additionally, she holds a 95-hour children's yoga certificate with a trauma-informed lens, along with Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction background. In October 2020 amidst the pandemic, Adi has discovered a need to share the gift of yoga with kids and opened the first kid's yoga studio The Yoga Gnome in Bucks County, PA. She has a degree in Graphic Design and a passion for music. Adi thrives to bring lightheartedness, thoughtfulness, playfulness, and humor into her classes, and make yoga accessible to all ages and abilities. ---------------------------------------------------- Special thanks to our sponsors:::: Philadelphia Table Company IG: @Philadelphiatablecompany phiadelphiatablecompany.com Native Cafe in Doylestown IG: @nativecafedoylestown 12 South Main Street Doylestown PA 18901 Anthony Ortiz Art IG: www.instagram.com/tonyortizart/ Sevis Brothers IG: www.instagram.com/servisevents/ www.servis-events.com/ Duck Donuts | Doylestown duckdonuts.com Roedale Institute IG: www.instagram.com/rodaleinstitute/ rodaleinstitute.org/

FIRST CHAPTER FRIDAYS presents Deep Listening: A Healing Practice to Calm Your Body, Clear Your Mind, and Open Your Heart. World-renowned restorative yoga teacher Jillian Pransky came to the practice of yoga to heal herself. For much of her life, she subscribed to a relentless work hard/play hard mentality, burying parts of herself beneath the pursuit of busy-ness and accomplishment. It wasn't until a devastating personal loss and health crisis thrust her into suffocating anxiety that she stopped racing around. As she began to pause and examine her actions and emotions, she found herself able to unlock deeply seated tension in her mind and body. Since then, Pransky has been devoted to studying and teaching mindfulness practices, deep relaxation, and compassionate listening. Pransky doesn't ask you to “be your best self,” or “do more!” She asks you to “be here” and “do less.” She guides you gently through the stages of Deep Listening, from being present and noticing your tension to welcoming what you discover with softness and compassion. She integrates tools like guided meditations, journaling prompts, and restorative yoga poses to help you regard yourself with kindness and curiosity. Immersing yourself in the practice of Deep Listening will allow you to nurture your own well-being.

Often the most stressful parts of not being able to fall asleep is the stressful awareness that we are still awake, which makes the odds of drifting off even more elusive. “If you can't sleep, don't panic,” says Dr. Parker. “Getting into a Restorative Yoga pose not only evokes our nervous system's relaxation response and settles any agitation, but it can help us accept our current condition. Even if you can't sleep, you can always rest.” This guided Supported Savasana practice was designed to help you surrender and find peace in frustrating circumstances. ~~nOMad's The Space In Between Podcast 100th episode!!!~~ Congratulations to Phoebe Leona and all of our guests in celebrating our 100th episode! In this episode, we take a trip down memory lane of our favorite episodes with nOMad teachers, Phoebe's mentors, new & old friends and others' stories that parallel each other in living within "the space in between". Settle in and discover how others' stories may even parallel your own, as we re-listen to these stories of self-discovery within a common theme of addressing anxiety during times of "the in between" when we may not even know what the outcome of life will be. In this episode, we re-discover and view this theme of anxiety by learning: -That grief can open up the foundation of a true recognition of love, with poet Gisela Stromeyer. -How yoga is a "warm up" practice to real life "off the mat" uncertain moments, shared by restorative yoga teacher Jillian Pransky. -Helpful tools to help us recognize our individual patterns and learn to open up to new possibilities, from nOMad senior teacher Corinna Ricard-Farzan. -The power of labeling our anxiety for what it is, with nOMad senior teacher Samantha Fulton. -How giving ourselves the time to pause is truly a gift, as discussed by nOMad senior teacher Juan-Carlos Piñeiro. -The importance of staying in touch with our friends and learn by their stories, from Edwinna Bernat. -Recognize when times of change are needed, by Dante Puleio. -Know that when the illusions/dreams we create shatter, that we can let it go and begin again, from Prem Bodhi. -The importance of deep connection and living authentically can help us let go of expectation and create intention, from nOMad founder Phoebe Leona. Even though we all may have anxieties in the unknown parts of our lives, our hope here at nOMad is that we can find laughter, joy, and connection throughout these spaces of the in between.
