Welcome to Jungle Jam! This podcast is featured on mobilitytoday.eu/ People behind are three Bulgarians Ivan, Ivo, and Alex Executed by My Mood on My Mind team members. mymoodonmymind.com/ Immerse yourself in a foreign culture. The first question is the culture? Culture is a story. It is the story that we tell ourselves and the story we tell others. Cultures come from colera from Latin meaning nurture and flourish. Culture is like a water to the fish. The cultural shock can help you realize the cultural bubble you are living in. Let’s talk about cultural barriers and how to cross them. - Language - Labeling people -Stereotypes People focus on differences and not the commonalities. Focus on the positive and the commonalities we have within different cultures. Assumptions come from a culture and they are this sometimes I the reason we do not approach strangers for a conversation. Different cultures - Western civilisation vs Eastern civilisation. Seek to understand is to be understood. Fundamentally first we need to become aware of them that they exist. Afrawards accept them and be less judgemental. Tip: Do not take things personally. Growth mindset vs fixed mindset. How do you completely immersed in a different culture? -It is a really good idea to start with learning some basic phrases. -Engage with people. -Explore the culture, restaurants, and museums. -Subcultures - for example going to the local gym and meet the people that workout. Because even before starting to speak you already have one thing in common. It can be anything basketball, surfing, football etc. - Attend meetups. Do not be explore afraid to explore, that way you will be able to stretch your horizons. Send us a message at contact@mobilitytoday.eu Stay tuned.

This podcast is featured on mobilitytoday.eu/ People behind are three Bulgarians Ivan, Ivo, and Alex Executed by My Mood on My Mind team members. mymoodonmymind.com/ ------------------------------------------------------ In today episode we will be talking about communication and how to be an effective communicator. Communication - It is how we deliver our message to the world. Make sure that the message is delivered clearly. Communication is not what you said, but how you said it and the energy behind those words. What happens if someone has misunderstood you. Miscommunication is the cause of a lot of drama between people. Pro tip: Convey your message in your mind so that you can say it in such a way you will be understood. Own what you say. Asertivness Empathy Authentic How do you meintain your opinion and being open-minded at the same time? Stand behind your words and do not believe anything you heard from someone, but also keep in mind that this person knows something you don’t so you might wanna dig deeper into it. What is a good conversation: It is about listening, appreciating and respecting the other. Everyone wants to be heard. Seek to understand in order to be understood. How to be an effective communicator. Conversational treading Cold reading Storytelling Honesty Empathy Solitude Internal communication: How do you speak to yourself is the way you speak to others as well.

Welcome back to another episode of the DrumGAB podcast! This week’s episode is particularly special. Noam and his wife Louise are authors of a children’s book series called Jungle Jam and Noam has graciously provided the book series to my son Harrison and so I have dedicated this episode to my little boy.   Who is Noam?   Noam is someone that is quite inspiring and if you were to simply watch his Instagram feed you would have no idea to what degree this man has achieved in life so far. He served in the Army, published over 100 books (mostly musical education publications), he and his wife Louise have created a children’s book series called “Jungle Jam”, he is the Principal of a musical enrichment school called “Academy of Rock” and is also a very active professional musician and plays for the chart topping band Captain SKA. He is also a father and a husband and finds time for everything that he closely values in his life. After spending time with him through the creation of this episode we have become very good friends and I find his approach to life very inspiring and left me with some very good feelings about my own life and my personal goals.   Key Moments in this Episode   - Noam talks about his time in the Army and how it was illegal to play in a band if you were involved with the Army. Do you think that stopped Noam from following his heart? Listen to the incredible story of how he performed on national Israeli television for over a year thinking he had fooled the Army and his CO.   - Next we dive into his band Captain SKA. They have topped the charts with their song “Liar, Liar” and made waves with the press. BBC banned them from being played but that didn’t stop the flood of views and support from listeners all over the world. Noam also shares how the band has evolved since then and their new song “Sons and Daughters”.   - Noam is the Principal of the musical enrichment school named “Academy of Rock”. Noam gets into significant detail about both his own vision of how he wishes to teach students and the values of this music school. Noam makes a very important point that teaching music to our youth is far too important to half-ass. You MUST be passionate about education and not just look at it as a means of providing yourself with income. This is a great segment.   - That leads us to Jungle Jam. Noam explains that Jungle Jam was all about giving back to people. He and his wife work on these books together as a family and it has filled their home with more love and support for one another and I just love this. It is heartwarming to hear him explain what Jungle Jam means to him and his family and how this will hopefully become an animated series for television and there are other plans for it as well.   - Noam then talks a bit about his gear and some of the common questions he receives on Instagram. He also shares the purpose of his Instagram page. It is literally just a place for him to experiment with sounds and uses the feedback to help him decide what to keep and what to scrap. He uses Instagram as a large sounding board for his experiments and musical ideas.   - We conclude by discussing social media and this is where I pipe in on DrumGAB’s vision with social media and connectivity between myself and my audience and what I hope to provide to them. By this point Noam and I are just talking and reflecting on how we can make social media more “social” and provide value to our community.   Concluding Thoughts   This is the last podcast for Season 1 of the podcast and it marks an important milestone for DrumGAB. Going into 2018 I have discovered the purpose of this podcast and my socials. It is all about providing value and experiences for our community through content and engagement. Much like Noam’s philosophies on life, we share a great deal of common ideas when it comes to giving back and how we view ourselves in our work and our purpose.   I hope that you all enjoyed this past year of content and thank you all for your continued love and support. My goal is to develop further in order to bring more meaningful content to you. It is a journey and I hope that by sharing myself and the guests with you that you find inspiration to stoke your own fire. Make your life what you want it to be. Do the things you want to do. See the results you want to see. Life is precious and incredibly rare so grab life by the horns and make your mark with the opportunity life has given you and shine through. God bless.   Music by: Captain SKA Song: Sons and Daughters   Noam’s Socials Instagram | Facebook | Website   http://academyofrock.com.sg/ www.jungle-jam.com   DrumGAB Socials Instagram | Facebook | Twitter | Website

I got to BOC at 8 AM, having already been awake for 24-hours producing Sea of Dreams, and playing a 3-hour set there in Silent Disco. The plan was to drop gear, then head home for a nap as my set was at 6pm. As the day wound on I realized that going home would be the end of me, so I figured I should tough it out. Besides, after wanting to play this party for so long, maybe this was simply the final flaming hoop Id have to jump through to earn the right. Right? Better said than done. The day wore on. Good conversation, some dance, a burger, a bloody, my throat growing raspier and more sore. Id look at my watch and it would mock me by saying “11:30” or “1:15” . By 2pm I couldn't even talk anymore and was relegated to “that guy who whispers in everyone's ears at parties”. Somewhere along the way I realized I didn't have Serato Cds, a potentially devastating development if I couldn't find some blanks. Thankfully, Kramer HAD blanks which I paid for by promptly spilling his full beer all over him. Now I'm THAT GUY too. At 4 Clarkie went on and sprayed flaming gasoline on the crowd while I nervously burned my Cds behind him. At 5, Aaron Pope went on and reminded us why he's one of the finest dance-music Djs in the Bay Area... Just an outstanding set, energetic, funky, yet progressive-enough for the tweakers. A VERY hard act to follow. By this point, I'm going on 36 hours or so so its basically adrenaline and redbull. I figured my go-to thematic funk/rock remix stuff would be too tough a transition from Pope so I stayed with the more beat-centric stuff earlier, then downshifted into the chunky later as it got darker. It seemed to work really well. To my surprise, the techier stuff was less effective than anything with a rap or a hook (my go-to territory anyway). When I downshifted into the funky stuff (“Earthlings” and “Jungle Jam”) and my own edits, the crowd really just erupted. It seemed like folks were about ready to rock out, so we went there. Towards the end, the security told me I had 10 minutes, so I dropped the tempo and went into a few midtempo bangers with the idea that Id close out with “Whistlers Delight” which ends on Monty Python's “Always Look on the Bright Side of Life”. As it turned out, 3 minutes into this Andrea got them to give us another hour and I upshifted into Neighbour's “Superstition” so that 8Ball and Zach Moore could take it home. All in all I couldn't have been more thankful of the opportunity to play for most of everyone I love at one of my favorite all-time get downs. - MoPo THE SPACE COWBOYS RIPEcast is also available in iTunes.
