Oh, Filmshake may stumble along the way, but at least we're finally covering 1990's Gremlins 2! It's a full scale panic. Are you having a run on the banks there yet? Well, it's rather brutal here. We're advising our clients to put everything they've got into canned food and shotguns! And listen to Filmshake! We also talk our punishment film, 1990's A Gnome Named Gnorm, which is apparently full of bobos, roundies, and nut shots. Episode 36: Peter’s on This One! Today’s special guest on the podcast was “none other” than Tricia’s husband, Peter Heyer! Peter is quick to open the episode by stating that “the majority of what you have heard about me…may be true!” Peter is honest and open in his story of the peaks and valleys he has lived in his life, and offers great counsel to other men through this episode, regardless of how high or how low they might find themselves in their current level of success or fulfillment. Peter encourages listeners to read Tricia’s book Just You Wait, in which she received Peter’s permission to talk transparently about the battles fought along the way in his life, some lost and some won. In this episode he talks about his battle with alcoholism and how Alcoholics Anonymous showed him that “it’s not about perfection; it’s about progress.” Peter is always ready to encourage those who want to bring about change and new direction in their lives. (And that encouragement may help those who are considering a tandem bike experience like he and Tricia had recently. Peter’s summary of that day: “Once we approached the hill, I don’t care how many gears there are, you’re still pushing the Titanic up a hill!”) Peter recently purchased a turntable, and is now educating Tuck and Ty about “vinyl” (a word the boys couldn’t figure out how to pronounce) as well as enjoying a whole world of romantic music to enjoy with Tricia. Peter and Rob share a recommendation for the nostalgia of hearing music on old-style classic vinyl! Sources mentioned or quoted on this episode: Man in the Mirror, by Patrick Morley. Peter highly recommends this book for any man who wants to simply be a better man. Wild at Heart, by John Eldredge. Peter recommends this book to men and also to wives who want to learn and understand more about their husbands. Let’s Talk Soon is honored to promote our sponsor for this episode, Heyer Expectations, an executive recruiting company. They specialize in the fields of technology and cloud design, but also Peter Heyer, CEO, can find anyone for any position to meet your company’s needs! If you’d like to chat with him about your hiring needs, send him an email at heyerexpectations.com!

What are you waiting for? Everyone takes their turn in the waiting room. But when we misunderstand what waiting is about, we can get confused about what God is up to. As it turns out, waiting is actually one of God’s favorite tools. There are specific things God can do in our hearts and in our lives only in the waiting. On today’s episode we had the incredible honor of chatting with our new friend and NY Times Best Selling author, Tricia Lott Williford. As you’ll soon discover, Tricia is an incredible storyteller. I just love listening to her and I know you will too! Tricia’s journey of overcoming is one of the most touching stories you will ever hear! Years ago, she suddenly found herself to be a thirty-one-year-old widow with two preschoolers to raise on her own, when her husband died unexpectedly and tragically at Christmastime. Tricia opens up about her journey through grief and heartbreak to finding new strength and joy on the other side. We also chat with Tricia about her latest project, Just You Wait. Listen in as Tricia shares the joy hidden in the discipline of waiting, the practices of believing God is for you and working on your behalf, even when the work of His hand is hard to find. We hope this conversation will encourage you in the waiting, and remind you that God is at work behind the scenes in invisible ways you just can’t see. Listen in. Friends! Ancient Greeks! Fans of popular fandoms! Welcome to an elongated episode which is basically one gigantic SPOILER for both Game of Thrones Season 8 and Avengers Endgame. (Turn back now if that’s not your jam! Ye be warned.) How does a chelsea boot factor into this? JUST YOU WAIT. (IT’S PROBABLY NOT WHO YOU THINK) + We finally check our dueling style against LMM’s Ten Duel Commandments … don’t worry, our cats are now involved so everything is much more official! SOLVED! + Our resident Grudge Camel reveals which ancient philosopher is on her Sh*t List + WHAT SEES THE HEN’S BOOBS?? If you think our podcast has tackled this question already, JUST YOU WAIT! The universe recently tested Sherry’s dollhouse fixation and whether she passed or failed it, well, may depend on who you ask. We also share what item Ikea was mysteriously selling in bulk - but only in America (we laughed out loud at the big reveal) and we hear from some listeners about how space makeovers can affect behavior in a fascinating way. Plus some interesting lessons someone learned when they challenged themselves to dress in only one color. And we talk about the always emotional topic of textured walls. Buckle your seatbelts. Be sure to check out younghouselove.com/podcast-135/ for notes, links, and photos from this episode.
In this debut episode of Just You Wait, podcast hosts Janaile and Yesenia talk all things baby showers, gift advice, rules for visiting your new mom friend and their own mom hurdles of the week.
