This was one of those rare finals weekends where pretty much everything we hoped for came true. A perennial fave of fans and her own coworkers, the one-time prodigy Madison Keys showed remarkable maturity and grit to win her first major title. She let go of the “need” to win a Slam, and then managed to defeat #2 Iga Swiatek and the 2-time defending champ #1 Aryna Sabalenka back-to-back. Jannik Sinner defended his title without facing a break point in the final. Tennis keeps trying to make his opponent happen, alas to no avail. Plus, we got cracker women's doubles matchups, Novak HIPAA-violating himself, and Sakkari attending the inauguration instead of winning tennis matches. 1:25 GoFundMe update: Thank you!!! 6:05 Once a tween prodigy, then a best-never-to-win, now a Slam winner 12:05 Madison said therapy works … can't argue with that 27:50 After a diversion, a few more notes on the women's draw 33:40 The ceaseless pushing, literal and figurative 38:00 “Australia believes Olya and Brenda” 46:45 Ben Shelton v. the media 53:05 Women's doubles: SMASH on the girls 62:25 Call me OptaAce because I've got stats

Join me, your host Brandon Chadwick, as I sit down with the esteemed Dr. Christine Marie Cocchiola to unpack the complex issue of coercive control within intimate relationships. By using the unsettling coercive control allegations by Olya Sharypova against tennis star Alexander Zverev as our backdrop, we navigate the crucial shift in terminology from domestic violence to coercive control, offering a more encompassing understanding of these toxic dynamics. Our conversation delves into the pervasive nature of coercive control across all levels of society, from the personal to the systemic. Explore with us the psychological underpinnings of coercive control, including trauma bonding, grooming, and the role of narcissism. Dr. Cocchiola and I dissect the multifaceted aspects of control and manipulation, emphasizing the critical need for education on the signs of unhealthy relationships and the importance of early boundary setting. Get ready to embark on a fragrant journey through the enigmatic world of vanilla scents with our scent savant, Olya Bar. This Fragrance Friday, we're peeling back the layers of this beloved aroma, from its sun-soaked, coconut-laced solar incarnations to the deep, spicy twists that tantalize the senses. But that's not all – we're also venturing into the sophisticated realm of savory vanillas, where sweetness takes a backseat to the refined notes of pistachio, walnut, and hazelnut. Olya's top selections, including Burberry Her Goddess and Dolce & Gabbana's Devotion, are set to redefine what you thought you knew about this classic scent. Then, we're stirring up the pot with a look into the latest fragrance fads, such as Chris Collins's chocolate hazelnut masterpiece and the buzz around Tom Ford's 'Vanilla Sex' – a blend that's as controversial as it is compelling. With a nod to the pioneering 'Tobacco Vanille', we honor the legacy of fragrances that have set the stage for today's olfactory adventures. Whether you're a connoisseur of comforting aromas, a seeker of sophistication, or simply scent-curious, this episode is a veritable olfactory buffet, inviting you to savor the delights of scent exploration and find your perfect vanilla match. All Fragrances Mentioned:- Indult Tihota- Burberry Goddess- Diptyque Eau Duelle Eau de Parfum- Initio Parfums Prices Absolute Aphrodisiac - The 7 Virtues Vanilla Woods- Dolce&Gabbana Devotion- Maison Francis Kurkdjian Gentle Fluidity Gold- Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille- Giardini Di Toscana Bianco Latte- Juliette Has A Gun Vanilla Vibes- Montale Chocolate Greedy- Jimmy Choo I Want Choo- Xerjoff Lira- Jove Paris Fire At Will- Chabaud Maison de Parfum Lait de Vanille- Amouage Vanilla Barka- Tom Ford Vanilla Sex- Kayali Fragrances Vanilla 28- Matiere Premiere Vanilla PowderSupport the showFollow The Show On All Socials Using The Tag @skincareanarchy

In the first episode of a new season of War & Peace, Olga Oliker is joined by Crisis Group's South Caucasus experts, Olesya Vartanyan and Zaur Shiriyev, to talk about the implications of Azerbaijan regaining control of Nagorno-Karabakh in a one-day military operation on 19 September. The immediate consequences were the end of the enclave's three decades of de facto self-rule and a mass exodus of ethnic Armenians. Olya, Zaur, and Olesya discuss the new refugee crisis, Armenia's response and prospects for the enclave under Azerbaijani rule, including for any ethnic Armenians who stay or those who seek to return in the future. They also address the potential for both peace deals and renewed escalation between Armenia and Azerbaijan and what leverage outside actors, including the U.S., Russia (whose role has been fundamentally transformed), the European Union and Türkiye, can exert to make a sustainable peace more likely. For more of Crisis Group's analysis on the events in Nagorno-Karabakh, check out our recent statement Responding to the Humanitarian Catastrophe in Nagorno-Karabakh and our Nagorno-Karabakh page. Since Russian forces crossed en masse the Ukrainian border a month ago, the war has been overshadowed by Moscow's nuclear menacing. Vladimir Putin has made thinly veiled threats of nuclear escalation as a way to deter other governments coming to Ukraine's aid. He also announced he was placing Russian nuclear deterrence forces on “high alert”, though the meaning of that is not entirely clear. Recent proclamations by Russian officials that Ukraine might use biological and chemical weapons add to concerns that Russia is laying the ground for its own use of such weapons. In this week's episode of Hold Your Fire!, Richard Atwood and Olga Oliker, Crisis Group's Europe and Central Asia Program Director, discuss the significance of Russia's nuclear threats and what they aim to achieve. They talk about Russia's nuclear doctrine and widespread perceptions in Western capitals about its “escalate to de-escalate” policy. Olya also runs through Moscow's failure to conquer Ukraine quickly in the face of fierce Ukrainian resistance, backed by Western arms supplies, and what that might mean for the Kremlin's calculations. They talk about the potential dangers of greater NATO involvement, scenarios that could lead to the use of nuclear weapons, what that would mean and ways of minimising risks of a catastrophic nuclear confrontation. For more information, explore Crisis Group's analysis on our Ukraine country page and make sure to read our recent statement, “Avoiding an Even Worse Catastrophe in Ukraine” and Olga's recent piece for Foreign Affairs, “Putin's Nuclear Bluff”.
