Episode 62 is here pals! It's our Chris Things Art "Match of the Week" Edition w/ my dear friend Bradley, chattin' 2 of my favourite matches that we've watched of late, my illustrations of said matches, a bunch of Lucha talk & also a surprise little chat about Robert Eggers' Nosferatu! Those matches being that 2001 Dr. Wagner Jr. vs Atlantis CMLL classic (AGAIN!) & of course, the 'main event' of my most recent Wrestling Club in person event at Scratch, the year 2000's Aja Kong vs KAORU bout that likely has left quite the mark on all who've seen it!In my "Latest in the world of Chris Things" intro monologue, I chat about the totally delightful time that was this pst weekend. Including a wonderful Lucha Fantastica event in Melbourne & getting along to The Scratch's 'big ol' Weekend of Tartness' that featured my current solo show (still up in what I assume to be it's closing days if you haven't caught it yet!) & some utterly amazing kitting out of the bar & staff to the wonderful world of Lucha Libre! I also have a little ponder about whether or not it's a bit 'wanky' for me to like to hang around my own art shows as much as I do.Enjoy!!Check out the Chris Things MOTW illustrations in question here: M.O.T.W. 72: Dr. Wagner Jr. vs AtlantisM.O.T.W. 73: Aja Kong vs KAORUChrisThings.com.au is the place for original art, prints, calendars & much more!Follow us on Instagram: @ChrisThings, @DegreehanArt @SocialSuplexFollow us on Twitter: @ChrisThings, @SocialSuplexLike on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/SocialSuplex/Join our Discord: https://discord.gg/QUaJfaCVisit our website for news, columns, and podcasts: https://socialsuplex.com/Join the Social Suplex community Facebook Group: The Wrestling (Squared) CircleWrestling-Art with Chris Things is the Pro-Wrestling Art niche Podcast of the Social Suplex Podcast Network. Kris and David are guestless as we discuss the week that was March 22-28, 1995.We start off with the WWF, as WrestleMania XI is around the corner, so we talk about the go-home Raw, which was an interesting show as it featured just one match and was largely a clip show hyping up Mania. We talk about the weird booking at this time, as well, as there were more intriguing matches and angles on TV than the ones featuring the same wrestlers at Mania. Then we go international, where Dave Meltzer is in Japan again, but the focus is on the big All Japan Women show at Yokohama Arena, where Manami Toyota won the WWWA Title from Aja Kong in the main event. Dave also attended other shows, as well and we have the reviews of those, plus all the other news and views from Japan, Mexico, and more.Next we go back to the United States, where we talk about some funky indie shows in the Northeast, John Arezzi trying to get AAA back on American PPV without WCW's help, Al Snow and Unabomb cosplaying as the Rock 'n' Roll Express on SMW TV, Marcus Dupree making an impact on Memphis TV, and lots more. Then we close with WCW, where Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair are having major issues both on and off TV as the power structure of the company is changing by the minute, and on TV, we have Lord Steven Regal trying to turn Bobby Eaton into a Blue Blood, plus lots more. This is an extremely fun show, so check it out!!!!Timestamps:0:00:00 WWF0:49:05 Japan: AJPW, NJPW, WAR, BJPW, FMW, Michinoku Pro, W*ING, West Japan, & Dave Meltzer at AJW's Yokohama Arena show 1:32:51 Other North America: CRMW, AAA, CMLL, Monterrey, & Tijuana1:50:36 Classic Commercial Break1:53:24 Halftime2:41:26 Other USA: CenturyWA, USofA, ESW (Long Island), NWANJ, ECW, John Arezzi, Steel City, MEWF, CAPW, MTW, SMW, USWA, & NWA Dallas3:35:54 WCW4:08:31 Patreon Preview: Bruce Mitchell on Paul Heyman and Eddie Gilbert working promoters and reportersTo support the show and get access to exclusive rewards like special members-only monthly themed shows, go to our Patreon page at Patreon.com/BetweenTheSheets and become an ongoing Patron.
