Sind wir eigentlich nicht ganz dicht? Warum schauen wir sowas?Solche Fragen stellen wir uns regelmäßig, wenn wir einen Anime schauen, von dem wir eigentlich wissen, dass er… sagen wir mal… nicht ganz so gut ist.

Morgen am 1. März beginnt für die Meteorologen der Frühling, gefühlt aber ist er schon seit ein paar Tagen da. Die Temperaturen erreichen bis zu 20°. Der Winter war lang und schneereich, aber jetzt gehören Frieren, Frost und Flocken der Vergangenheit an. Pfarrer Thomas Dörken-Kucharz aus Frankfurt begrüßt mit uns die neue Jahreszeit:

Über Monate gehypt, jetzt ist sie endlich da! Die Winter-Season startet 2026 mit einem Knall! Heiß ersehnte Fortsetzungen, interessante Neulinge und dann noch eine echte Überraschung. Wie viele Titel z.B. auf MAL über 8 sind, lässt das Otaku-Herz höher schlagen. Bei so einer Auswahl war es natürlich schwierig sich auf wenige Titel zu beschränken. Julian hat erstmal keine gute Zeit: Privat noch zu beschäftigt gewesen, um "Frieren" zu schauen, und dann hat sein Lieblings-Villainess-Titel "The Holy Grail of Eris" auch noch eine komplett enttäuschende Adaption bekommen. Zum Ausgleich gibt es endlich wieder einen richtig tollen Fate-Titel, den sogar Lukas begeistert schauen kann. An Action fehlt es dieser Season auch nicht, mit z.B. dem großartig animierten "Sentenced to Be A Hero" und "Jujutsu Kaisen" Staffel 3. Überraschend ist aber, dass trotz dieser ganzen Top-Titel eine zunächst unscheinbare Serie den Titel des Anime of the Season streitig zu machen scheint: "Journal With Witch" ist ein solcher Titel, der nicht nur in Anime etwas ganz Besonderes ist. Menschlich, inspirierend und mit Figuren, in denen man sich wiedererkennen kann. Kurzer Hinweis aufgrund der verspäteten Veröffentlichung: Zum Aufnahmezeitpunkt hatten die meisten Serien der Season ca. Folge 4 veröffentlicht.

Crunchyroll has recently revealed an overview of upcoming English-dubbed anime for the Winter 2026 season. In the list, Frieren Season 2 has been included, which means the series is definitely receiving an English dub within January to March 2026. Additionally, Season 1 of Frieren received its English dub after two weeks of the anime's Japanese debut. If this new season were to follow the same pattern, then the Frieren Season 2 English dub is expected to be released January 30, 2026.
