Rabbi Jacobson will discuss the following topics:What is the connection between this Omer period, Lag B'Omer and the weekly Torah portion? Revealing the hidden and deeper good even in negative experiences What is the central theme of this week's Torah chapter? Is Judaism rigid or flexible? Static or dynamic? What personal and global lessons does it offer us for our times? Why are some blessings so great that they have to be hidden within curses?   Is it appropriate to get an aliya when they read the tochacho? Why did the Mitteler Rebbe not learn from the Alter Rebbe's previous readings that the curses are actually blessings? Can we say that the only reason we are still in golus is due to the pleasure Hashem gets from our effort to overcome the darkness and the challenges it presents? What is the difference between Lag B'Omer and Yud Tes Kislev? Should Israel be relying on America for protection? What can we learn from Rashbi's criticizing the Roman government? Why does Lag B'omer, the Mattan Torah of the Inner Torah, precede Shavuos? Is the Zohar the source of Chassidus? Why did Rabbi Akiva's students stop dying? Why are we allowed to sing during the days of Sefirah? What is the difference between sefiros and partzufim? What is the personal application of Yesod?  Is this week a good time to receive blessings to conceive healthy children? Can you share a few stories about his relationship with the Rebbe?

Seemingly, how is it possible that Rashbi, who said, “I am able to exempt the entire world from judgment” (and by saying it, he caused it to come down and be revealed in this physical world) would hold that the entire community would be “excluded” from bringing the Korban Pesach? The explanation is that, to the contrary, Rashbi held that the community doesn't bring the Pesach Sheini because it doesn't need to: When the community cries out “Why should we be excluded?” and they yearn to bring the korban etc. – that itself already has the effect of the Korban Pesach. (Similar to how we don't say Tachanun on meritorious days because the merit of the day itself causes that Tachanun isn't needed.) This is especially true considering the fact that Rashbi was the Nasi of his generation, who saw his own qualities in the people of his generation: because he was able to accomplish his Divine service in a spiritual fashion, he held that the community didn't need to physically bring the Pesach Sheini. (Similar to the story of the Mitteler Rebbe pausing Yechidus until he was able to identify within himself – in a most subtle form – the issue for which someone needed a tikkun).4 excerpts from sichah of Pesach Sheini 5743 For a transcript in English of the Sicha: https://thedailysicha.com/?date=12-05-2025

(Further examination is required as to why we don't find this with other tzaddikim.) Being that “the Nasi is everything”, it is understood that this quality extends to all who follow in his ways. His yahrzeit, when all the “service he worked throughout his entire life…is revealed and shines openly…and works salvations in the midst of the earth,” empowers us to bring the positive resolutions made on this day to fruition.2 excerpts from sichah of 10 Kislev 5740 For a transcript in English of the Sicha: https://thedailysicha.com/?date=10-12-2024

The Mitteler Rebbe's Chassidim would sing this niggun,, and they would add that nevertheless, a little mashkeh is necessary for journey until you get to the inn. The lesson is: the Jewish people are the “handiwork of Hashem,” and therefore they are eternal; even the body of a Jew is holy and was chosen by Hashem, and will also be eternal (which is why every Jew has a portion in the World to Come, the World of Resurrection), and ultimately, “he who is banished will not be cast away” – they will all arrive at their true place, the “inn.” But nevertheless it is demanded of a Jew that until he gets there, he needs a little “mashke” in order to endure the travails of the journey. Similarly, although one knows that the ultimate performance of mitzvos will be only when Moshiach comes, he must not wait until then in order to fulfill them, because in order to get there he needs to keep the mitzvos. Since it is certain that every Jew will become one who learns Torah and keeps mitzvos fully, why should he make it harder for himself and make the journey to the “inn” longer, when he could get there sooner and more comfortably?!2 excerpts from sichah of Simchas Beis Hashoevah 5717 For a transcript in English of the Sicha: https://thedailysicha.com/?date=10-11-2024

משיחת מוצאי ל"ג בעומר ה'תש"מ ל"הנחה פרטית" או התרגום ללה"ק של השיחה: https://thedailysicha.com/?date=26-05-2024 Synopsis The Midrash tells the story of a couple who had been married for ten years without having children, they came to Rabbi Shimon ben Yochai to get divorced. Rabbi Shimon ben Yochai told them, “Just as you were married with food and drink, so too, you shall not separate except with food and drink.” They went and made a great feast, at which the husband became intoxicated. “He said to her, ‘My daughter, see any valuable object that I have in the house, take it and go to your father's house.'” After he fell asleep, she told her servants and maidservants to take him to her father's house. When he awoke and asked why he was there she replied, “There is no object in the world more valuable to me than you!” They went back to Rabbi Shimon ben Yochai who davened for them, and they were blessed with children. The Midrash states that this teaches you that “just as the Holy One, blessed be He, remembers the barren, so too, the righteous remember the barren.” This can be connected to the miracles known to occur by the Mitteler Rebbe on Lag B'Omer, primarily that of people being blessed with children. (In the spiritual sense – getting the parents and children to walk the same path together, the path of Hashem). And the Midrash concludes: “The Jewish people, who await the salvation of the Holy One, blessed be He, every day and say, ‘We have no valuable object in the world but You' – all the more so” that Hashem fulfills their request. May it be His will that through our deeds and our service, especially the activities associated with “the day of Rabbi Shimon ben Yochai's joy” (and especially the activities done with children), we will merit to see it very soon with our physical eyes.Excerpt from sichah of Motza'ei Lag B'Omer 5740 For a transcript in English of the Sicha: https://thedailysicha.com/?date=26-05-2024 לע”נ מרת לאה בת ר' זאב ע"ה ליום היארצייט שלה ל"ג בעומר. ת.נ.צ.ב.ה.נדבת בנה ר' אברהם דוד הכהן שי' טייטעלבוים

And this is the lesson from Yud Kislev: to devote ourselves personally, involving our own bodies, to all aspects of spreading the wellspring to the outside and finding ways to bring a maamar or teaching or directive to every single Jew!Excerpt from sichah of Yud Kislev 5745 For a transcript in English of the Sicha: https://thedailysicha.com/?date=23-11-2023 לזכות שלום הכהן בן פריידא שי' ליום ההולדת שלו י' כסלו - לשנת ברכה והצלחה, ואריכות ימים ושנים טובות

משיחת פורים ה'תשל"ה ל"הנחה פרטית" או התרגום ללה"ק של השיחה: https://thedailysicha.com/?date=27-10-2023 Synopsis On the posuk, “The Jews had light and joy, and gladness (sason) and honor,” the Mitteler Rebbe explains that sason means hidden joy. This is the connection between the Gemara's statement that “sason refers to milah” – because the joy (“they accepted it upon themselves with joy”) of a bris milah (Parashas Lech Lecha) is hidden, since the baby experiences pain and the father sees “his son's blood being spilled.” Similarly, in the era when “we are still servants to Achashverosh,” there is pain in the world, to the extent that we can only experience hidden joy – sason – and even that is difficult to attain. But just as the mitzvah of milah involves pain, and nevertheless, one has (hidden) joy, because he understands that this is the only way to make an “everlasting covenant in your flesh” (because Hashem wanted us to perfect the world, which is why He doesn't cause people to be born circumcised) – so, too, regarding the pain in the world etc.Excerpt from sicha of Purim 5735 For a transcript in English of the Sicha: https://thedailysicha.com/?date=27-10-2023 לע"נ ר' טובי'ה ב"ר חיים יהושע ע"ה זקלס ליום היארצייט שלו י"ב מרחשון. ת.נ.צ.ב.ה.נדבת ר' מאיר שי' זקלס

One of the Baal Hatanya's sons, Reb DovBer (who later became the Mitteler Rebbe) was known as not just a genius but a huge eved Hashem. Someone who davened with intense dveykus. The mayseh goes when the future Mitteler Rebbe was young, when he was married he went to his in-laws in a different town for a shabbos. He noticed at shul when he was davening there was a particular yid wasn't davening with as much kavannah and hislahavus that this jew could have. The Rebbe saw it as part of his avodah to help other yidden so he went over and told this yid we can all work on our tefillah and you too. This yid said I know, I need to work on it and maybe I'll get to the point where I'm doing as good as I can do and maybe even as good as you. Let me tell you why we are different. My parents are simple people. When my parents were having a kid Hashem saw that my parents were trying, simple yidden. So Hashem gave simple parents a simple child. I'm a simple neshama. Not only am I simple, I was raised in a home that was g-d feeling. I went to yeshiva but when I was 14-15 years old I had to go help my father make a parnassah. The years went on, I daven 3 times a day, go to the mikvah I learn whenever I can but that's as far as my education goes. When it was time to have my own parnassah, my mazal was that I work in the shuk, I sell merchandise. So what do you think I do in my store all day? I'm talking to people and hondling all day, constantly. The truth is, most of my clients are non-jewish farmers. I sell farming equipment and most of the clients are non-jews. When they come and they hondle enough they're finally ready to pay but they don't have the money on the. So I have to keep track, write down they're name and address and it's a whole process to get the money. These are farmers, they work very early in the morning so I have to get there very early, before sunrise to get to their house. Then when I get there they see me and they know I'm here to collect money so they try to push it off, have me sit down, meet their family and then maybe I'll get their money. That's my life. When I come home, I'm already tired and I shlep myself to mincha and Maariv. I will try to open a sefer a mishna. Is my kavannah perfect? No. But it's the best I can do this is the pekelach I was dealt with. And now he says, let's turn to you. What about you? Your parents, your father, your mother are the tzadikim of the generation and have big big neshamos. What kind of neshmos did Hashem give them? A big neshama, so you have one too. Now that you have a big neshama, you were raised in the house of the Baal Hatanya. Raised in the house of Tzadikim, to people who are devoting their lives to Avodas Hashem. You don't have to do anything but sit and learn and devote yourself to avodas Hashem. You have to appreciate where you come from and where I come from. That was the end of the conversation. The Rebbe never ever had a conversation like that. No one ever spoke to him like that. He was mamash shaken up. At the end of the day this yid's right. What is my entire Avodah's worth? Everything that I'm committing all my Avodas Hashem maybe is nothing compared to them. It's true that my davening is greater than his, but based on the background that I have he's right. He laid out the situation very well. Who knows what my avodah's worth, maybe it's worth much less than this yid. He was mamash shaken up to the core like this. He decided after Shabbos was over he'll go back home to his father, he's going into yechidus by the Baal Hatanya to work this out. As a side note, by these tzadikim obviously the Baal Hatanya was his father, but he was also his Rebbe. It's a funny,...

TYH Nation PresentsHold on to Shabbos with Stories of Tzadikimwith Rav Yussie Zakutinsky/ Farbrengable Studios----Gut Voch everybody, I'll tell you a mayseh.

Rabbi Jacobson will discuss the following topics: Chassidus applied to Yud Kislev What is the significance of this day and what can we learn from it? How is the geulah of the Mitteler Rebbe different than that of the Alter Rebbe? Lessons from Vayishlach How does the theme of this parsha play itself out in history, and especially in our lives today? What do we learn from Yaakov's confrontation with Esau? Why did Yaakov prepare for war with Esau and not trust that G-d would protect him? If Yaakov kept all 613 commandments, how could he marry two sisters, which is clearly against Torah law? What is the significance of Yaakov's name being changed to Yisrael? Why didn't his parents give him that name? If a child's name is determined by parents who have a mini-prophecy, why does G-d sometimes change a name? Why did the angel wrestle with Yaakov and injure his hip? Can it be said that Reuven is worse than Esau? Was Dinah in any way at fault for what happened to her? What do we know about the enigmatic Dinah? Why is it that so many important stories are omitted from the Written Torah while other seemingly minor stories are mentioned explicitly in detail? Why are there almost no details about Abraham's early life in the Torah? In general, how does the Torah decide which details to include in every narrative? What should we do about an abusive educator? Chassidus question: What does Tanya mean that our Torah / Tefilah reaches a certain world/reality and that different parts of Torah stem from different worlds? What does that practically mean for us?

What is the significance of dreams? Why was Jacob's marriage to Leah valid when it was a result of deception? Why do some people say Yankov and not Yaakov? Was it disrespectful for Yaakov to sleep on the holy ground that would house the Holy Temple? Who were Bilha and Zilpa? Should we support the new Mayor-elect Eric Adams? Toldos follow-up: Why was Yitzchak's prayer for children accepted and not Rivkah's? What right did Esau have to be angry at Yaakov? What should I do about my husband who no longer finds me appealing? How to navigate a difficult marriage? Chassidus question: Since gevuros will be higher than chasodim after Moshiach comes, should we be focusing today more on gevurah than on chesed?
