We love to hear from our listeners. Send us a message. On this episode of the Business of Biotech, recorded on-site at the 2025 JP Morgan Healthcare Conference, we explore a new approach to biotech financing with XOMA Royalty's Owen Hughes and Brad Sitko. The CEO and CIO, respectively, share an innovative royalty aggregation model that mitigates risk while enabling immediate capital access to biotech firms. We learn the differences between royalty financing and equity-based funding, how the model addresses traditional risk in biotech financing, the evolution of XOMA's business model, and much more. The 2025 BoB@JPM series is supported by Alston & Bird, whose national health care and life sciences practice has more than 100 attorneys actively involved and integrated across the full spectrum of legal disciplines including regulatory, compliance, public policy, transactional, corporate governance, securities, FDA, biotechnology, intellectual property, government investigations, and litigation practice areas. Ricky and his shy, reserved cousin Angela are spending the summer at Camp Arawak, a bargain basement overnight camp in upstate New York run by Mel, cigar-chomping shyster, and staffed by a bunch of adult and teenage degenerates.  Angela is initially withdrawn, occasionally catatonic – but is soon brought out of her shell by Ricky's friend Paul, who takes a liking to Angela in the hopes he might be able to make it with her before summer's end.  But there are forces are at work – forces determined to put the strangely distant Angela in her place.  Bunkmate and camp harlot Judy sees Angela as a weirdo, then a threat when she attracts Paul's attention.  Counselor Meg, who can't get Angela to eat, play sports, or swim, constantly berates Angela for her failure to thrive.  That's when the murders begin, one at a time, first a staffer, then a camper, and on and on.  Mel tries to hide it due to the bad publicity, but as any good camp director knows, murder's bad for business, and the more we learn about Angela's murky past, the more things at Camp Arawak take a turn… for the deadly. This edition of Airing Pain was recorded at the Living Well with Persistent Pain in Wales conference during Pain Awareness Month in September 2023. The topic of the conference was the launch of the revised Persistent Pain guidance first published in 2019.  The COVID-19 pandemic has changed how we live and access services. How are healthcare professionals who treat patients with persistent pain capitalising on this improved digital literacy by using a digital-first approach to improve the patient experience at their clinics? With the aim of this year's conference being to see the person and not the symptoms, how can the patient's voice be heard and kept central to ensure this is done? And finally, how can the Third Sector and the NHS work more cohesively to work towards this goal? Considering whether to include Environment, Social and Governance in your Brand awareness strategy may not be obvious, but Owen Hughes gives you some compelling arguments why you should start to consider it.It definitely ruffled Elon Musk's feathers. Owen and I recorded this conversation in May 2022 and about the same time there was controversy over the dropping of Tesla from the S & P 500 ESG Index and this got under the skin of Elon Musk, Tesla's CEO. Leaving aside the details of whether Tesla's inclusion or exclusion are valid and warranted, it's obvious that ESG is important when it comes to Brand support.Owen is an experienced marketer and pointed ou that brands who do not include ESG in their marketing strategy will eventually be left behind in the race for consumer support.I would add that employers in general, not just the larger brands, need to consider ESG from the perspective of the choices employees will make when deciding which employers matches their values. We saw when companies adopted the ‘new safety regime' of the 80's and 90's they were rewarded with contracts because of their values towards safety.More recently Psychological Safety has become an important focus for all levels of business. I don't see this happening in the short term, but as ESG becomes a more accepted and possibly even driven by compliance, it will need to become a consideration, so you may as well get ahead of the curve.I'd place this in two camps, the first being risk management and the second being corporate culture. The obvious one is marketing but I feel you need to get the context right before you launch into execution.Owen HughesDirector - Eyes Wide Open CommunicationBusiness Development - CSR AccreditationCSR Accreditation websiteOwen Hughes LinkedIn Stephen Sandor CEO Inspiring BusinessInspiring Business website - www.inspiringbusiness.netBook an Exploration Call here - https://inspiringbusiness.net/exploration-call-booking/The Scale to Success Strategy - https://inspiringbusiness.net/deep-dive-program/Stephen Sandor LinkedIn https://www.linkedin.com/in/stephen-sandor/Inspiring Business LinkedIn https://www.linkedin.com/company/inspiring-businessFacebook https://www.facebook.com/inspiringbusinessaustraliaRiverside Subscription

Our first special episode in a while, and this week we are really thinking outside of the box. We've taken the day off of video games, to talk about video game movies. See how imaginative we can be? We've dragged in, for the first time ever, Failed Critics head honcho and Set The Tape boss man Owen Hughes to join returning guest and all round beautiful man Matt Lambourne to chime in with hosts John Miller and Andrew Brooker in talking about the latest Tomb Raider iteraiton to hit the silver screen and then retro-nostalgiafest Ready Player One for a little while before ressurection the most sacred of Failed Critics features. That's right. We are doing a video game movie triple-bill. Films we love, films we hate and films we'd love to see make it to the big screen. Join us, in a two-and-a-half hour marathon as we dissect these films far more than any sane group of people should and have a few laughs along the way. Join us again next time, but until then why not join us on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Youtube.

Good morning, good afternoon, good evening, good day and/or night, and thank you for choosing to download/stream/listen to the latest episode of STT Rewind. Are we really that old? I know we have the word 'tape' in our name, but come on...And finally in free play we have a snippet from Amy Walker's interview with voice actor Nicholas Briggs - known for his work on Doctor Who voicing classic episodes of the Daleks and Cybermen - to tie in with the release of The Doctors: Monsters! by Koch Media on 2-disc DVD last week.If you like the podcast, why not leave us a 5-star review on iTunes? We're back for a bit. No biggie. Just Steve Norman, Owen Hughes and Paul Field, hanging around recording a random triple bill podcast trying to ride the crest of interest that usually comes during the Oscars season.Resurrected from the near dead, the Failed Critics revive an old quiz - not an old quiz format, literally they replay an old quiz - and chat about what they've been watching lately. Paul revels in riotous horror Freehold, Owen revisits 10 Cloverfield Lane, and Steve rubbishes a bunch of Netflix Originals. In the triple bill section, there's chaos, confusion and regular shambolic behaviour as each critic picks a movie that missed that all important award nod from the Academy throughout history.Don't get too excited; this doesn't actually signal a return to a weekly format for FC. But we're on 288 episodes now. You'll probably see us appear in your feed at 12 other points throughout the year as we push for the magic 300, so don't unsubscribe just yet!If you want more regular podcasting goodness from Owen and Steve (and Tony Black!) then please subscribe, listen and rate to STT: Rewind over at SetTheTape.com/podcasts. With no Failed Critics Podcast this week (you'll have to wait for our Thor: Ragnarok review next week), it means your sole audio-pleasure must instead be derived from Owen Hughes and Paul Rutland's Bucks 101 Radio show Front Row. The latest bitesize podcast from their hour-long radio show this week features a chat about The Big Moon (again) after Owen ventured into Oxford for their gig straight from the Q Awards, before reviewing Netflix Original horror-comedy The Babysitter. Paul's usual sports round-up is somewhat sacrificed so that he can reveal the greatest living sportsman - and it's probably not who you're expecting it to be - and much like the BBC News headlines, Trump dominates Roll the Dice. Welcome to another episode of the Failed Critics Podcast. This one is actually being published within a reasonable amount of time since the recording. Aren't we spoiling you, eh! In it, hosts Steve Norman and Owen Hughes chat about the new Star Wars: The Last Jedi trailer as well as react to the Harvey Weinstein sexual abuse news. In What We've Been Watching, Steve reviews survival romance drama The Mountain Between Us, starring Kate Winslet and Idris Elba, and Owen takes a trip to the cinema for Loving Vincent, the hand-painted animated mystery noir about the life and death of Vincent Van Gogh. However, the main release review this week is Blade Runner 2049, Denis Villeneuve's long-awaited sequel to Ridley Scott's science fiction classic, starring Ryan Gosling as a replicant caught up in the search for a missing key.
