Ravina Kullar, PharmD, MPH, FIDSA, an Infectious Disease pharmacist and Epidemiologist, spoke with Pharmacy Podcast Network (PPN) founder and CEO, Todd Eury, about the importance of remaining vigilant against COVID-19 and staying up to date with vaccinations. Dr. Kullar specifically touched on anti-microbial resistance, which arises from an overutilization of antibiotics and inappropriate dosing. She also stressed to pharmacists that even post-pandemic it is important to vaccinate everyone, not only against COVID-19, but also against influenza, pneumonia, and RSV. Though a healthy immune system does a terrific job of fighting these viruses, as Dr. Kullar noted, vaccines are essential in providing our systems with the extra boost they need, particularly in those who are immunocompromised. Dr. Ravina Kullar is a pioneer in studying and combating antibiotic resistance–one of the greatest threats to global health. As one of the foremost global experts on infectious diseases, Dr. Kullar has published over 30 research papers on antibiotic resistance, and she strives to empower everyone in the world to be part of the solution.

A new report cites anonymous sources who say the FBI found a nuclear document at former President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago home. Polling shows President Joe Biden's recent speech in Pennsylvania is not sitting well with most Americans. However, the president's overall approval rating has seen a boost. The Biden administration is rolling out a new COVID-19 booster shot this week. It may become an annual shot. We'll tell you what health officials are saying about it. Last year, Biden signed a law that prohibits buying products made with Uyghurs slave labor in the Xinjiang region of China. But here in America, we are finding products that appear to come from that region. The U.S. Air Force launched an intercontinental ballistic missile off the coast of California just after 1 a.m. Wednesday morning. Air Force officials said that the launch was just a test and planned well in advance. ⭕️Watch in-depth videos based on Truth & Tradition at Epoch TV

This episode takes an overall view of COVID 19 and its impact on reputation. Simon points out that the damage to reputations was only slight as most people really aren't interested in the internal affairs of other places. Image seems to be following expectations. People assume that Sweden managed the pandemic well even though they didn't. The later discussion highlights the importance of real global collaboration and the problems of misinformation/disinformation evident during the pandemic. Nick notes the problem of opinions which should have been lightly held becoming full components of political/tribal identity. Simon notes the problem of politicians learning that lying to the public has few consequences. They agree that flaws in media became highly visible. Simon expresses the hope that the negative example of collective responses to the pandemic might guide a better response to climate change. The discussion closes with a plea for more critical thinking.

Based on the textbook definition, to recreate means “to impart fresh life to; refresh mentally or physically.” It also means, “to create (something) again, duplicate.” As we experience the greatest public health crisis in our lifetimes, what does it mean for us to “recreate” during these trying times? For some of us, our attempts may remind us of Denise Huxtable's infamous recreation of the “Gordon Gartrell” shirt, much to her brother Theo's chagrin. While we are all wading through this pandemic, the Tangent Talk examines current themes by imparting ‘fresh/new life' and meaning. Special guest, Miss Starr, a talented host and spoken word artist joins us for this fun episode! S4 E1 L.O.I.S It's been an extended absence and I would like to apologize my listener's, but I assure you this episode explains that plus more. I have been to my share of funerals, and in the middle of this Pandemic Covid had sent me to more that were people I actually knew and grew with. Nothing could prepare me for the death of someone whom I had always loved, but in their lather years had grown into my bestfriend. On September 28th, 2021 Lois L. Fulghum My Grandmother passed away. Every last technique I had ever used ( And passed on to thousands of listeners) in order to overcome mental obstacles, and remain solid regardless of the situations around me FAILED. How could I continue to do this show and push the positive unique ways to get through life's trials when here I was broken. I tried many times to ( and I am still in search of) some sort of normalcy. Now I dont want to be " That Guy", but simply put my new commitment to my spiritual growth is what sustained me. Not healed me, not make everything perfect and better, but gave me enough to push forward another day, which often meant regardless of my feelings ....STILL.... remaining kind to others, and putting them first instead of making it about me. It is a journey barely started, but in those quiet times I have to myself. In between tears of anger, and moments of frustration filled rage I still dont understand. I take it back to the basics and choose to do things OTHER than what seems comfortable or easiest which in this time would be to be angry and mad at the world. Its what my Grandmother would want, its how I can honor her doing things for others regardless of what I'm going through. So join me on this episode as I explain the circus I have been in for the last half year, and get back to #Exercisingourmind
20% of the population suffers from chronic pain. But Dr. Prather points out that our health care system is not handling pain well. In this episode, you'll find out:—The latest on the Omicron variant and how it is "a major genetic change" in the virus. And how the Omicron variant is mild in its symptoms, but seems to affect younger people more. —How it is a "complete lie" that the variants are due to the unvaccinated, but it is the VACCINATED that put pressure on the virus to mutate.—The latest judicial decisions that have stopped the vaccine mandates from going forward. —The four types of pain and how each type needs to be treated differently. —How Dr. Prather's office has a success rate "pretty close to 100%" for Headaches when most Headache patients have given up hope for finding a solution.—Why someone in their 30's is more likely to suffer from back pain than someone over the age of 65.—How the medical answer to pain has been "a complete disaster" that led the opioid crisis, which killed 100,000 people in just the past year. And how Dr. Prather believes that number is an under-estimation of the real death toll.—Why you have to start with Chiropractic as the basis of any pain care.—The role of Acupuncture in helping with opioid addiction. And how Acupuncture stimulates the production of the body's own natural opioids and heals the opioid receptors that have been damaged.—Why Auricular Therapy (or Auriculotherapy) is one of the most powerful therapies in Dr. Prather's office that targets Acupuncture points on the ear.www.TheVoiceOfHealthRadio.com
Sam Vecchio is hilarious and is such a fun time! You will definitely want him to be your best friend after listening to this episode. Since before he could walk or talk or certainly sing, Sam Vecchio has been obsessed with music. With appreciation of all genres, Sam has studied music and artists since the first time he played a vinyl record. With influences ranging from The Beatles and Hall and Oates, to Billy Joel and Paul Carrack to recent acts like I Don't Know How But They Found Me and Lord Huron. Sam started his professional music career in college by replacing a local pub DJ that let him fill in one night and lost his spot when the patrons demanded Sam's return. In March of 2020, Sam had some extra time on his hands due to a worldwide Pandemic (COVID-19) and found himself in isolation for nearly a month without any contact with the outside world. He picked up his guitar, that hasn't seen much action from Sam in years and he started to play “Rain King” by the Counting Crows, the next night Sam played a few songs and returned every night for nearly one hundred nights consecutively (he promised his Facebook friends that he would play every night until the pandemic was over (a little ambitious on THAT promise). What he found, in turn, was not only did it help him try to get through a difficult time, but it was appointment viewing for a lot of his friends, family, and co-workers. Even though he always thought he'd be a Rockstar from age nine, he is getting to live a small part of that dream many years later. He doesn't take himself too seriously and finds it most difficult to talk about himself in the third person. Because he wrote this bio! Sam is currently working on some original music, he performs a cover of "Drive" by The Cars. Make sure you don't miss one of Sam's Facebook live's, like or follow him on Facebook. While the COVID-19 pandemic swept the globe over the last year, experts forecasted a "parallel pandemic" of declining mental health due to the stress, isolation, loneliness, and anxiety brought on by job loss, economic uncertainty, and work and social restrictions. For those who already suffered from mental health and substance abuse disorders, the pandemic often exacerbated their symptoms and created new barriers for treatment.rnrnMental distress during the pandemic occurred against a backdrop of high rates of mental illness and substance use that existed prior to the current crisis. A recent survey from the Kaiser Family Foundation found that four in 10 U.S. adults now report symptoms of anxiety or a depressive disorder, up from one in 10 adults who reported these symptoms at the same time in 2019. Another 11 percent reported having seriously considered suicide in the past month. The increase in symptoms was most striking for young people aged 18-24. In addition, in December 2020, the CDC reported that the 12-month period ending May 2020 had the highest recorded number of drug overdose deaths in the United States, more than 81,000.rnrnAt the same time, Americans, especially people of color and people with marginalized gender identities, are finding it even more difficult to access behavioral health services. President Biden, initially criticized for not including mental health services in his COVID-19 recovery plans, has included $1.5 billion for community mental health service block grants and another $1.5 billion in block grants to fund substance-use disorder prevention and treatment in the recently announced American Rescue Plan. But is it enough, especially for states like Ohio?rnrnJoin us as local experts discuss the current mental and behavioral health crisis and share new approaches to help improve the mental health of Northeast Ohio residents.

Eight months after San Francisco became the first U.S. city to order its residents to shelter in place to stem the spread of COVID-19, the number of new coronavirus infections spiked in the last month. The city is helping businesses ride out the pandemic's economic impact by making it easier to operate outdoors, but more restrictions are likely in the coming weeks. And with many residents traveling for Thanksgiving despite the known risks, we may be looking at another surge just in time for Christmas.

EPISODE 9 BABY!!!!!!!! On this week's episode the guys talk about everything COVID 19 related. The guys start off by giving some background as to what they were doing right before COVID hit the US. This accrued during spring break which affected what they brought home with them. As previously mentioned, pack extra clothes just in case but just like before, Ant didn't do this and paid the price. On top of the students being unprepared, the colleges were also not ready at all. Talking about this brings Kai down memory lane to some “fond” memories of a teacher who disappeared for 2 months then suddenly came back with an unexpected seven page essay for Kai. After an animated rant from Kai, the guys talk about how they dealt with everything being closed down and all their classes being completely online. While Kai was struggling with his teachers, Ant was getting finessed out of his dorm by UCF despite doing everything that they told him to do in order to keep it. Despite all this though both Ant and Kai cancelled their housing and returned home to find their rooms had been converted to storage units by their parents. We hope you enjoyed listening to the guys' experiences during the times of COVID, but we would like to extend a chance for YOU to share your stories. Instead of simply going along on autopilot, it's forced us to think about what we really want and how we show up for those around us. In this episode, we talk about how to pivot in times of crisis, as well as how to pivot your business when you're just plain bored. Because listen, we are not our parent's generation and we aren't necessarily meant to do one thing for the next 50 years. Sometimes you start a business only to fall out of love with it—and that's ok! There's still so much more waiting for you. If you're feeling a little foggy on what you're pivot should include, don't worry—this episode includes a 5-minute exercise that'll get you instant clarity. The coronavirus pandemic is exacerbating the dire poverty and hunger situation in many countries across the world. Aid workers are putting themselves at risk to carry out food delivery missions, all while facing a disruption in food supply chains. FOX's Trey Yingst speaks with Tjada McKenna, the COO of CARE, on what her organization is doing to help hundreds of millions of people at risk of starvation amid the coronavirus outbreak.
We're witnessing an unprecedented moment in American history: the Census coinciding with a global pandemic. The enormous task of counting every person in the country is off to a rocky start, with the U.S. Census Bureau having to postpone or cancel much of its outreach efforts due to Covid. What's more, we know the Census is prone to missing folks, especially babies and young children, leading to an undercount. The implications are severe: when we don't count kids, they miss out on federal funding for vital programs like children's health insurance, education and child care — for an entire decade. Deborah Stein with the Partnership for America's Children joins Anne to discuss how advocates and communities are working together to ensure all kids are counted in the 2020 Census. Then, Anne and Stephen take a quick dive into Iowa-specific Census data, including self-response rates, compared to where we were as a state 10 years ago. In today's episode, Jamie and Sharlene talk about what's happening and offer perspective on how Christians can respond during this crisis.
May we be united in prayer and in heart, mind, and spirit as we do our best to worship “together” under the present circumstances. Whatever you think of this arrangement, please apply Ephesians 4:1-16 and 1 Corinthians 13 (all) so that love and unity may prevail in all things in the flock of God. Tom on behalf of the elders.
