In this episode of the Third Eye Awakening podcast, I am so excited to have Lori Lynne Johnson on the show! Lori Lynne Johnson is a Registered Nurse and Respiratory Therapist with more than 2 decades of clinical experience including critical care and palliative care. Despite a Near Death Experience at the age of 9, she lived most of her adult life with only a remote interest in spirituality or metaphysical teachings. That abruptly changed with the decision in 2017 to pursue a life long dream of becoming a singer/songwriter. Despite not playing an instrument or having any experience composing, Lori Lynne channeled 5 songs in just a few weeks. Late one night while trying to develop a slower vibrato, she felt a tap at the base of her skull. Then a voice in her head said “try it now, it's been taken care of”. When she began to sing, her voice had changed to now contain healing tones. Thus began a spiritual awakening that continued throughout 2018. Her debut EP Heartache and Healing released to Spotify and Apple Music and the first single “Courage” received airplay on country radio in Canada. During a trip to Sedona in April 2019, Lori Lynne experienced a loss of time while visiting the vortex at Cathedral Rock. During a private reading, Paul Selig's guides would reveal that “the illusion of time stopped for an experience of eternity…she retrieved her true self and came back realized”. However, this experience was very challenging for the body and upon returning to her hotel room, Lori Lynne slept for an almost continual 16 hours. Over the past 5 years, Lori Lynne has been integrating her higher self to her physical body, raising her frequency one step at a time as tolerated. Since becoming known as Frequency Nurse through her website, Lori Lynne has connected with clients across North America. While channeling high frequency energy during sessions with clients over Zoom, her frequency elevates, bringing the clients frequency higher via entrainment. Results can include better sleep, boosted mood, reduced anxiety, reduced pain, faster healing, increased energy and improved blood circulation. Lori Lynne seamlessly blends clinical nursing knowledge with energy healing techniques to offer a truly integrative approach to health. She is committed to helping each person tap into their innate healing potential by raising their energetic frequency. In this episode, Lori Lynne and I chat about:-Lori Lynne's spiritual awakening and near-death experience -her journey from Nursing to music -Reiki, energy healing, & frequency experiences -Arcturian energy, emotional neutrality, and how these influence Lori Lynne's clients -psychic abilities and remote healing -Lori Lynne's time in Psychic School…and so much more! On today's episode, Dr. Bybee shares her Harvard University Medical School Media and Medicine project that highlights an under-addressed crisis in healthcare: Respiratory therapist burnout. Studies show that 75% of respiratory therapists have symptoms of burnout! This is more than nursing burnout or physician burnout, but it hasn't been covered nearly as much in the media. As a result, respiratory therapists continue to leave their positions across the country. In this episode, Dr. Bybee speaks with Andrew Miller, RRT a respiratory therapist at Duke University and first author on a narrative review about enhancing respiratory therapists' wellbeing which was published in April 2023 in the Journal of Respiratory Care. He provides evidence-backed solutions for getting started. Andrew shares that beginning to address the problem is simple, but not as easy as one might expect: Be kind. He reminds us that physicians are leaders whether they have a formal title or not and that their behavior sets the tone for the rest of the team. This lesson is applicable to everyone out there leading formally or informally. Whether you're in healthcare or not, please tune in for this important conversation to start making a difference in your own work environment. If you're not sure where to start, Andrew reminds us “Don't just talk about it; do something.” As in, do something small like give positive feedback or show your humanity to those you are leading. With small changes like these, we can take the first steps toward making healthcare more humane for all of us.Resources:- Enhancing Respiratory Therapists' Well-Being: Battling Burnout in Respiratory Care - PubMed (nih.gov)- Get in touch with Andrew: (1) Andrew Miller MSc RRT-ACCS RRT-NPS FAARC FCCM (@AGMRRT) / X (twitter.com) Join me for more over on social media:Substack: Humans Leading | Jillian Bybee | SubstackInstagram/X/Threads: @LifeandPICUIf you're looking to hear more about coaching or inviting me to speak to your group, send me an email at lifeandpicu@gmail.comI'd love to hear who you are, where you're listening from, and what types of episodes would be helpful for you. Honest To God by Jed MorehouseLife is hard. People search, sometimes their whole life, to find meaning and acceptance, but where can we find meaning and acceptance? These two things come from within. God can give you love, peace, joy, meaning, acceptance, and fulfillment. Unfortunately, many people never experience God's blessings. If we obey God and his commandments, he promises to bless us. Obedience is a process and a lifestyle that few people take advantage of. Disobedience causes heartache and pain. Just read the story of Jonah. Obedience is doing God's will, God's way, in God's timing.Jed Morehouse takes us through a six-step prayer challenge that can change your life. Living life on our own is hard. We need God's help! First, we have to be honest with God. Follow these six challenges, and see what God will do in your life.Jed Morehouse lives in a small town in Indiana. He worked in a factory for 20 years before it shut down and moved overseas. He then went to school to become a Respiratory Therapist and has been working in a hospital setting for over 16 years. After putting God first in His life, He decided to share what God has done in his life. https://www.amazon.com/Honest-God-Jed-Morehouse/dp/B0C8Y7GDXB/ref=tmm_pap_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=1697284382&sr=1-1https://www.christianfaithpublishing.com/http://www.KingPagesPress.comhttp://www.bluefunkbroadcasting.com/root/twia/101923kpp2.mp3

Benjamin put his application to medical school on pause for seven years before he found the strength to apply despite feeling nervous and discouraged.
In this episode, I sit down with Amy Coleman, Respiratory Therapist and Certified Revelation Wellness Instructor, to discuss how she overcame a myriad of mid-life health problems after attending a nine week life-changing discipleship course. She found that trauma is a root cause of illness and that the spiritual piece is often missing for those who are trying to heal. She also discovered that healing is not a linear process, that breath work is vital, identifying and managing stress is key, that movement is a form of worship, and that "shoulding all over ourselves" gets us nowhere. Amy now works with clients who are on a holistic healing journey and helps them to "reveal things to heal things."More info about Amy and how to connect:I help Christian women find joy and freedom in their Mind, Body, Spirit and Soul so that they can live free in who God created them to be! He takes care of children and infants who need help breathing--either because of an emergency situation, going in or out of surgery, or because they are struggling to get a good flow of oxygen. It was hard to listen without thinking about how it feels to NOT be able to breathe, but the information is fascinating!
Created February 02, 2023 Part 1: Bryan Ellis is a Respiratory Therapist and a Registered Sleep Technologist with decades of experience, operating a physician and primary care-referred sleep diagnosis and therapy center. Bryan discusses insomnia of several types, sleep related breathing disorders, and sleep apnea. He identifies mechanical problems with sleep, and the many issues that we have with quality of sleep, causes, and remedies. Bryan describes the process of sleep study and related care, and the sleep study environment as well as insomnia vs. respiratory and mechanical sleep issues. Sound and memory come into play. Bryan describes sleep onset insomnia and sleep maintenance insomnia and the distinctions of sleep cycles and stages as well as sleep paralysis. Brain wave frequency responses and ranges determine sleep stages, in extremely low frequency wave patterns, determined by EEG (electroencephalogram). Bryan describes how sound wave research is being done related to memory retention and access, using low frequency sound and pink noise input to the human brain. This fascinating research is leading to memory improvement and may play a role in the treatment of brain disorders of aging. Further discussion details acid reflux and its role in sleep apnea, as well as diabetic related sleep disorders. Bryan will return for a second part at a later podcast. Part 2: Amy and Jay Fisher discuss the Clovis Music Festival with future guests and information. Old, vintage electrical test equipment is described, and the need for testing, analysis, and repair of the analog studio equipment. Jay describes repairing and re-coning of early 1950s Altec 602-B monitor coaxial speakers. Altec 604 speakers were a recording studio standard, the basis of Altec's most popular monitor speakers. Jay details linear air motors which are the basis of speakers, and basic electrical theory. The role of air movement is critical to sound reproduction. Voice coils, magnets, signal, and vibration reproduction creates the sound we hear. Jay describes alignment of the voice coil, magnet clearance, spider, cone, and speaker rebuild and assembly. Hybridization of the vintage analog studio with modern digital equipment is critical for operation. Further information, photos, and history of the project is available at www.jayfisher.com Clovis/Curry County Chamber of Commerce (and the Clovis Sounds Studio): www.clovisnm.org Engineered by Amy Fisher

Rather than spreading festive cheer, I'm trying to keep COVID to myself. But we continue! Alex lives in Southern California and worked on the front lines battling the COVID pandemic, and helping patients as a Respiratory Therapist and has been in the real estate game for a while now. As a child, he first learned about real estate while watching his family members operate a motel on the Las Vegas strip. He then went on to investing in long term rentals (LTRs) in the early 2000's while also launching his career in healthcare as a respiratory therapist. Unfortunately, with the crash in 2008, Alex learned the more unforgiving side of real estate and had to real back his portfolio. Over the next several years, Alex continued to progress in his carrer as a respiratory therapist. He and his wife (whose also a respiratory therapist) focused on their family and grew from a family of 2 to a family of 6, welcoming 4 wonderful children. By 2015 or so, they were ready to take another swing at real estate! Their CPA was actually the one that advised them to consider short term rentals for the tax benefits. Taking their CPA up on his advice, they purchased a cabin in the Great Smokey Mountains of Tennessee. This turned into a wildly successful investment. In Alex's words "it was an ATM machine". Alex and his wife have since continued to buy short term rentals, which allowed his wife to walk away from her carreer in healthcare to spend more time with family and on the business. These days, Alex continues to work as a respiratory therapist and runs an online community supporting other healthcare professionals who want to get into real estate investing. He's incredibly passionate about helping others recognize their own financial freedom through real estate investing and he continues to give as much as he can to the community! Alex Sabio is a respiratory care practitioner turned real estate investor who not only lives and breathes real estate but he does so while still having his profession as respiratory therapist. Alex has grown his portfolio while hiring the best resources to help him and selecting the right kind of properties to maximize thousands of dollars in net cash flow per month to optimize for freedom and essentially spend quality time with his family. Alex currently has 5 short term rentals + 2 under contract and is able to implement systems and does it out of state. Alex talks about trying to syndicate apartments and then his CPA (Amanda Hahn) tapped him on his shoulder to look into STR to material participation hours to claim as real estate professional. Asking the simple question on where to invest next, led him to discover the Smokey Mountains in July 2020. From this deal, he was able to learn a business and then was able to teach it to his very niched community. He today has found tremendous fulfillment helping other healthcare professionals also achieve financial freedom. Alex quickly became the source of inspiration and practitioner to model within his healthcare network. It's one thing to have success in your own experiments but it's another to help others achieve their own. Alex is living and breathing example of that as the respiratory therapist that doesn't need to help others as healthcare practitioner to make a living but he simply does because he chooses to, the same way he's chosen to live and breathe short term rentals and help others do the same. Something a bit different for this 200th episode of The Sport Psych Show. This week I speak to Trevor Whyte. Trevor has worked in hospitals as a Respiratory Therapist since 2006 having spent time on the frontline, on various projects and in leadership. Dealing with airway management and critical care taught him the importance of high functioning teams for good outcomes. At the beginning of the pandemic Trevor was tasked with leading a team to set up and operate a mass testing site for COVID-19, quickly finding traction with his team. Trevor was given the opportunity to become an early mass vaccine site which delivered almost 170,000 vaccines. To manage the rapidly changing information and challenging conditions, Trevor worked to build a team mindset and framework that allowed the team to work in safe uncertainty and meet their goals under great pressure. Trevor has played and coached soccer and has been able to translate his experience in sports to help his healthcare teams find success in challenging and ever-changing conditions, such as a pandemic.

Hello to you listening in Greeley, Colorado! Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Motivate Your Monday and your host, Diane Wyzga.Way way back in the day when my friend Gene was a hospital-based respiratory therapist a department supervisor took a dislike to him and rode his butt day in and day out. Why? Who can say. I'm betting you had (or have) one of those people in your life.Gene took it as long as he could but that supervisor was after him like a dog with a bone. Which gave Gene an idea. One day he walked into the hospital and handed his supervisor a brown paper wrapped gift. Inside was a note and a pork-chop shaped squeaky toy for dogs. Gene wrote: “Chew on this for a while because my ass is pretty sore!”What happened next? They say that hard lessons are best learned with humor and in this case the pork chop squeaky toy worked. The two were not friends but somehow the tension eased.Question: What metaphorical squeaky toy have you used to diffuse a difficult situation or teach a lesson? The Public Utility ModelJohn Silver joins Beth to discuss the Public Utility Model, a plan to shift the healthcare insurance structure, bringing needed healthcare to everyone. A central council led by nurses – which would also include physicians and other allied healthcare professionals – would work to provide a better and stronger foundation for preventative healthcare for the people of the US, not just disease care. John talks about his look back through history to find a model that could work as a way to fund healthcare, and found that the public utility companies were managed locally and with great success. Healthcare spending is like a runaway train and is not sustainable. John's ideas about a new twist with an old concept is worth listening to, as it just may be the way to reimagine the administration of healthcare funding. They discuss John's Declaration of Independence for Nurses and why John felt it was critical to put it together. They also talk about John's program, Nurses Transforming Healthcare, and why it's critical for nurses in this country to come together as a force to bring impactful change to policies of all sorts.Learn more about supporting the Don't Eat Your Young Podcast with a membership — visit Don't Eat Your Young's membership page!About JohnDr. Silver started in healthcare in 1974, and became a Respiratory Therapist in 1978. Mechanical Ventilators, such as the Hamilton T1, ReVel, and ZOLL Z-Vent, are not only vital pieces of equipment used in the ICU and in Critical Care Transport, but they are becoming more popular for use by EMS services for interfacility transport so it's vitally important that EMS and Critical Care providers have a deep understanding of not only how these devices work, but also how different disease processes changes the way our patient interacts with the ventilator. And who better to learn from than a Respiratory Therapist. In this episode, we have the pleasure of chatting with Joe Lewis, better known as the Respiratory Coach, as he schools us on Dynamic and Static Compliance, how we can use our PIPs and Plateau Pressures to identify changes in both, and how we can optimize PEEP by looking at changes in Static Compliance. We also go off the deep end discussing Driving Pressure and how this just may be the future of mechanical ventilation.Check out the video that goes along with this episode over at academy.flightcrit.com.Have an idea for a future episode? In this episode on The Wealthy Place Podcast, I have a conversation with Arika. She shares her experience with being in the military, a Respiratory Therapist, and being in sales. She talks about how each experience was life-changing for her and how it helped her progress within her field. She shares advice and lessons learned regarding being successful and navigating in careers. She also shares her motivation for having multiple income streams, building generational wealth, and what she does to reside in the wealthy place in every area of life. I enjoyed this conversation. It was so nice to share experiences about the military with a fellow woman of color service member.
