Episode 173: PCOC Day 4 With Johnny Winter And, Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers and Fleetwood Mac! January 7, 2025 The Post Covid Outdoor Concert series was put together at a time in 2021 and 2022 when the badly mismanaged virus was eating people alive. We didn't have a clue as to when or how it would end and whether I'd survive if I got it or my love or my children or grand child or family got it and would it kill them. I thought it was imperative that we needed some music that might steer us to a place of comfort and peace. Yeh! Let's get stoned and put on some tunes! I'm not so much a toker these days but the music can still carry me away. Does it you? What Tales are your Vinyls Telling you? Well then, replaying and reworking some of the Peacocks is intended to carry you away to a live concert, peaceful, fun, beautiful, far out, cool, man. Let's dig some of the great Johnny Winter with the McCoys and Ric Derringer, Tom Petty and Fleetwood Mac today. This is the entire concert first created Sept. 8, 2021. You know, if you want to hear a Tales Vinyl Tells when it streams live on RadioFreeNashville.org, we do that at 5 PM central time Wednesdays. This time we salute all health care workers and providers, including those on what some call “the fringes”, complementary medicine, like osteopathy, acupuncture, homeopathy, massage, reflexology and reiki, from here. As we've been doing the past couple episodes, we hearing artists before and after larger success. Tom Petty/Heartbreakers/Mike Campbell share 3. This time of year we know winter's coming and it's nice to get some warmth to light our fire to prep for cold weather. It's Indian summer. Nice tunes named that. John is joined by Abigail Cerra for a conversation about a proposal for a new police oversight commission in Minneapolis. Cerra is the former chair of the Police Conduct Oversight Commission, a body that hasn't met for most of 2022 due to the failure of the mayor and city council to appoint new members. We talk about the draft creating the new commission and its several glaring flaws; Cerra's experience; why she resigned from the PCOC; and how the old commission was ignored by city leaders and denied direct access to city data. Cerra says this is an opportunity to fix those problems -- so that the city's next police oversight commission has the political independence, resources and authority to engage in meaningful oversight. The proposal will be voted on (approved, amended, delayed or rejected) by the city council this Thursday, December 8. The last 6 months have been traumatizing to the church. Reports from informed sources say that the majority of pastors have confessed they are ready to quit because the lack of attendance and giving and the added burden of becoming "internet sensations" is too much to bear. The Christians choosing to stay at home are feeling isolated and all believers are feeling intimidated by the powers that be that keep telling us it isn't safe to fellowship. Our response at PCOC? Pastor Mike isn't quitting. We are ready to leap forward in faith and turn what Satan has intended for bad into something good. We are going learn from Jesus how to express godly hope in the midst of any suffering, share in the shame others feel, and demonstrate sympathy to those who are hurting as they try to heal from their pain. We are here to serve the hurting and this message lays our our strategy. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/michael-simmons5/support

(https://www.theh2duo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/Water_Nerds_Guide_WEFTEC2018.png) 2018 was our first WEFTEC experience, however, it occurred the same week as Water Smart Innovations which we were speaking at. We had 36 hours to take in one of the largest conferences in North America. Throughout our careers, although we included wastewater in our education efforts, most of our time was spent on the drinking water side where the perception was that WEF and WEFTEC were only about wastewater. We’ve learned that WEF and WEFTEC are so much more and are truly representative of the One Water message and mindset. We met some amazing people, connected with old friends and met our new friends in real life that we’d only known via social media. We aren’t journalists, we’re storytellers and the story of our experience at WEFTEC 2018 can be summed up in one word: people. We wanted to share them and their stories with you! WEFTEC is the largest conference of its kind in North America and offers water quality professionals from around the world with the best water quality education and training available today. Also recognized as the largest annual water quality exhibition in the world, the expansive show floor provides unparalleled access to the most cutting-edge technologies in the field; serves as a forum for domestic and international business opportunities; and promotes invaluable peer-to-peer networking among registrants. Curtis Smalley, City of Waco, says, “Everyone in the industry needs to attend WEFTEC at least once, but then WEFTEC is like potato chips: You can’t go just once!” Top Takeaways: Opening session keynote, Kevin Brown (http://kevinbrownspeaks.com/) , blew us away. Of course, and oncologists can do more to impact them, said Dr. Michael Kolodziej, who was the keynote speaker at The American Journal of Managed Care’s annual Patient-Centered Oncology Care® (PCOC®) meeting, which was held in November in Philadelphia. Dr Kolodziej is the current vice president and chief innovation officer at ADVI. Prior to his current position, he worked for Flatiron Health and spent 3 years at Aetna.
