Kerry Group is holding an emergency general meeting at the Rose Hotel, Tralee at 2pm holding an emergency general meeting later today seeking shareholders’ approval of the proposed sale of its subsidiary Kerry Dairy Ireland to Kerry Co-op. Jerry spoke to Aidan Brennan who’s dairy editor with the Irish Farmers’ Journal.

The annual conference of Kerry Comhairle na nÓg was held in Tralee on Tuesday. Young people, aged 12-17, from across the county gathered to give their opinions on a range of issues which affect them and their communities. Radio Kerry journalist Breda Forrest attended the event in the Rose Hotel.

Last Friday, the Kerry Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre launched its five-year strategic plan at the Rose Hotel in Tralee. Attending the launch was Radio Kerry’s Mark Lynch, who brings us this report:

Kerry County Council and Age Friendly Kerry hosted a road safety conference for older drivers. Eimear Nagle and Mikey Whelan from Kerry College’s course in journalism, podcasting, and radio went to the event which was held in the Rose Hotel, Tralee. They spoke to Declan Keogh, Kerry County Council’s road safety officer, Tim O’Donoghue from Driving Assessments and Services in Limerick, who was a speaker at the event, to some of the attendees and to Anna May McHugh of the National Ploughing Association, who is 90, and was also a speaker.

Féile Trá Lí/ Tralee Street Fest will run from August 18th to 22nd. The family and street entertainment festival will coincide with the Rose of Tralee International Festival. Jerry spoke to Mark Sullivan who’s a member of Tralee Vintners and Tralee Chamber Alliance and is general manager of the Rose Hotel. Most of the resources related to parenting and neurodiversity are geared toward helping neurodivergent children, not neurodivergent parents, so this episode aims to help close that gap. Rose Hotel is not a hotel at all. It's a band. But that doesn't mean that their tunes won't make you dream, with their lo-fi, bedroom indie-pop sound. It's the music project of Atlanta-based singer-songwriter Jordan Reynolds. Rose Hotel's debut LP, called I Will Only Come When It's A Yes , is out today. There is an album release concert Friday at 529 in East Atlanta Village. First, Reynolds joined On Second Thought to add to our Georgia Playlist of songs written or performed by a Georgian.
