Il dottor Franco Berrino in un nuovo articolo per il Corriere della Sera spiega come il DNA sia influenzato dall'ambiente in cui viviamo, dal cibo che mangiamo e dalle nostre abitudini di vita. Secondo il medico, il nostro stile di vita interagisce con i nostri geni e influenza lo stato di salute. In particolare, fa sapere Berrino: «La curcuma, il resveratrolo dell’uva, i composti solforati dei cavoli, ad esempio, attivano l’enzima DNA metiltransferasi, che metila il DNA, mentre i polifenoli del tè verde e quelli della soia, il licopene dei pomodori e i composti solforati dell’aglio ne bloccano l’azione. Analogamente i composti dei cavoli, dell’uva e dell’aglio attivano l’acetilazione degli istoni e altri composti la disattivano». Inoltre, «la nostra attività fisica influenza la metilazione del DNA e persino la nostra vita spirituale, la meditazione, agisce sull’acetilazione degli istoni», mentre «una dieta troppo ricca di glucosio inibisce la produzione di microRNA16, che riduce la proliferazione cellulare (mir16 è disattivato in molti tumori)», scrive ancora Berrino.

The Easiest Way to Start a Customized Apparel Store Starting your own online e-commerce brand can be difficult when you don't have a big team. Between production, design, inventory management, marketing, sales, and accounting, there are a dozen different hats entrepreneurs need to wear to get the show-up and running. Tyler McCourt's latest venture, Teamtime, helps individuals get started with zero upfront costs. It gives users access to a free online store and custom designs. All they need to do is sign-up and fill out a form. Users can even outsource the logistics to Teamtime, as they offer free shipping. In short, Teamtime lets users build a fully custom, automated storefront with personal team designers and unlimited customization options. How do they achieve these goals? They use a combination of developers, designers, artificial intelligence, and Shopify to create your store and products. This enables them to quickly provide you with a store with up to 10 products. They're building a massive library of editable templates and an application that allows users to create their basic templatized custom design; users can then directly speak with the in-house designers to modify their products till they're satisfied. All of this is connected to Shopify using APIs, making it easy to set up and edit the store as the brand scales. NFTs and eCommerce NFTs have been taking the world by storm. It's already fusing technology, finance, and art together. Could it also find its place in the world of the apparel industry? Well, it already has! Tyler came up with this idea in college after attending several music festivals; he'd always notice people around him wearing cool shirts, which got him wondering as to why you couldn't wear a GIF. He started looking into products that could do the same, and the closest he came to this were bulky LED tee shirts. He saw an opportunity to create a new product that could reinvent wearable technology, but he just didn't have the funds to start developing it. However, he noticed the rising popularity of NFTs after he cashed out of Emblem Athletic, and he jumped at the opportunity to bring his old idea to life. That's how Dott was born. Dott is an e-commerce apparel store that connects with your wallet and allows you to create a personalized item of clothing with your NFT or GIF on it. Dott gives you the ability to wear your NFT out and then show off your NFT in a way that you couldn't before. It's also great for artists because they're able to promote the NFT in a way that they couldn't before. Dott is changing the way that customized e-commerce apparel stores work, and it could open a huge opportunity for artists, designers, and other NFT enthusiasts looking to fuse NFTs with a physical wearable product. This week Horace and Oliver were together in person for the first time in nearly two and a half years as they got ready for the Micromobility Europe conference. One of the things that they love to do every so often is to revisit the Micromobilty thesis. They want this to be the episode you share with everyone who is perhaps interested in what all the fuss is about. If you're a first time listener, Horace Dediu is the creator of the term Micromobility, and this podcast was where he and Oliver first started talking about it. They've now done over 140 episodes, covering all manner of lightweight electric vehicles including interviewing CEOS/founders in this space from companies like Vanmoof, Cowboy, Onewheel, Unagi, Segway, Arcimoto and more, while also talking to shared operators such as Tier, Lime, Bird, Dott, Revel and Beam. They try to focus on the intersection between the new vehicle tech, cities and consumers, using the disruptive innovation framework developed by Clay Christensen to ask what jobs are being solved, why these small and low cost vehicles are interesting, and what the implications will be on wider society.
