Sean Couturier played only 10 minutes in loss to Vegas23:20 - Defensively, not much consistency. Is this par for the course with the development of Egor Zamula and Jamie Drysdale?

On Wednesday, Charlie published an article putting an imaginary optimistic Flyers fan against an imaginary pessimist. On today's show, Charlie, Kelly and Bill have the debate for real.Should the excitement over Matvei Michkov's point-per-game pace outweigh the lack of centers to match his skill? Travis Sanheim and Travis Konecny are having all-star caliber seasons, but is that enough to justify long-term commitments to veterans during a rebuild? And where are we on Owen Tippett, Bobby Brink, Jamie Drysdale and other young pieces?
Matvei Michkov registered a pair of assists to make him a point-per-game player through the first 27 games of his career, and Travis Konecny notched a pair of goals en route to a big win for the Flyers in Columbus on Tuesday night.Charlie & Bill discuss the win, as well as strong performances for Jamie Drysdale, Morgan Frost, Tyson Foerster and more!

With both the Philadelphia Flyers and Utah HC on the backend of back-to-backs, it was the artists formerly known as the Arizona Coyotes that came out on top, as they were just sharper pretty much all night. With both Sam Ersson and Jamie Drysdale making their returns, the Flyers could have benefitted from the addition of fresh legs, but unfortunately it was t enough, as they just spent too much time in their own zone.Charlie, Kelly & Bill break down the loss and what's next for a few Flyers at crossroads.

Unfortunately, the Flyers 5-game point streak was snapped last night in a 3-2 loss to the Colorado Avalanche. This has been the best stretch of hockey played by the Flyers so far in the early portion of the season. The Flyers strong play and effort have landed them in some close games getting some positive results. The boys will discuss what went right and wrong during this point streak and how they can to get back on the winning end of games. Drop your comments in the chat and be a part of the show! Even though we are still relatively early in the NHL Season, the injuries seem to be piling up early for the Philadelphia Flyers. The fortunate thing is defensemen Cam York and Jamie Drysdale are expected back sooner rather than later. Sam Errson has been placed on IR for a nagging groin issue, he will miss about a week. Last night, Egor Zamula left the ice early in the 3rd period after a hit from Nathan Makinnon and never returned. A season that began with a buzz thanks to the addition of Matvei Michkov and the anticipation of young players like Tyson Foerster, Bobby Brink and Jamie Drysdale stepping up has not gone according to plan thus far. After trading Cutter Gauthier to the Anaheim Ducks shortly after he was named the Best Forward at the World Junior tournament, Philadelphia Flyers fans clamored for the player Briere received in return: Jamie Drysdale. Drysdale impressed early, showing off his high-end skating and puck moving that made him the 6th overall pick in the 2020 NHL Draft. But an injury and lack of production hampered his introduction to Philly and now fans are split on Drysdale's upside, and if he was the right player to get back for Gauthier. Charlie, Bill & Kelly discuss Drysdale's season, and what to expect from the 22-year-old defender going forward. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

Garnet Hathaway signed with the Philadelphia Flyers back on July 1st, 2023. A full calendar year later he would sign a 2 year extension with the Flyers that would start in the 2025/2026 season. Garnet has proven himself valuable in a lot of ways since coming to Philly. He has not only been a good voice in the locker room for the young guys on the roster, he's been a good example on the ice as well. Just his style of play and the way he backs his teammates shows that he wants to be in Philly and wants to see the results of this rebuild. We've spent a decent amount of time discussing what could be worse about the Philadelphia Flyers next season, which would result in the team having a higher draft pick. But there are a lot of things that have the possibility of going right that could potentially result in the few extra standings points they needed to make the playoffs. Charlie & Bill answer more mailbag questions about Matvei Michkov's comparables, cap space in upcoming seasons, and get into the lone Flyers game discussed thus far in PHLY Rank Week: 2004 ECF Game 6 against the Lightning. It's D-Day! As the march towards next month's NHL Entry Draft continues, we're breaking down the defensemen on today's show. Cam York and Travis Sanheim both had breakout seasons for the Flyers, while Jamie Drysdale, Emil Andrae and others still have the shine of promise and potential. But there are no #1 defensemen on Philly's current roster, and the 2024 draft has a lot of high-end D prospects. Charlie & Bill discuss which blueliners might be available for the Flyers at 12, as well as with the other three (maybe) top-51 picks. Learn more about your ad choices. This week on TABLE TALK, Jeff sat down with Christopher Maher from Maher Media, who covers the Philadelphia Flyers, for a discussion about this upcoming Flyers offseason and various storylines we're following as we look to free agency, the NHL Draft, and what could happen with the team that'll affect next season. Topics that Christopher and Jeff dove into:Matvei Michkov may be joining the Flyers sooner rather than later. Is it a good move for Michkov to get over to the NHL and Philly as soon as possible? If Michkov does come to Philadelphia, how does it alter the organization's offseason strategy? What might the future pairing of Nick Seeler and Jamie Drysdale look like long-term?Which players and talent would work well for the Flyers as the team looks towards the NHL Draft and free agency? All of this and much more this week on Table Talk!Head over to our website for all of our podcasts and more: philadelphiasportstable.com.Follow us on Threads:Jeff: @mrjeffwarrenErik: @slen1023Follow us on Twitter/X:Jeff: @Jeffrey_WarrenLen: @LenHunsickerErik: @BrickPollittFollow the show on Instagram: instagram.com/philadelphiasportstable.
After evaluating the seasons of the Flyers regular forwards on Wednesday, the gang is back to grade the D & goalies today. From the breakout seasons for Cam York and Travis Sanheim, to the acquisitions of Jamie Drysdale and Erik Johnson, we're looking at the D closely today. Then, Charlie, Kelly & Bill examine the goaltending, and really the only one who has a season worth grading was Sam Ersson. Plus, a look at the Stanley Cup Playoffs as round 2 takes shape, including a convo about Rod Brind'Amour's future. Read Charlie's defensemen & goalies article here, for Diehards only. Pete, Nick and Anna get together for the final mailbag episode of the fantasy playoffs where they preview Tomas Hertl's upcoming Golden Knights debut and identify some Carter Verhaeghe injury replacements with the Panthers forward out week to week. Other players and topics discussed include category coverage pickups like Tyler Bertuzzi and Tom Wilson (back Thursday after suspension), Jamie Drysdale's return and Ivan Fedotov's debut giving the Flyers new wrinkles going into a huge game at Buffalo on Friday, injury updates on Valeri Nichushkin and Chris Tanev, why players like Conor Garland, Viktor Arvidsson and Mikael Granlund could win you a fantasy championship, how Erik Karlsson has been a big fantasy disappointment with the Penguins, the Maple Leafs' goalie situation and more.
The Philadelphia Flyers are clinging to their spot in the Stanley Cup Playoffs for dear life with only six games remaining in the regular season. Reinforcements on defense in the form of Nick Seeler and Jamie Drysdale have arrived, returning from lengthy time out of action, and Russian sensation Ivan Fedotov has made his debut after a long saga to make it to the NHL. Will it be enough to push the orange and black over the finish line and into the postseason for the first time since 2020? Charlie, Kelly & Bill debate all things Flyers ahead of the final few weeks. After a shaky first 20 minutes that saw Sam Ersson surrender a pair of goals, the new goalie stepped in! Ivan Fedotov made his NHL debut, beginning the middle frame in relief with Philly trailing 2-1. Jamie Drysdale also returned to the lineup tonight, and it seems like those events should be the energy boost this dragging Flyers club needs to get back in the win column after 4 straight losses. Noah Cates got the Flyers on the board in the 1st period, but the Islanders scored back-to-back goals in a span of 18 seconds. Sanheim netted a goal in the 2nd to tie it 2-2, but Anders Lee's goal made it 3-2 late in the 2nd period. Morgan Frost's game-tying goal with 9.6 seconds left sent the game to OT and gave the Flyers a much-needed point amidst a tight playoff race. Yet Frost and Drysdale's costly turnover in OT allows the Islanders to escape with a 4-3 win in OT. Bill, JP & Charlie break down the action, and take a look at the updated standings. Sean Walker is gone, traded to the Colorado Avalanche for a first round pick. Nick Seeler, Rasmus Ristolainen, and Jamie Drysdale are all out. Ronnie Attard and Adam Ginning are making their season debuts. But, hey, Travis Konecny is back just in time for the Flyers to faceoff with the Presidents Trophy race leaders in the Florida Panthers, one day ahead of the NHL Trade Deadline. Garnet Hathaway's goal with 21.3 seconds remaining and a great effort by Sam Ersson proved to be enough to overcome an inexperienced blueline and other slumping veterans. Bill, Charlie, and JP break down the action and Danny Briere's pregame press conference, as well as what to expect tomorrow ahead of Friday's 3PM Trade Deadline. Learn more about your ad choices. In this edition of 32 Thoughts, Jeff and Elliotte revisit a fantastic night in Chicago that saw Chris Chelios' number 7 raised to the rafters and Patrick Kane's return to the United Center with the Detroit Red Wings. Elliotte talks about how the Red Wings look to have finally turned a corner and are poised to break their playoff drought (14:12). The fellas then shift focus to Sidney Crosby following his 4-point night against the Flyers (17:28) and wonder if Jake Guentzel could land in Detroit (25:07)? Next, Jeff and Elliotte discuss Matt Rempe's hectic week following his NHL debut (27:59) and ask if Danny Briere will change course in Philly now that Jamie Drysdale is out with an injury (34:25). Elliotte ponders if the Leafs would be better off rolling with three goaltenders (37:18) and look out for the Dallas Stars to be aggressive in the d-man trade market (39:56). Jeff wonders whether Anthony Mantha has played himself into potential trade to a contender (44:28) and if the Seattle Kraken could potentially move Adam Larsson (59:32). Finally, Elliotte expands on his report that teams are calling the Canucks gauging interest in a potential Elias Pettersson trade (1:01:40). The fellas answer your questions in the Montana's Thought Line (1:05:48) and wrap the podcast by previewing NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman's visit to Winnipeg this week (1:32:12).
