Natalie Holloway, founder of Bala, joins us Elizabeth week to share her incredible journey from advertising executive to redefining fitness accessories with one of the most recognizable wellness brands today. After meeting her now husband and co-founder while working at an ad agency, Natalie made a bold decision to step away from corporate life to create something new. What started as an idea during a yoga class while traveling turned into Bala—a company that quickly captured the attention of Shark Tank investors Mark Cuban and Maria Sharapova, and grew from two million to twenty million dollars in just one year.In this episode, Natalie talks about the power of slowing down to create space for big ideas, learning hard lessons around growth and delegation, and her approach to building a brand that marries fashion, functionality, and fitness. She also shares her favorite Bala products, her go-to wellness rituals as a busy mom, and what it really looks like to evolve personally and professionally while leading with intention. We had a bit of a break there, this episode should have come out in late August, but we're back with the second part of our discussion on Simulation Theory. What if the seemingly small inconsistencies in our memories hint at a reality much more complex than we ever imagined? Join us as we challenge the boundaries of perception and reality, starting with the intriguing Mandela Effect. We explore instances like the collective misremembering of Nelson Mandela's fate and the puzzling case of the Sinbad genie movie, "Shazam." These discrepancies lead us to question whether our memories are mere flaws or if they suggest the existence of parallel realities or even a simulated universe.Through captivating discussions, we ponder if the very fabric of our existence is shaped by the mind's intricate dance between memory and emotion. With references to the Natalie Holloway case and religious memory feats like the Quran's memorization, we examine how suggestibility and perception intertwine. Our conversation spans philosophical and scientific realms, from non-linear time influenced by gravity to subconscious actions preceding conscious awareness, inviting you to rethink the nature of free will and the potential for simulation theory to explain déjà vu, glitches, and more.As we conclude, we venture into the world of dreams and consciousness, drawing parallels between lucid dreaming and simulation theory. We reflect on the fleeting nature of dreams and their potential role in our brain's rebooting process, contemplating whether our reality is as concrete as it seems. With insights from quantum physics and anecdotes of past life memories, we challenge materialism's hold on our perception of reality, questioning if indeed, life is a series of repeated simulations with unknown outcomes.Contact Us: Twitter: @NotSoDeepShit Facebook.com/NSDSChrisandSteveInstagram.com/nsdschrisandsteve Email: nsdschrisandsteve@gmail.com Don't forget to SUBSCRIBE, LIKE and LEAVE A REVIEW for the show!

Natalie Holloway and her husband, Max, had their aha moment during a yoga class in Indonesia. As the class was more meditative than sweat-inducing, they wondered, Why isn't anyone making chic wrist or ankle weights that could turn up the resistance on everyday exercises? They immediately began brainstorming their idea on a napkin, and after returning to the United States, the two created prototypes of what would eventually become the best-selling Bala Bangle. With the help of a Kickstarter campaign and a successful Shark Tank debut, Bala has grown to include a range of fitness equipment sold in retailers including Goop, Saks, and Target, as well as a digital fitness instruction platform called Balacize. But what led Natalie and Max to Indonesia in the first place? The two met while working at global advertising agency 72 and Sunny, where they thrived but ultimately felt burnt out. They decided to take a sabbatical to travel, and a year later, returned ready to use their branding expertise to give the '80s-era fitness equipment a fashion-forward makeover.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

In this episode, Jodi engages in a conversation with Natalie Holloway, the Co-Founder of Bala, who delves into the origins of their brand. The concept for Bala was born during a rather casual yoga session with her then-boyfriend, now-husband, Max. This lightbulb moment was captured on a napkin, which served as the initial blueprint. Subsequently, they transformed this vision into a tangible prototype, secured funding to bring it to market, garnered sales to validate their concept, and even made a compelling pitch on Shark Tank, all centered around their flagship product, the Bala Bangle – a versatile set of hand and ankle weights. Their pitch was convincing enough to secure investment from two of the Sharks. However, just two weeks after this exciting development, the world was thrown into a frenzy due to the global lockdown imposed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. This unexpected turn of events led to a surge in demand for workout equipment as people sought ways to maintain their fitness routines at home. Bala, with its stylish and luxurious approach to fitness accessories, experienced a meteoric rise in popularity. On May 30, 2010, Stephany Flores Ramirez, 21, met a handsome young man at the poker tables at the Atlantic City Casino in Lima, Peru. Episode 20 is here! In this episode, I sat down with Natalie Holloway, the co-founder and CEO of Bala. She's a fellow Austinite, now living in Los Angeles where she and and her husband Max own and operate the company they started in 2018 together. Natalie and I connected for the purpose of this podcast, but we actually have quite a bit in common, so I am looking forward to getting to know her better. Hi friends! Happy Thursday! New podcast episode is up and today I’m chatting with the founders of Bala Bangles, Natalie Holloway and Max Kislevitz. Download the full transcript here. Here’s what we talk about: How they got started and the inspiration behind Bala Bangles What it’s like to work with Mark Cuban and Maria Sharapova as investors Tips for branding and aesthetics Personal development resources Not familiar with Bala Bangles? Here’s some background info: Ball gowns and wrist weights? Bala has done more than re-invent the old-school eighties wrist and ankle weight. They have merged the aesthetic world of fashion with the booming industry of fitness. With their signature bangles, the trendy minded can add weight to their pilates or yoga class, they can get an extra resistance on their afternoon stroll, or they can make a statement at the neighborhood cocktail party as they pair their pink bangles with a black taffeta parachute dress. One look at Bala’s Instagram and you know - this isn't a brand for the one-dimensional. Bala was founded by the wife-husband duo, Natalie Holloway and Max Kislevitz. Into yoga, into entrepreneurship, they combined their two passions. Cut to a sketch on a napkin while they were taking a sabbatical in Southeast Asia, which led to a prototype, which turned into Bala Bangles. In their first full year in business, Bala’s total sales have expanded to $2M+ and their bangles can be found in over 1,000 retailers such as Goop, Free People, Bloomingdales, and Urban Outfitters. They sell out constantly and are coming up with two new launches this month. Shop their website here and check out their Instagram here. Don’t forget to sign up for your free 30 days of Les Mills On Demand! This is one of my all-time favorite workout platforms. The instructors are knowledgeable and motivating, plus the music is incredible. There are so many different formats, you’ll definitely find something you love. Get your free workouts here. Perfect opportunity to switch up your routine now that so many of us are working out at home. CBD has changed my life. It helps so much with my anxiety and sense of calmness. Natalie Holloway is the CEO + Co-Founder of Bala with her husband Maximilian Kislevitz. Natalie and Max first thought to modernize the old-school wrist and ankle weights from the 1980's when they were on sabbatical in Southeast Asia after taking a yoga class. After an hour of light stretching, both felt unsatisfied. Afterwards, they began sketching out designs for a more fashionable, more functional wrist and ankle weight. Because the idea was conceived after a yoga class, they decided to name the company 'Bala', which means 'strength' in Sanskrit. In their first calendar year and in Feb 2020 they appeared on ABC's Shark Tank and received a $900K investment from Mark Cuban and tennis legend Maria Sharapova. The rest is a wonderful story of helping to empower others to feel strong and stronger in their body.

Where do "missing" people go?Natalie Holloway disappeared in May 2005 while in the island of Aruba. judicial-inc says it was a murder. John Walsh, of the television show America's Most Wanted, said in 2005 that Dr. Phil's suggestion that she might be a sex slave is "pretty farfetched". Natalie Holloway and sex slaves The recent confession regarding Natalie Holloway is more evidence that she was sold as a sex slave. Bala is a Los Angeles based movement company, founded in 2018 by husband-and-wife team Natalie Holloway and Maximilian Kislevitz. Their first collection, Bala Bangles, are weighted bands designed with fashion in mind and movement at the center. Natalie, originally from Austin, Texas, grew up as the yoga movement was taking off and it inspired a lifetime passion. When her and Max, from a long line of entrepreneurs, went on a sabbatical in Southeast Asia they realized that they wanted a little more from their practice. Ankle weights hadn’t been updated since the ‘80s, and while everyone loves a pop of neon, they thought they could bring it a little more up to date. Cut to a sketch on a napkin, which led to a prototype, which turned into the Bala Bangle. Fast forward to last year, Natalie brought her sister Erica Holloway on as Bala’s Brand Director - Bala’s first hire! Today, Bala is carried in over 1000 retail locations worldwide.
