#169// One of the questions I get asked the most by ambitious, Jesus girls looking to launch into something new is, "So, how do I get my husband on board with this?"As a multi-passionate woman who wants to do #allthethings while being mindful of my marriage and family, it can feel a little tricky at times to keep everything in balance. This is especially true when I feel the Lord nudging me to start something new with Him that will require me to carve out some time, energy and effort from somewhere else to apply to the new thing. This is generally where it becomes apparent that I'll need to be having a conversation with the hubs. You been there?Even if your husband is super supportive of everything you dream up to do, he's likely still going to have questions and even possibly some concerns when it comes to your shifting time, energy and effort around. You're going to have to have a conversation, right? Wouldn't it be good to know how to conduct a conversation like this in such a way that it's very easy for your husband to hop on board and maybe even help with the transition you're suggesting? On this episode of the Positioned to Prosper podcast, I'm sharing four simple yet powerful tips for how to approach a conversation like this with your husband that'll produce less friction and more agreement. One of the most powerful ways to pray is to use the Word of God in your prayers. Scripture teaches us how to enact God's kingdom here on Earth in our lives, including our marriages. Today's question comes from a listener who listened to another episode I recently shared about prayer and wanted to know how exactly to pray the Scripture over her marriage. Take a listen and employ this simple solution to praying God's words in faith as you expect Him to work on your behalf.    Other Helpful Episodes:  #242: I Don't Want My Husband But I Don't Want a Divorce Either  #210: 5 Prayers to Pray for Your Husband  #208: 5 Prayers to Pray for Your Wife    **If you like the show, please leave a review! I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength, which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.”   Ephesians 2:8–10 “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God‘s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.“   Ephesians 2:13 “But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ.“   Philippians 1:6 “being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

Hey Mama,   I know how difficult it can be to get lost in the world of money. To see all the income you have leftover that you can play with or feel the stress of not having any extra income to play with at all. All the possibilities and goals you can set or can't set.    Your  focus is flipped from what's truly important to the things that you can or can't buy and that becomes the thing that you sit on and brood over and over in your brain. It's the only thing you can think about and before you know it your life has passed in front of your eyes and the only thing you can remember is how you couldn't buy something or how long it took to be able to buy that thing.    You've lost sight of what's truly important. God, Your Husband, Your Children. Your family, Your friends. They have become an afterthought. That is why in this episode I want to open your eyes to what God tells you about money and what the world is doing to you. Manipulating you to put your identity in money.    The first step in making a change is to first see the problem. LOVING LIFE AT HOME - Christian Marriage, Faith-Based Parenting, Biblical Homemaking, Purposeful Living

Show Notes Every man craves respect. I think that deep desire to be well-esteemed by family, friends, and foe alike is hardwired into the Y-chromosome. The vast majority of men value respect even over love. One of the most powerful things you can do to build up your man and strengthen your marriage is to shower your husband with the respect and admiration he so longs for. The details may differ from family to family, but the underlining principles remain the same. SCRIPTURES CITED: - “Show proper respect to everyone, love the family of believers, fear God, honor the king.” - 1 Peter 2:7  - “Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor.”  - Romans 12:10 - “The husband must fulfill his duty to his wife, and likewise the wife also to her husband.  The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does; and likewise the husband also does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does. Stop depriving one another, except by agreement for a time so that you may devote yourselves to prayer, and come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.” - 1 Corinthians 7:3-5 - "For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, slanderers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy...." - 2 Timothy 3:2 - “...He fell facedown at Jesus' feet in thanksgiving to Him—and he was a Samaritan." - Luke 17:16 - "Do not let any unwholesome speech come out of [our] mouths, but only what is good for building others up, that it may benefit those who listen.” - Ephesians 4:29 - “But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. “ – Colossians 3:8 - “It is better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and an angry woman.” - Proverbs 21:19 - “When there are many words, transgression is unavoidable, But he who restrains his lips is wise.” – Proverbs 10:19 - “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” – Philippians 4:6 - “Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven. For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst.” - Matthew 18:19-20 - “Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, let your mind dwell on these things” -  Philippians 4:8 - “An excellent wife is the crown of her husband, But she who shames him is like rottenness in his bones." - Proverbs 12:24 - "Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, 3knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance." - James 1:2-3 - "Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great; for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you." - Matthew 5:11-12 RELATED LINKS: - How Does Your Husband Spell Respect - original blog post this episode was taken from - 31 Bible Verses to Pray over Your Husband - a pretty (and free) printable prayer guide - Praying for Your Husband from Head to Toe - another free printable prayer guide - EP 12: Are You Married to a Problem Solver? - if so, this episode will help you understand and appreciate how your husband's brain is wired - 30-Day Respect Challenge - nurture you marriage with this free email series - Love Your Husband/ Love Yourself - details all the blessings we reap by embracing God's purpose for passion in marriage - 25 Ways to Communicate Respect to Your Husband - a companion book to 25 Ways to Show Love to Your Wife STAY CONNECTED - Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/flanders_family/  - Marriage Blog: Loving Life at Home - Family Blog: Flanders Family Home Life (lots of printables!) - Subscribe: Flanders Family Freebies (weekly newsletter)
