The boys discuss the risks Newcastle Knights have taken to sign Dylan Brown on a record breaking 10-year contract but explain why it may work in their favour down the line. The Wests Tigers are in the fight to keep young gun Lachie Galvin. Where will former Penrith Panthers star Taylan May sign? And Pie Gate! After the Dragons fan got in trouble for throwing a pie, we ask both Chammas and Weidler if they've had a pie thrown at them for anything they've written?See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
The Wests Tigers Podcast mid-week edition is good to go! On this edition of the Wests Tigers Podcast, we examine the unfolding developments regarding the future of Wests Tigers young star Lachlan Galvin. In the wake of Dylan Brown getting a truckload of cash to head up the M1 to the Knights, we look at how this deal might affect our negotiations. We also take a look at the situation from the perspective of the loyal Wests Tigers fans, and how Lachlan can be part of a solution, not continuing a problem. There is also contract news around David Klemmer and his impending exit from the club, and how this impacts the likely arrival of Taylan May. While a left-field recruitment idea is also floated. Then the focus is the Eels. It is only round two of the 2025 NRL season, yet this Sunday's clash against the Eels carries a feeling of great importance. After a clunky and disjointed performance against the Knights, can the Wests Tigers bounce back against an Eels side coming off a heavy loss? Benji Marshall has named a stronger side on paper, with key spine members Jahream Bula and Api Koroisau, along with Starford To'a, being available. But has the coach managed to fix those issues so evident last Friday night? We give our suggestions on how the Tigers can get one up against the Eels, and look at how Bula and Api might help get us back on track. Yioti's trivia also features. Yioti has gone back in the Wests Tigers archives to come up with some interesting Eels v Tigers trivia questions too. And don't forget to leave your 'One Word' submissions after the Eels game on Sunday afternoon on the Wests Tigers Podcast Forum. The one word submissions grow every game, but we'd love even more people to take part and share their thoughts on the game. To do so, just head to the game-specific thread and, if you haven't already, sign up for a free account on our forum. Good luck Wests Tigers, let's beat those slimy Eels! AJ and Rhys recap the opening week on Australian soil! We live react to the Dylan Brown to Newcastle news, we wish we had his manager after earning $1.3 million a year for 10 years as well as the Taylan May return news, we have been consistent in our view on this and the verdict this week hasn't changed. Also this week:- Brisbane put on a masterclass in the middle as the Roosters search desperately for answers- Tigers attack stumbles but there's good returnees on the way as the Knights showed just enough to win- Dolphins cruel their attacking output as Souths have found their new look halfback.- Bulldogs and Dragons put on an epic rivalry at Kogarah!- Manly with their best half of footy in a while as they trounce a disappointing Cowboys side in the first half of the game.- Melbourne clinical as they show their premiership favouritism against the hapless Eels as we heap praise on the Eels rookies. Jack Howarth looks set for another big year at centre. We dedicate this episode to the life of Joanna Constable who passed away last week. We extend our love to friend of the show Will Bates, his son Josh and extended family during this traumatic time.RIP Joanna Constable - 28/04/1972-4/03/2025

Clinton Gutherson and Mitchell Moses are back! The Tip Sheet gets a slight Lord of the Rings theme this week as the boys sound the horn for the return of the King (mixing up movies but who is counting?). How does the team shape up now that the star fullback and halfback have returned? Team List Tuesday yields some surprises as Trent Barrett starts to shape the squad in his image. The club announced the community focused Eels Foundation while the search for a new head coach continues. Round 12 saw some blow out scores and some gritty wins against the odds, which teams found themselves on right side of that ledger? The boys take a first look at the State of Origin squads while the Integrity Unit has made its moves regarding Braydon Trindall and Taylan May.
Michael Chammas and Danny Weidler take you inside the sacking of Parramatta coach Brad Arthur and what's next at the Eels, how the honeymoon is over for the Tigers, the Taylan May situation, Braith Anasta v Latrell Mitchell, NSW Origin selection speculation and the guys answer your questions! See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
The Tip Sheet continues to explore a critical juncture for the Parramatta Eels in the week they sacked head coach Brad Arthur. Forty20 and Clint examine the latest developments on that front and beyond in another busy episode. Wayne Bennett has rejeceted the Eels, choosing to stick with South Sydney...so where does that leave our club? Who sticks out as the prime candidates to helm Parramatta and which ones fit the criteria laid out in the club's press conference on Tuesday? For his part, Brad Arthur continues to be nothing but class after speaking to a host of media outlets on his 50th birthday. Team List Tuesday yielded almost nothing new for fans in a surprising twist. Trent Barrett hasn't rocked the boat in his first week in charge and the boys try to puzzle out the why of it all. The Magic Round debrief covers a hugely successful weekend for the NRL as the boys look at a spread of closely fought games and terrific attendence. The pre-Origin carnage continues with Cameron Munsters and Kotoni Staggs now joining a galaxy of other stars on the sidelines. Another negative news story is circling involving Taylan May and the show addresses the alleged situation before closing out on a positive note with a celebration of the upcoming Indigenous Round.

Martin Devlin and Tony Kemp are back for episode 11 of the Rugby League Hour, brought to you by MicroBio Solutions. Every Monday during the 2024 NRL season on The Platform, Devlin - host of It's Only Sport - is joined by one of the best rugby league analysts going around in Kemp, the ex-Warriors coach and Kiwis representative.First off, Marty and Kempy recap the annual magic round in Brisbane, and discuss the main talking points from the eight games with a focus on the winners. The Cronulla Sharks are still the team to beat in the NRL winning their ninth game in 10, a 38-30 victory over fellow title contenders the Sydney Roosters. Cronulla are two points better than their nearest rival on the ladder the Melbourne Storm, with the Penrith Panthers a further two points behind in third. The Dolphins continue to be this year's surprise story and sit in the top four with a 7-3 record. Their most recent result? A 24-12 win over the Wests Tigers. The Brisbane Broncos, Canberra Raiders, Roosters and Newcastle Knights sit in the 5-8 range. Then, it's Up The Wahs - a segment that Marty and Kempy dedicate solely to chatting about the Warriors. This week's edition is a particularly exciting one as the boys get to unpack a huge win for the Auckland-based club, as they defied the odds to overcome the three-time defending premier Panthers 22-20. A number of key players including captain Tohu Harris, Shaun Johnson and Roger Tuivasa-Sheck were out injured, forcing a number of role players and young guns to step up... which they did, emphatically. Which players stood out the most for the Warriors? Does the win solve some selection headaches - particularly at five-eight - for coach Andrew Webster?Next, it's He's A Ledge, and this week it's an icon of New Zealand rugby league - Frank Endacott. 'Happy Frank' has previously coached the Warriors and Wigan in club footy, as well as the Kiwis at international level. He shares his thoughts on the Warriors' win over Penrith, the importance of the club's pathway programs, the latest around the South Island NRL expansion bid he's involved in, and more. Then, Marty and Kempy go head-to-head debating six rugby league topics, including whether or not Taylan May should be let go by Penrith following his latest off-field incident, if the Warriors can still make the top eight, and why magic round needs to remain in Brisbane. Kempy hands out the Effluex clean-up award for the player, coach or team who did their job better than anyone else on the weekend - someone who rolled up their sleeves and turned gunk into gold. And to finish things off, Kempy lists his five best teams in the NRL right now on TK's Top 5.The Rugby League Hour is sponsored by MicroBio Solutions Limited, solving environmental issues using green technologies. Marty and Kempy work their way through some of the key matchups over the weekend including the Wests Tigers' shock 32-6 thumping of the Cronulla Sharks and the Roosters clocking up a huge win over old foes the South Sydney Rabbitohs 48-6. Marty and Kempy also discuss concerns surrounding the Broncos' health, with three key players in captain Adam Reynolds, prop Payne Haas and fullback Reece Walsh suffering injuries recently. After that it's Up The Wahs, a segment dedicated solely to the Warriors. The lone Kiwi club in the NRL finally bagged a win in 2024, beating the Canberra Raiders 18-10 in Christchurch. They made tough work of it, but having left some points out there on the field, are the Warriors far better than their 1-2 record suggests? This week on He's A Ledge, Marty and Kempy chat with former Warriors, Tigers and Dragons frontrower Russell Packer, who talks all about what he's up to now, the modern day prop, his chequered past and his road to redemption, and more. Then, Marty and Kempy go head-to-head debating a handful of rugby league topics, including whether or not Taylan May should be suspended for his tackle on Reece Walsh, are the Warriors a top four side, and whether South Sydney should sack Jason Demetriou or not. Kempy hands out the Effluex clean-up award for the player, coach or team who did their job better than anyone else on the weekend - someone who rolled up their sleeves and turned gunk into gold. And to finish things off, Kempy lists his five best teams in the NRL right now on TK's Top.The Rugby League Hour is sponsored by MicroBio Solutions Limited, solving environmental issues using green technologies. To open the show, Matty reacted to the grand final team selections from both the Eels & Panthers - Brad Arthur's big risk with Nathan Brown & Taylan May out for the Panthers. In honour of Matty speaking with Steve Ella today, Matty recalled some of the best x-factor players we've seen in rugby league.

On today's show, the lads talk all things NRL. But... a little basketball first. Shout out to the Australian Opals opening up their FIBA World Cup campaign in Australian tonight. These French players don't know what's coming! On to the NRL and the lads bring back the Yeah/Nah report. From all things David Fifita's money to the Penrith Panthers potentially being fleeced of a lot of talent, all is covered. Is the pressure on the North Queensland Cowboys after having the week off? Is David Nofoaluma out of a job now Sua'ali'i pledges to Toa Samoa? Huge ripple effects throughout the entire Rugby League World Cup there! The boys venture down Prelim Lane and talk all things NQL Cowboys and Parramatta Eels. The Eels window is closing, and has been all year, but do they have one more win in them to make it to the big dance for the first time since 2009? Or will the same day travel screw them and give the Cowboys the advantage? What a joke same day travel is. Either way, we are going to have a salty Matty or salty Sherpa! Then, Penrith Panthers and South Sydney Rabbitohs. The Forbes Ferrari (Charlie Staines) comes in for the suspended Taylan May which may force Brian To'o over to the other side of the field. The versatile can do it all, so don't be shocked if he is moved. On top of that, Alex Johnston has an asterisk next to his name after the injury suffered in the last game against Cronulla. If he is out, how much strike does Josh Mansour/Richard Kennar actually give? Only time will tell how deadly that left edge is but make sure you close down Latrell Mitchell. He is on another planet with his form right now and even though it isn't "Trellianz Stadium" he will be humming at home. All this and a much bigger deep dive on this week's Pre-Review Pod. Check it out!

It's Team-List-Tuesday and the show is back to full compliments. Fletch is paying tribute to ACA, Joel is pushing a poddy and the boys chat through some of the NRL news.
Taylan May who plays for the Penrith Panthers was charged guilty and fined for an assault. The NRL are allowing him to serve a two-week suspension in Rounds 1 and 2 next year, rather than right now - during Finals. He is allowed to play the finals this year, yet next year he misses the first 2 rounds. Spida doesn't understand how the NRL has allowed this. He believes he should be suffering and shouldn't be allowed to play the finals.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
