Baseball tales are full of notable figures. But history would be incomplete without mentioning the most prolific - and arguably most forgotten - man in the sport. The Hustlin Ted P. Sullivan was the legendary founder and unrivaled huckster considered at one time to be the "grandaddy" of the game. His name was practically synonymous with it back when the west was wild and The Show was even wilder. So who was this Irish rogue who was regarded as the greatest baseball mind in America? Joining Joel are Tom Coffman and Pat O'Neill, hobby scribes and co-biographers of the book Ted Sullivan: Barnacle of Baseball. Together they'll tell his tale, and even some facts, to lovers of good baseball and blarney alike. If you have happy residents, then they're the biggest ambassador of that destination.” -Ted Sullivan “Partnership is going to be very important — partnership beyond our own destination. When we get that world heritage designation, we have to then partner outside with the other world heritage sites. That's going to be critical for us.” - Bree Nidds Zartico: https://www.zartico.com/ Discover Lehigh Valley: https://www.discoverlehighvalley.com/ If you are interested in any of Relic's services, please email adam@relicagency.com or visit https://www.relicagency.com/
Ted's life story only gets more impressive as he gets deeper into it. You'll quickly pick up on his magnetic energy but please don't confuse his humility for a lack of killer instinct. Unless you've been building businesses or been in leadership roles for years, you'll probably reach a point where you go "eh... I'm stuck." Jughead's revenge fantasies are his ticket out of town, as our dead format enthusiast becomes even more of a dead person enthusiast. Thanks for joining us through season 4!
Episode Seventy-Three could easily be divided into two separate episodes – one the riveting origin story of a busy screenwriter, and the other a deep-dive into the nuanced relationship between actor and scribe – but presented together, the separate story arcs form one incredible journey.Ted Sullivan is a writer and producer whose filmography includes Supergirl, Star Trek: Discovery, Revenge, daytime dramas, and Riverdale. Ted joined the Riverdale writing team for season four – which is how he ended up in Vancouver, and how he met actor Ryan Robbins. In the months since Ryan first appeared on the YVR Screen Scene Podcast, he's stepped into a pivotal role on Riverdale: that of Uncle Frank, the long-lost brother of Archie's father, Fred. The renowned actor who played Fred – Luke Perry – passed away in March 2019. It was a devastating loss for many people, including the cast and crew at Riverdale, and instead of recasting the character, the show opted to bring in another Andrews man to mentor (and sometimes tangle) with young Archie: Fred's wayward brother, Frank. In this special episode (recorded pre-COVID-19, before Riverdale and the entire Vancouver film and television industry ground to a halt), Ted and Ryan discuss Uncle Frank and Luke Perry, as well as the special relationship between writer and actor – and how that relationship can impact what we see on screen.Episode sponsor: Almiro Studios' ‘Foreign AF' web series

This episode's teleplay is by Ted Sullivan, from a story by Ted Sullivan & Vaun Wilmott, and it is directed by Marta Cunningham. Burnham takes leave and heads to Vulcan to continue to search for Spock, and she succeeds! However, Spock is not himself. After Burnham leaves Discovery, which is still orbiting Kaminar, the ship encounters an anomaly where past, present, and future all exist at once that Pike and Tyler investigate in a shuttlecraft, only to be attacked by the probe they launched. Like all Ted Sullivan episodes, it seems, this was a great one! Read more... In which Joe and Jason both gradually convince each other that Star Trek Discovery is picking up the unresolved thread of the Temporal Cold War from Star Trek: Enterprise. The Discovery encounters a time rift above Kaminar, so Captain Pike and our man Voq decide to fly into it. This yields mixed results. They don't die, but they are attacked by a Sentinel from 1999's The Matrix. Burnham misses it all because she's home on Vulcan in the middle of some serious family drama, where Amanda has been secretly hiding Spock for God knows how long. Sarek tells Burnham to turn him into Section 31, but Emperor Georgiou says that's a bad move and helps her escape. So instead, they set course for to Talos IV. Directed by Marta Cunningham, and written by Ted Sullivan and Vaun Wilmott, "Light and Shadows" first aired on February 28th, 2019.

Star Trek: Discovery – Season 2, Episode 1: Brother For episode 26 of The Star Trek Discovery Podcast, Ruthie and I discuss the Season 2 premiere of Star Trek: Discovery – S2E1, which is titled, Brother. It was written by Ted Sullivan & Gretchen J. We both loved this supersized movie-like premiere! If you haven’t given Discovery a try, this epic episode is one you can jump right in! We LOVE Captain Pike!!! If you’ve seen TOS (“The Cage” and “The Menagerie”) or the Kelvin Timeline films – specifically “Star Trek” (2009) and “Star Trek Into Darkness” (2013) – you are probably aware of Captain Christopher Pike, who captained the Enterprise before Kirk took command, but we didn’t know about his stint as the captain of the Discovery, while the Enterprise underwent extensive repairs after suffering severe ship-wide system failure. Pike takes command of the Discovery to investigate seven red bursts throughout spread out across more than thirty thousand light-years, but he considers it “shared custody” with Saru. Pike makes this episode, and if this episode is any indication, Pike will quickly become a fan favorite, if he isn’t already! They Have Stepped It Up This episode looks like a blockbuster movie! It looks every bit as good as the three Kelvin Timeline films. There have been reports that Berg & Harberts lost their showrunner jobs in part because the first three episodes went way over budget. I was skeptical of this report until I saw this first episode. When I said it looks like a hundred million dollars was spent on this episode, I wasn’t exaggerating. I know it wasn’t, but the quality of the visuals has far eclipsed what we saw in Season 1, which was already made it one of the best looking TV shows going. Fred’s Pics! In addition to our cover image, Fred from The Netherlands also provided us with some images from Brother! Thanks again, Fred!!! If you watched the first Short Trek, Runaway, you may have noticed a resemblance between Po and Commander Nhan. I know I did, enough that I had to check to see who played Nhan. Well, Fred thought Nhan was a Xahean, like Po. However, it’s been determined that she’s a Barzan, the aliens who tried to sell rights to the Barzan wormhole in TNG’s Season 3 episode, “The Price”. Berg & Aaron Harberts (the latter two were the showrunners at the time this was filmed), and it was directed by the current showrunner and co-creator, Alex Kurtzman. This first couple of images focus on Nhan, and how she compares to the Xahean leader, Po and the Barzan leader, Bhavani. STDP 026 – Comparing Po vs. Commander Nhan STDP 026 – Nhan is Barzan Here’s a great pic of Captain Pike, just as Discovery is about to be taken out of warp.

This week, Kayla and Jared assembled at the mic to discuss the sixth episode of Star Trek: Discovery, “Lethe”. Listen to the podcast below to hear our thoughts on the latest installment, which is full of character development, growth, and additions (and tweaks) to Star Trek canon. Star Trek: Discovery Season 1, Episode 6 – Debuted Sunday October 22nd Written by Ted Sullivan and Joe Menosky Directed by Doug Aarniokoski Reactions from the Shuttle Pod crew were a mix. Both Kayla and Jared agree that so far much of what we have seen on Discovery has been stellar. Episode 6 really resonated with Kayla; she notes that Burnham’s story arc in this episode reminds her of some of the personal journeys she has taken in her life and how real the story felt. Jared liked “Lethe” but admits that he still finds Discovery‘s Vulcans (including the not-so-vulcan Burnham) a bit stiff. In any event, a lot of canon-shaking events occurred in this week’s episode, including a new insight into the backstory of Spock, a character who only barely made it into the episode, by name only. In a world of serialized television, the Shuttle Pod crew agree that “Lethe” felt like the most “stand alone” episode we’ve had so far, with the story arc of all of our characters nicely bookended with scenes between Tilly and Burnham on the jogging track. In the end, we got to see a ton of character development and growth. We were shown Burnham’s old wounds and the process she went through to start on the path to healing them. At first, Burnham is trying to be her old self, Sarek’s ward, while carrying her burdens with her. At the end of the episode, she has shed some of those burdens and is starting to become her own person — and gets a permanent placement on the USS Discovery, as granted by her new “father figure” Captain Lorca.
In which the Enterprise begins backing out, Kirk is ordered to surrender his vessel, Captain Styles is on his way, and we discuss how the film ties back to The Original Series... Guest starring Paul Sullivan from the Sully Baseball podcast, and Ted Sullivan, co-executive producer and writer from Star Trek: Discovery!

Supergirl: For the Girl Who Has Everything. Prior to joining the Star Trek: Discovery writing staff, Ted Sullivan worked on another beloved geek property, Supergirl. In the first season of that series, he co-wrote "For the Girl Who Has Everything" with Derek Simon. The episode is an adaptation of a classic Superman comic by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons entitled "For the Man Who Has Everything." In this episode of Stage Nine, Mike is joined by his Commentary Track Stars co-host Max to look at how Sullivan translated Moore's comic to the small screen. We discuss the comic and the episode on their own terms, as well as how the adaptation maintains the essence of the source material while modified to work in a different medium. We also ponder what this might tell us about Sullivan's approach to writing Star Trek. In news, we briefly discuss Disco's new cinematographer, Glen Keenan, and Damon Lindelof's upcoming Watchmen TV series.
