Hank Pym tries to find his lost wife, Janet VanDyne, in the quantum realm. When he does, he discovers that she is infected with a quantum virus that has made her a flesh-eating zombie. Janet returns to the world and the zombie infection spreads like wildfire. The Avengers are infected, leaving only a few heroes to try and save the earth. Along with a returning Bruce Banner, Spider-Man, Happy Hogan, Wasp, Sharon Carter, Bucky Barnes, Kurt, and General Okoye are on a mission to Camp Lehigh in hopes of finding an antidote. After battling a lot of zombies, including Cap, Iron Man, Doctor Strange, and Wong, most of the gang makes it into Camp Lehigh, thanks to a heroic Hope VanDyne. They find Vision, who is immune to the virus, working on a broad spectrum cure for the virus. Using the Mind Stone's power, Vision has already cured Scott Lang, whose talking head is alive & well. But Vision has a secret: he is keeping his wife, Wanda Maximoff, alive as a zombie at Camp Lehigh. Vision has been feeding her pieces of King T'Challa, whom he kidnapped for that purpose. Wanda is unleashed, but Vision finds his conscience at the last moment. Vision removes the Mind Stone from his head. While Dr. Banner & Hulk create a diversion, Spider-Man, T'Challa, Kurt, and Scott head to Wakanda, the only place with the technology to harness the Mind Stone for a global cure. However, they accidentally kidnap T'Challa, Prince of Wakanda by accident. T'Challa becomes a Robin Hood version of Star-Lord. Along with his cohorts Korath, Thanos, Nebula, Yondu, Kraglin, and Taserface, T'Challa plots to capture the Embers of Genesis from the Collector. The team is successful & T'Challa is ultimately reunited with his Wakandan family. Episode 2 stars Chadwick Boseman, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, Michael Rooker, Josh Brolin, Kurt Russell, John Kani, Benicio Del Toro, Sean Gunn, Chris Sullivan, Seth Green, Danai Gurira, Carrie Coon, Jeffrey Wright, and Tom Vaughan-Lawlor, Ophelia Lovibond, and Fred Tatasciore. Episode 3 calls back to several Marvel movies, including The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor, The Avengers, and Captain America: The Winter Soldier. In this universe, the Avengers are never formed because they are systematically murdered before they can team up. Tony Stark, Bruce Banner, Clint Barton, Thor, and Natasha Romanoff are all killed in mysterious ways. It's up to Nick Fury & Agent Phil Coulson to find the killer. Thanks to some information found by Black Widow and an uneasy alliance with Loki, Fury finds & neutralizes the killer, Hank Pym. Pym was on a mission to avenge his daughter Hope Van Dyne, who, in this universe, was a S.H.I.E.L.D. killed in the line of duty. Fury's alliance with Loki ultimately backfires, as the God of Mischief successfully takes over the world. But Fury is determined to defeat Loki's army, and Captain Marvel arrives to help. Episode 3 stars Tom Hiddleston, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L. Jackson, Lake Bell, Mark Ruffalo, Samuel L. Jackson, Clark Gregg, Frank Grillo, Stephanie Panisello, Jaimie Alexander, and Jeffrey Wright. This week's Empire Podcast is another live show in which Chris Hewitt, Helen O'Hara and token English bloke, the award-winning James Dyer, rock up for the Virgin Media Dublin International Film 2020. In front of a packed crowd, they discuss the Coronavirus' impact upon the movie industry, in the wake of No Time To Die being pushed back; additional movie news including the unveiling of the Batmobile; review Onward, Military Wives, Toni Morrison: The Pieces I Am, and The Photograph; and answer audience questions. Oh, and in a bit that totally works on an audio-only podcast, Chris's opening remarks are translated into Irish. It's also a guestapalooza, with Rialto's twin Toms, Glynn-Carney and Vaughan-Lawlor, joined on stage by Calm With Horses' Niamh Algar and Nick Rowland. And then, in a surprise for the audience, Game Of Thrones star, and local legend, Liam Cunningham shows up for a brief chat. And, in a surprise for our intrepid pod-team, he brings an unannounced guest, Syrian refugee-turned-actor Hassam Ahlrak, with him. Find out more about Hassam's incredible story on the episode. Oh. And Chris would like to apologise to all Irish people for mispronouncing the 'Brian' in 'Brian Gleeson'. Chris pronounces it on the show as 'Brian', when we've since been told that it's actually 'Brian'. Enjoy.

This week the award-winning actor John Connors joined Jarlath for a fascinating discussion about his life and career. With brutal honesty, John opens up about how 2018 was a year which saw him 'riddled with depression' (25:00) having also lost the two biggest acting roles of his life for expressing his own personal views (3:00). John explains why he tried to make things weird between himself and Tom Vaughan Lawlor on the set of Love/Hate (55:00), how he battles with a lack of control over his impulses (1:04:00) and the big mistake of Peter Casey's that the media never picked up on (46:00). From the incredibly sad reason why his whole life goal has been to live past the age of 30 (28:00) to how the best moment of his life was breaking the jaw of a childhood bully (37:00), why he is considering leaving Ireland (1:11:00) and the absurd level of discrimination he once received from neighbours (1:00:00) and much more, this is a truly powerful conversation with one of Ireland's rising creative talents. Welcome the newest episode of Dark Discussions, your place for the discussion of horror film, fiction, and all that’s fantastic. Zombie films have been around for awhile. Heck, it’s the 50th anniversary of the release of Night of the Living Dead, George Romero’s classic. After an oversaturation of the subgenre, with TV shows like The Walking Dead seeming to lose its shine, the zombie has fallen out of vogue a bit. But each year there seems to be a gem or two that shows up. Earlier in 2018, Cargo out of Australia got some notice, and now, after a long festival run, The Cured from Ireland just was released to VOD. The Maze Virus caused havoc all over the world. People turned into “zombies” and either killed or infected more. Now, sometime later, a cure was found that turned 75% of the infected back to normal. With worries that relapses could be possible, the “cured” have to check in weekly with government officials. Senan is reunited with his sister-in-law who has been widowed after his tragic death during the original outbreak. As Senan tries to reintegrate into society, his friend Conor, also a “cured,” may know a dark secret about his friend that could ruin any semblance of normalcy that Senan has earned. Ellen Page stars as Abbie, the American wife and now widow of Senan’s brother. The cast also includes Sam Keeley as Senan as well as Tom Vaughan-Lawlor in a screen stealing performance as Conor. With its interesting take on civil rights and a government that is there to protect, the movie does a flip in the second act where there is much more grey in this world than what was first presented. Dark Discussions takes a look at this highly anticipated movie and gives their thoughts. As always we welcome your comments: darkdiscussions@aol.com (written email or attached mp3 files) WWW.DARKDISCUSSIONS.COM
