We got off-season action! It's only the beginning of June, but this week we saw the first blockbuster of the offseason as the LA Kings, Philadelphia Flyers, and Columbus Blue Jackets pulled off a three-team trade. Jason and Frank started the podcast by breaking down what each team gained in the deal. Was this a true win-win-win? They debated it off the jump today. The teardown is just starting in Philly, which lead to some talk about the future of Carter Hart. Frank says he's really on the trading block while Gregor threw some cold water on one of the rumoured destinations for the Flyers goalie. They also talked about who else Danny Briere could be looking to trade in his first summer as Flyers GM.That wasn't the only news of the week though. Cole Caufield and the Montreal Canadiens agreed to a big extension, which gives Kent Hughes and the Habs' front office a lot of cost certainty as they continue their rebuild. The LA Kings also used their new-found cap space to sign Vlad Gavrikov to a two-year deal. The team reportedly wanted to go long-term with him, but the Russian defenseman wanted to bet on himself. Frank questioned that move.Tyler also hopped on for a new edition of Buy or Sell, brought to you by UFC 289. He asked the guys about the chances that we see another three-team trade this summer, Trevor Zegras' next deal, and the market for Alex DeBrincat. They wrapped the show with a quick Stanley Cup Final predication.3:50 - The 3-team trade12:40 - Carter Hart rumours22:10 - Caufield extension22:30 - Gavrikov bets on himself31:30 - Buy or Sell Hosted on Acast. Marc-Andre Fleury was watching Trevor Zegras' theatrics from the bench last night, but the superstar NHL goalie has a plan to stop guys from trying 'lacrosse goals' on him… He talked his ‘friendly' rivalry with Brendan Gallagher, newer sticks giving every player bruising shots, and his ability to keep it light while competing. Plus, Ray and 'Flower' shared pranking stories, including Sidney Crosby's sneaky prank on Fleury in Pittsburgh. Headlines kicks off with more on Trevor Zegras and the lacrosse style (aka. Michigan) disallowed goal. Ray goes ‘off' on the current offside rules, and proposes a change to make it better. Jack Eichel returns to Buffalo with the red-hot Vegas Golden Knights, and Ray gives the player perspective of returning to your former home-rink. The guys discuss Evander Kane's scary injury and how random incidents like it don't happen more often, and goaltender Martin Jones gets his due, as the Seattle Kraken continue a surging start. (:30) Brett's gotta get something off his chest: his son is playing little league baseball, and it's just not the same as when he was a kid…..it's BOUGIE! No more big black duffle bag, busting at the seams, full of community gear – nope, he has to buy EVERYTHING for his kid! Ouch…we wish your pocketbook well, Brett – may it last a full season! And may our Twitter contest have winners—but first…RELEASE THE SHOW! (2:51) The show gets off to a late start, literally, as the guys get lost in the sweet sounds of friend of the show, B-Boy Fidget. “What's Crackin? What's Crackin? We Kraken, We Kraken…” Oh, sorry, it almost happened again! Anyway, that Twitter giveaway isn't much of a giveaway because…we can't give the stuff away!! People apparently just don't want free Davy Jones T-Shirts like they used to. Intern Brian the GOAT wants to give away 5 Davy T's, and we can't figure out why no one wants to make the GOAT happy?! Hit us up! (4:49) HT1 – What do Dan, fans, and John Hamm have in common? Macarons! Wait, no, that comes later. All-Star Weekend!!! That's right – it was the Kraken's first NHL All-Star Weekend, and our boy, Dan, was out there representing. And so was our boy, Brett, on Twitter, reminding everyone our boy's name is…DAN. And apparently STILL trying to remind John Hamm that it's macarons…not macaroons. Or is it the other way around? Who knows! And who knows why the judges chose Pietrangelo as the Breakaway Challenge winner, when you had Trevor Zegras' out there Average Joe'in it up blindfolded! Kevin knows. Two words: Fan Voting. Maybe the fans should vote on Brett & Jon Hamm's beef? (9:30) HT2 – He did it folks! He FINALLY DID IT!! The Skoi Wonder has emerged with his cape and put one in the back of the net! And he's not gonna look back! (Right??) It only took RTS creating a fire nickname and fire T-Shirt to make it happen…AGAIN (cough) DAN! (cough). Give us some credit, Gismo!!! Nonetheless, we will all remember where we were at that very moment. For Chris, it involved cognac and smile; for you, it was ___________ (that's where you hit us up and fill in the blank!) (12:16) HT3 – Can we? Do we? SHOULD we? Get back to predictions??! Slippery slope, RTS friends…slippery slope. To be fair, the Kraken are playing better, but the fellas are nervous about making predictions again and promise to quit altogether, if there's a clear jinx factor at play here. In the end, Brett is a bit more pessimistic than Kevin and Chris, as he goes 1-2, while his two co-hosts go 2-1. But NOBODY wants to go “full prediction.” You never go “full prediction.” 18:25 – Wait, before you go! Brett has a few more words for John Hamm on the way out the door! SEE YA!

With the Calgary Flames now entering the fray of having games delayed, that combined with the new Omicron variant of COVID-19 is beginning to put pressure on the NHL about the Olympics in China. On top of that, China's draconian quarantine policies pose an even greater risk to NHLers than previously believed. Are the Olympics truly in jeopardy? John Tortorella hates fun, he hates Trevor Zegras' amazing flip pass to Sonny Milano, and he loves hard hockey, which apparently means concussing players who try fancy things. As a former NHL coach less than one year removed from his latest job, Tortorella's commentary carries weight for all the wrong reasons. Finally, when are NHLers going to learn to ignore Brendan Lemieux? And we bid a fond farewell to Ben Bishop, who was forced into retirement after trying to return from a persistent knee injury.
