Hello one and all, and welcome back to another installment of Trophy Talk! In this June episode, Josh and Colin are reunited as cohosts and get to catch up on life, work, gaming, and of course trophy hunting. With life being busy recently, Josh hasn't had as much time to trophy hunt as he'd like but still finds time to earn some trophies in his favorite genre. Can you guess which genre it is? Simulator games of course! Colin on the other hand has sinned greatly this month, purchasing two new games and earning a Platinum for a title that may end up being in the game of the year discussion for 2026. Games covered include House Flipper 2, Powerwash 2, 007 First Light, Mixtape, and Helldivers 2. On top of all of that we of course cover our Patron write ins, Platinum shout outs, and other large topics of the month such as Sony's State of Play for June. Indeed we are eating good as gamers right now. So many games, so little time. It's a tale as old as time isn't it? Please enjoy this episode, and thank you for listening!
On this extra episode of Trophy Talk Kevin, Colin, Max, and guest Jordan Vickers gather to speculate about what's coming for Sony's big State of Play presentation in early June. You'll hear Jordan almost kill Colin, Kevin steals one of Max's predictions, and Max fires back with a reboot of a game that we haven't heard of, but looks like it deserves a rebirth. They also speculate about the obvious expected sequels and why we shouldn't see a specific one during the show. Just like the State of Play, everyone should find something to enjoy here, so we hope you love it. Be excellent to each other.
Oregon Ducks legend Jonathan Stewart and USA TODAY's Zachary Neel go through the position groups on the roster and rank them from worst to best going into the 2026 season. THey also take an early look at the betting odds for the Heisman Trophy after spring football. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. See pcm.adswizz.com for information about our collection and use of personal data for advertising.
Kevin just got to preview the game Big Walk with three friends in the Portland area and then he sat down with Nick who was with him to share their thoughts about the game. We hope you enjoy this quick off-the-cuff episode to share our first impressions of the game coming soon to PlayStation and other consoles!
Hello one and all, and welcome back to another episode of Trophy Talk. On this month's episode Colin is joined by Kevin Garaventa and Will AKA Sqweezy from down under! After what has been a difficult week personally for both Colin and Will, the prospect of gathering around the proverbial hearth and talking about trophies and video games was a much needed reprieve, and one the boys were all too happy to take advantage of. We start off the episode by looking forward and backward at what recent episodes have hit the network, and what is to come. Kevin is very hot indeed on Metal Eden and by the time this episode releases, he will already be recording his thoughts on the game for May's PS Plus Game Club. Colin is also excited after a pretty mid experience with Tormented Souls to get to something more light hearted and fun in Luigi's Mansion 2 for May's Surviving the Horror, and Will is looking forward to his future streaming and YouTube videos on his own channel. After introductions the crew discusses their favorite trophies earned in the last month, what we've been playing, answers Patron write ins and also gives our customary Platinum Shout Outs. The bulk of our discussion here centers around what game we would erase from history if we could, and how we think Marathon is performing now that it's been in the wild for a few months time. If Steam charts are any indication, Marathon has roughly 1/3rd the daily active user base of Helldivers 2 which came out 2 years ago at this point. Is the small but hardcore community enough for the game to find continued success? Lastly the team gives some initial thoughts and a gut check on Saros, the newest console exclusive from Housemarque and a spiritual successor to Returnal. We hope you enjoy, and thank you for listening!
Hello one and all, and welcome back to another episode of Trophy Talk! After a few month hiatus Colin returns to the hosting chair, along side Josh of course. Together, they discuss the most recent round of PlayStation hardware price hikes and speculate on what this could mean for the launch of PS6 and the impending launch of Grand Theft Auto 6. From there, Josh and Colin dig into a new game that has been getting quite a bit of media attention lately, Crimson Desert. The contentious initial reviews and impressions of Crimson Desert, mixed with some truly positive analysis and recommendations from players make Crimson Desert a great flash point for examining the do's and don'ts of modern game design. Would you play a game that made you initially tap X to run in 2026? What if it's platinum was still unobtained and was speculated to be over 300 hours? Or, does none of that matter because the point of something like Crimson Desert is to allow you to get lost and build your own stories and adventures in its sandbox? On top of all of that Josh and Colin of course get into some Platinum shout outs, and what they've been playing. Josh has been trying his hand at the aforementioned Crimson Desert and unsurprisingly has quite a bit to say about it. Both Josh and Colin sunk their teeth into Resident Evil Requiem, and Colin has spent a lot of time in the walking sim / graphic novel territory with both Telltales: The Expanse, and Star Trek: Resurgence. As always, we hope you enjoy the discussion. Thank you for listening!
Hello and welcome to another special 5th Sunday episode of Trophy Talk. This time Kevin, Colin, and Zac gather to look back ten years and talk about their game of the year for 2016. Over the course of the episode they take turns counting down their top five games from that year and talk about each one at length. These are all their personal favorite releases from 2016, some of which may sound controversial at first. They go into as much detail as they can (without spoiling anything) and make a case for why each one deserves attention years later. We hope you enjoy hearing them reminisce about one of the best years in game releases and what made it so special.
Join Josh, Kade and Zac...AGAIN... as they continue their reign as the TTP hosts. The crew in this episode have a ton of great, lengthy discussions about the current state of affairs with Sony and Xbox. We additionally hit our thoughts on the Marathon Server Slam and how we feel about multiple playthroughs. To cap it all off, we have the podcast usual topics where we highlight community members with Plat Shout Outs, and dive deep into our backlog goal progress with What We've been Playing. As always, thank you for listening and being a part of this community.
Join Josh with guests Zac and Kade with a K, not a C, as they dive into some hot topics on gaming. Kade and Zac give us their trophy hunting background and goals as they move forward into 2026. Then, the three hosts chime in on the removal of thousands of games from PSN, trophy lists changing across different platforms, boss fights, and what they've been playing. Thank you for tuning in and listening!
Hello one and all, and happy new year! In this, our first episode of 2026, Josh and Colin gather around the proverbial hearth to discuss our lofty goals and dreams for the year ahead. Will this year finally be the year of the backlog? What game purchases and trophy hunts are must buys for us? What games are we looking forward to the most? We touch on all of these topics (many of which are also touched on from our Patreon write ins), and also give some thoughts on more personal goals for the year regarding parenthood, fitness, and life in general. Before all of that though, we begin the episode with a look back at our PlayStation Wrap Up for 2025. These statistics are always interesting and provide valuable insight into just how our year went. It's easy to have an opinion about how your trophy hunts went throughout a calendar year but seeing statistics behind it really puts things in perspective. Whether that's Josh's mammoth amount of games played compared to Colin (even though there hours were not so different in total), or coming to an understanding of the average length of our play sessions, this is all good stuff to dig into and dissect. The episode is rounded out with a great discussion about the various games we've been playing as well as some Plat shout outs pulled directly from our Discord. We hope that you enjoy this first episode of the new year, it's going to be a good one! Happy gaming, and take care all!
Hello one and all, and welcome back to another exciting episode of Trophy Talk! This month, Josh and I (Colin) sit down to catch up on the Thanksgiving festivities and break down 2025 with a few larger topics of discussion. To start off, we dig into our YouTube 2025 recap and what it can tell us about the types of content and media we consume on arguably our most used "streaming" app. If you're like Josh and have three kids who also use your account, you'll end up with some goofy stuff such as Animal Farm Sounds. However, Josh and I realized pretty quickly that many of the metrics and channels being referenced in our wrap ups had to come from YouTube Shorts. So, scroll away folks and watch your recap numbers explode! From there, we dive into a few Patreon write ins that look to summarize how we felt about this year as a whole. Were there any games in recent memory that we started that we wish we didn't? If we were magically given a 30 hour time capsule, would we use that time to finish off games we already have progress in or would we opt to start and finish brand new things from our backlog? Will Colin (I) ever get into and play Arc Raiders? Probably not... We close up our main discussions with a look back at a topic from two months ago, which of the behemoth FPS games "won" 2025. Did Battlefield 6 capitalize enough on one of the weaker CoD entries in recent memory and capture the zeitgeist? Or, despite poor campaigns from both franchises, does the MP, Endgame, Warzone and Zombies package end up as still too high a value proposition to pass up? Josh and I go into great detail breaking down the stats that we can see in addition to giving our own thoughts on both games and their trophy hunts after nearly 50 hours in each of them. We wrap up this final episode of 2025 by talking about a few of the smaller games we've been playing including House of the Dead: Remake, and many more! Thank you all for listening, we'll be back in the first weekend of 2026 to chat about our PSN Year in Review and what we ended up playing over the Holidays. Happy Gaming, and take care!
For this extra weekend Kevin gathers up more hopeful future game ideas from part of the Trophy Talk cast and Discord. We start with a follow-up to Max's latest episode of the Moogle Cast where Kevin was a guest for a breakdown of the Bioshock series. This time he digs into an old folder on his hard drive to share an idea he had for a future game that would follow up Bioshock Infinite. While it still feels like Bioshock, it's a new concept, setting, and story that would include the epic and grand ideas that the series is known for. Then Max takes the stage and shares his extremely detailed design for what the next game for Astro Bot should be. He covers how it should help launch the PlayStation 6 in the same way Astro's Playroom helped the PlayStation 5 and also how it might redeem Sony's failed attempt at live-service games (eeeww). As detailed as some of Kevin's ideas have been, they are nothing compared to what Max has prepared for this game. To follow that up Jordan Vickers stops to pitch some of his ideas for three games that he wants to see. He starts off with a few easy concepts for games that sound like they are perfect new directions for the series they come from, and then pitches a third game that would reboot a long-dead game from the 90's that not many of us have heard of. After finding footage of it and seeing a trailer for a failed reboot, this game has to be made. Gary from the Platinum Achievements podcast then joins in to give some ideas for a few beloved series that already have plenty of games, but deserve even more spin-off ideas into other genres. After a few of these game ideas both Kevin and Gary realize they need to start a game studio because they seem to be so good at adding to each other's ideas. We hope you all have a great weekend and have a great time listening to some more of our lofty dream game ideas. Be excellent to each other!
Hello one and all, and welcome back to another episode of Trophy Talk! In this episode, we continue what has been a long standing tradition (five years to be exact), of reviewing our favorite trophy hunts for the year. Josh and Colin are joined by Kevin Garaventa to break down our honorable mentions, bronze, silver, gold, and platinum trophy awards for our favorite lists to trophy hunt in for 2025. Some of our picks, may indeed surprise you! Related to this topic we had a good deal of write ins to the show that ask us to dissect some of our least favorite, quickest, longest, and most re-visitable picks as well so strap in for a lengthy discussion on this topic! Before all that though we of course have our typical run of the show with favorite pieces of media for October, Platinum shout outs pulled from the Discord, and more. Thank you so much for listening, and for your support. It truly does mean the world to us here at the Trophy Talk Network. So sit back, grab a drink and some popcorn, and enjoy!
Hello there everybody, and welcome back to Trophy Talk! This week we're back to basics with Josh and Colin here to guide you through the latest trophy hunting news, massive game show announcements, and more. It seems like every year Call of Duty is too big to fail. Rarely is Activision's juggernaut franchise challenged by another shooter for supremacy. This year though, things seem to be different. With Battlefield 6 due out in one week's time, and hot off of a very successful Beta over the Summer, is this the year that CoD finally meets its match? Or does the recent acquisition of EA, news of a labored and glitchy campaign, and incredibly grindy trophy list end up positioning BF6 further away from the competition than it would like? We answer all of those questions as well as chat about the recent Sony State of Play, Tokyo Game Show, and other major announcements. Of course, in addition to all that we cover what we've been playing for the month of September, some Trophy Eco System news surrounding exclusive rewards, Patreon questions, and some initial thoughts on our journey with Silent Hill f. We hope that you enjoy the episode, thank you for listening, and take care!
This week we're joined by a very special guest, long time listener, community member and friend, Ray (Smackerly), host of the Platinum Achievements podcast. We have a packed episode full of gaming talk and trophy hunts. After hitting our favorite media, community updates and celebrating some of our listeners, we dive into the main topic of the show: - Ray's take on balancing trophy hunting across PlayStation and Xbox - The huge news of Gears of War arriving on PlayStation - First impressions of its trophy list and massive player response - What this shift could mean for the future of Halo on PlayStation. Last but not least, we discuss what we've been playing to include Division 2, Death Stranding 2, the Exit 8, Anthem, and more! Come join us and please enjoy this latest episode of your favorite trophy hunting show!
Happy fifth Sunday Trophy Hunters! In this special Trophy Talk episode of more fireside chats Kevin gathers a handful of the dads in our Discord to share their experiences of what it's like being a dad who loves video games these days. This includes a variety of guests who all throw in their unique history and perspective as parents and gamers. Kevin also asks each of them to share any special memories they have gaming with their parents as well as what special memories they want their kids have with them as they grow older. We hope you enjoy hearing from a few of the dads of Trophy Talk about games, kids, life, and growing up gaming.
This week on Trophy Talk, Colin and Josh are joined by a special guest—longtime listener and fellow trophy hunter, Will aka Sqweezy! We kick things off with some fun updates from the Discord, including the ongoing raffle event, and share our favorite piece of media from July. Sqweezy gives us the rundown on how he got into trophy hunting and takes us back to some Halo 3 memories—shoutout to Guardian and Oddball. We also dive into a couple of solid Patreon questions, including one about our worst nightmare DLC scenarios (thanks, AC Shadows) and another about misleading game trailers that don't match the final gameplay experience. We wrap it up with what everyone's been playing lately, covering Ape Escape, Little Nightmares 2, Dredge, Death Stranding 2, Synapse, Borderlands, & phasmophobia. Good vibes, lots of laughs, no crabs, and of course, plenty of trophy talk.
Well hello there everybody, and welcome back to another episode of Trophy Talk! I (Colin) have stolen the proverbial keys back from Max and am back reunited with Josh to talk all things trophies and what we've been playing in the month of June. First and foremost a very special thank you goes out to Max and Josh for hosting the show while I was on vacation last month, they did a wonderful job. Second, a big thank you goes out to Kevin Garaventa for hosting and putting together our Network's Fireside chat episode. Not only was this episode really well done, but it also inspired us to start focusing on smaller titles and trophy hunts once again. In discussing that topic on this episode Josh and Colin feel that these smaller titles from indie developers (or retro games) may be the key to rediscovering some of the joys of trophy hunting in the second half of the year. That isn't too say that longer lists like Death Stranding weren't worth the time effort, simply that as life gets busier, it is important to have these smaller pallet cleanser games to keep things fresh. Across this episode, Josh and Colin discuss which shorter experiences have been drawing them in recently, all while addressing Patreon write ins, Platinum Shout Outs, and all the tangents that come along with those topics. Of note is that discussions on Robocop, and Elden Ring Nightreign take up a significant amount of time here as Colin and Josh both try to parse out the things they loved and things they found annoying in Fromsoftware's newest title. Do we recommend Elden Ring: Nightreign to the non-soul's player? Does Josh have any idea what the movie Total Recall is about? All of these answers and more lie just beyond the play button. Thank you for listening, and enjoy!
For this month's extra Sunday the Trophy Talk crew gathers around the virtual campfire to reminisce about some of their favorite trophy lists they recommended on Zac's incredible project, The Record. We each picked three to highlight and covered why we suggested that more people should play them. Zac starts us off with some that really hit close to our hearts. Then Colin, Max, and Kevin each take turns in sharing some of theirs. One of Colin's picks is an excellent entry point for a series that most trophy hunters would overlook. Max impresses us with a few lists that seem impossible, but with dedication they can be done. Kevin talks about why he used a duplicate stack for a particular game as a way to show his love for it, and then reveals that another game became a regular obsession for the better part of a decade. Finally, Josh joins in to put the spotlight on some of the best games no one played and we discover a mutual love for one of them. We hope you enjoy this long-form look at some of the games and trophies we recommend people chase. Happy trophy hunting everyone!

Hello one and all, and welcome back to another episode of Mooglecast! With holiday trips, and schedules being all over the place we have yet another episode for you all where the normally scheduled hosts get shuffled up a bit. This month on Mooglecast Zac is joined by none other than Colin Kolhoven, from Trophy Talk and Surviving the Horror, to discuss a topic that doesn't get enough love in our community, Xbox. Both Zac and Colin have a long history with the ecosystem and consoles, dating back to the original Xbox released on November 15th 2001. It's here that our discussion begins, with the first Xbox console, why we were (or weren't) drawn to it, and what came next. For many trophy hunters, the notion of chasing digital completion lists came with the advent of Xbox 360 in 2005. Xbox for all intents and purposes introduced the world to the notion of "completing" games with achievements that offered in game challenges, a cumulative point system, and a way to brag to your friends and online communities. It seems so strange then that Xbox, which started out it's first two generations so strongly with behemoths like Halo, Gears of War, Morrowind, and Fable, quickly fell from grace in the Xbox One era, and into the early portions of the current gen. As of late though that story has started to change. With multiple massive acquisitions over recent years, Xbox has started to hit it's cadence with regular AAA releases and a plethora of new offerings constantly coming to Game Pass. In essence then, Zac and Colin do their best here to discuss the past, the present, and the future of what Xbox may hold in store. Does its alternate ecosystem to PlayStation perhaps offer a welcome reprieve from constant trophy hunting, and a glimpse into a way that we used to all enjoy games? Maybe so. For context on the current state of Xbox and the future, the boys also go over some of their favorite announcements from the recent Xbox showcase in June of 2025 comparing that shows style and substance with the most recent Sony State of Play. Lastly, as with any Mooglecast episode you can expect updates on The Record, Platinum Shout outs, and a meaty section centering on what we've been playing. We hope that you enjoy the show. Thank you for listening, and be excelling to one another!
This week on the Trophy Talk Podcast, Josh and Max have the keys to the show while Colin is on vacation. The crew does their best not to get cancelled or have the show removed from air as they navigate this week's topics. Josh opens up during "Therapy Time" with Max and we discuss what we've been playing while probably announcing a GOTY pick far too early. Additionally, we tackle wild Patreon write-ins (VR crotch shots?!) and give platinum shoutouts to the communities stand-out hunters. A fun, almost cancelled, trophy-packed episode - Praise Cthulhu and enjoy!

Well hello there everybody, and welcome back to another exciting episode of Trophy Talk. This month we're back to basics with just Colin and Josh so grab a beer , settle in and join them in some long and winding discussions surrounding a cadre of gaming topics. As we do these shows on a monthly cadence now a lot can happen between episodes, and this was definitely the case over the last four week period. Not only did we have the major reveal of Bungie's new extraction shooter Marathon, but we were also greeted with a shadow drop of a beloved 360 era RPG Oblivion, a full state of play on Borderlands 4, and a new trailer and firmed in release date for Sucker Punch's Ghost of Yotei. It truly is a wonderful year to be a gamer, (price increases on hardware and software withstanding). So, as this is a lot of news, and a lot of potential trophy lists and Platinums to earn we naturally spend some time talking about all of these reveals. Perhaps most relevant to all of us though, is that Oblivion now has a Platinum trophy, and one that seemingly doesn't look to difficult to obtain. Oblivion Remaster boasts the kind of list that allows you to play the game how you want to, as any class, race or skill build and still be able to earn the Platinum. While some people may find this type of list to easy, Colin and Josh feel like it's right at home in the open world RPG genre. After our news related topics and discussions we of course jump in to what we've been playing. Josh waxes poetic about a few games on the Xbox side (with parody in PSN trophy lists) as well as continuing to defend his Brick Master title with The Lego Movie 2 Videogame. Colin continues his hiking journey across the post-apocalyptic United States in Death Stranding (and still absolutely loves it even after 60 hours), and dabbles back with an old classic in Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance. Lastly of course we have our Discord / Patreon write ins as well as our Platinum shout outs. We cover a good deal of topics in this episode with some really great conversation, even if we do go on tangents from time to time. Regardless, we hope that you all enjoy the episode. It was a blast to record as always. Thank you for listening, and take care.
Hello hello everyone, and welcome back to another episode of Trophy Talk! Please welcome back for his fourth appearance on the show Patthetrophyhunter. Pat is a long time community member, content creator, and friend of the show and we're always pleased when we get a chance to sit down and discuss trophies and games with him. For this particular episode we chose to discuss a few more nuanced topics that have been kicking around in our brains lately. With the most recent Nintendo Direct and the announcement of Switch 2 it seemed as good a time as any to have a discussion regarding game pricing, and the inevitable effects that inflation is having on our beloved industry. While we use Switch 2 as a jumping off point, we don't speak specifically about that console for long, rather we try and assess what we think the larger video game industry as a whole, and specifically Sony will do with the new information and pricing of Switch 2 games. From there Colin opens a discussion surrounding both Assassin's Creed and Lego games and their respective trophy hunts. With Pat and Josh being massive fans of both franchises it seemed only right to discuss what facets of these games make for compelling trophy hunts, and why both are such great trophy hunting experiences. We also take time in this episode to dig into Pat's newest gaming related hobby, collecting. How does Pat decide which stores or sales to frequent and which lots to buy? Are there specific titles he's looking for more than any others? How does collecting factor into trophy hunting? The topic is a pretty beefy one in the episode and we hope that you find it as interesting to listen to as we did during recording. Lastly we of course touch on the games we've been playing and Platinum's we've earned for the month of March before looking ahead to what April holds. With so many great AAA titles looming just weeks away, is it finally time to say that 2025 being the year of the backlog is done? All of the aforementioned topics plus Platinum Shout Outs, and everything else you've come to expect from Trophy Talk Podcast is right behind the play button. Thank you so much for listening, we hope that you enjoy the episode. Happy Hunting!
The Jets have been the model of consistency, with their stars performing and Cole Perfetti emerging as a key piece. Trophy talk: Ray favours Draisaitl for the Hart Trophy as the league's only 50-goal scorer, while Hellebuyck’s case may be hindered by the sheer existence of the Vezina Trophy. Lane Hutson is now Ray’s Calder favourite over Celebrini. Niko Mikkola was fined $5,000 for a dying-seconds slapshot in the direction of Habs' David Savard, what's the likelihood of retaliation in the rematch? Ovechkin’s goal chase has extra cameras and plenty of hype, but Bettman and Gretzky won’t go on tour just yet. NCAA late-season signings! The Capitals inked Ryan Leonard, who may transition smoothly as a middle-six forward. The Blues signed Jimmy Snuggerud, who will debut vs. Detroit despite the potential pitfalls of tinkering with a winning lineup. Then, LA Kings head coach Jim Hiller dives into the Kings’ incredible home record, the impact of offseason additions, and how Adrian Kempe has become a true star. He also reflects on the challenges of taking over midseason, his respect for Kopitar and Doughty, and the looming playoff showdown with Edmonton.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
For this special 5th Sunday of the month all five of us got together for a special Megacast episode (term coined by Josh) where we make up our own dream Sony showcase. We bring to it some of our dream game ideas for rebooting a number of dead game IPs. Along with us you can imagine what it would be like to see Sony host a blockbuster game showcase on stage like they used to in years past. Many of these might seem like lofty ideas, but this is the showcase of our dreams after all. Over the two and a half hours you'll hear just some of our ideas come out. Colin takes a beloved IP into an unexpected genre. Josh shocks us with one of the funniest sequels to a favorite series to someone out there (probably). Max points out a few obvious holes in Sony's current repertoire. Kevin shows that he may be watching a little too much Critical Role. Zac catches us off-guard with a possible horror game that takes a turn we weren't expecting. And much, much more. We hope you enjoy this episode, and if you do please jump into our Discord and let us know, because we only had time for some of our ideas and this kind of special Megacast could happen again if enough people like the concept. And SIE, we hope you're listening too.
Hey there folks, and welcome back to another exciting episode of Trophy Talk! This week Josh and Colin and joined by none other than Skrilus, hot off of his recent acquisition of the Devil May Cry platinum, to discuss all things trophies, statistics, and PlayStation. We start off the show talking about the recent news surrounding WB Games and the closure of three of their primary studios including Monolith. What does this mean for the future of the IP under the WB banner and do we think the closures were justified? From there we move in to Platinum shout outs pulled from our Discord community before jumping into a whole slew of questions. How do we feel about our current backlog for 2025? Is there one particular game that we already have the platinum in that we want to go back for the DLC and 100%? What are our thoughts on Shuhei Yoshida's departure from PlayStation and Sony? All of these questions fill up a good chunk of time and discussion. Additionally, the crew takes a stab at (with no research) compiling the list of the top 6 most difficult games to Platinum. As you can imagine, there are some familiar names there but some of the nominees might surprise you! Lastly we get into what we've been playing across the month of February. Skrilus goes into more detail on his journey to conquer Devil May Cry, and just what bosses and strategies ended up making the difference for him. Josh earns a staggering 13 Platinum trophies across the month but focuses primarily on Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii and Pacific Drive, and Colin finally completes Star Wars: Outlaws before jumping into another boomer shooter classic in TimeSplitters. Thank you as always for listening to the episode, we hope that you enjoy!
Hello everybody! Welcome back to another exciting episode of Trophy Talk! In this episode, Josh and Colin break down the news and game release information from Xbox's most recent Developer Direct, as well as other news of Forza Horizon 5 coming to PS5. What does this mean for your trophy statistics and backlog? Well, namely there's a shit ton of trophies coming our way. If games from Xbox Studios are any indication, the coming titles like Forza and even Master Chief Collection will keep their exact same trophy lists / achievements lists. On the one hand that's great, you have many many many trophies to potentially earn. At the same time this thinking is a bit sloppy. Trophy lists were never and are never designed in this same way on the PlayStation side. The end result is something like MCC which contains 700 achievements potentially coming over to PS5. Is that really what we want? Or is there a better middle ground where games are brought over with trophy lists designed in a thoughtful way. On top of all that we of course have platinum shout outs and rage gods shout outs brought to you from our Discord! Josh takes the reigns with hosting this episode and does a fantastic job highlighting the smaller and more obscure titles that our community has been chasing Platinums in. Finally, listener inquiries and what we've been playing round out the show. Josh has been chasing his dream of becoming the new drummer for a rock group in his recent VR adventures, as well as chancing survival in multiple games with exclusion zones, (Pacific Drive, and Stalker). Colin continues his incredibly long grind with Resident Evil: Revelations, as well as chats Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League, and his first 20 hours or so with Star Wars: Outlaws. Thank you so so much for listening to the episode, we hope that you enjoy!

Hello there everybody and welcome to the first episode of 2025! We hope that you all had a wonderful and restful holiday season with your family and friends, and got to enjoy some quality relaxation and gaming time. If you haven't heard our announcement episode / dispatch from a week or so ago, there are lots of fun and exciting changes in 2025 for Trophy Talk and the other shows under the Trophy Talk Network. One of the not so fun things, in fact very bittersweet things though is that this episode is Darryl's last episode as a co-host of Trophy Talk. With life changing events on the way for him (which he goes in to this episode) he felt that it was the right time for him to ride away into the sunset. Fear not though, Darryl will still be in the community and we hope to have him on as a guest whenever he feels up to it! Having said that, this episode in the main focuses on what we've been playing for the past two weeks, which as been a lot! Josh has fully immersed himself in the realm of 3D with his foray and continued exploits with the PSVR2. Does it add a whole new dimension to trophy hunting? In some sense yes it does! Darryl closes out the year strong with Life is Strange: True Colors and the platinum in a Discord favorite, Resident Evil: Remake. Colin, eager to game after being away from his console for a few weeks continues his grinds in Resident Evil: Revelations, and Black Ops 6 but also takes a much needed trip to Constantinople / Istanbul in Assassin's Creed: Revelations. Thank you for listening, and enjoy!
Hello everybody, and welcome back to another episode of Trophy Talk! This time, Josh and I (Colin) come together for our last recording of 2024 to go over the statistics and information presented in PlayStation's 2024 Wrap Up. These end of year reviews have become customary over recent years from PlayStation, and we always have an absolute blast recording them. If you're thinking that there are some pretty big differences in the number of games played, or trophies earned between Josh and I you'd be correct. The fun in reviewing these numbers though is in figuring out the why behind the stats themselves. Why do Josh and I both have the most hours played in CoD for 2024? How did Resident Evil 6 and Ghost Recon: Wildlands sneak into our top 5? These are the types of questions that are fun to look at and explore in this year in review. On top of all that goodness we have our Platinum Shout Outs, Rage Gods, Patreon questions, and a quick discussion on our favorite Game Awards announcements. Thank you for listening, and enjoy. We'll see you in January of 2025!
Warmest of Welcomes everybody and SURPRISE! As a little extra something Myself and Zaclre decided to sit down and have an impromtu catch up to talk about what we've been playing and to give our initial thoughts on the majority of exciting new announcements/trailers featured at The Game Awards 2024. This was an informal discussion with not scripts or notes present, 100% rawdogged. For the pre show we discussed the differences between christmas in the typical media sense vs christmas in New Zealand. Which would you prefer? Christmas BBQs on the beach or Mini christmas in July? These are normal things in this corner of the earth. We hope you enjoy the rawdog nature of this episode and we'll see you soon! Be excellent to each other this holiday season! Max
Hey All! We've been quietly working behind the scenes on something for the last 6 months or so here at Trophy Talk and it's finally time to unveil what that is. Please enjoy this 20 minute or so update from myself, Josh, Max, and Kevin. Thank you for listening and have a wonderful holiday season.

Well hello there everyone and welcome back to another episode of Trophy Talk. In this our second to last episode of 2024, the crew has all assembled together to chat about the games that have been grabbing our attention during the final weeks of the calendar year. And what an exciting end of year it's turning out to be with the game awards announcements, PSN Wrap Ups, and new games still releasing at a steady clip. 2024 will undoubtedly go down as a great year in gaming for many of us. However, while we were intending to talk about our official PS wrap ups during this episode, at the time of recording the roll out of the year in review feature was experiencing significant delays and issues, with most people unable to actually access it as intended on December 10th. The end result is that most of this episode is spent discussing Patreon submitted questions, plat shout outs, and Rage God mentions from our Discord. There's nothing wrong with that though, not in the least, as celebrating this community that we've built and the accomplishments that you all have had is one of the best parts about making Trophy Talk episodes. Topics include, what would change in our trophy hunting habits if we got banned from PSN Profiles, what game we think Trump would be an excellent commentator of, and what movie released this year would have had a great opportunity for a tie in AA game. In terms of our individual hunts and successes, Darryl talks up and praises his time on PS Extra this year with two more titles, Tales of Kenzera: Zau, and Killer Frequency. All the while, Josh continues his vole exterminations while also taking time to become incredibly proficient at a tough rhythm game Spin Rhythm XD. Finally, Colin takes some time to discuss one of his favorite ever GameCube era games in Time Splitters 2. We hope that you all enjoy the content and the episode, thank you for listening!
Warmest of Welcomes everybody. As promised DLC Pack episode 6 welcomes the return of SluggerJD aka Josh, where we continue our PS+ Premium Classics Wishlist, this time focusing on the PS2 and what better time to be focusing on this console after Sony recently raised a middle finger to Nintendo and moved the goal post with 160 million PS2 confirmed to have been sold, a fantastic achievement. This time myself (Max) and Josh shortened our lists and named 10 games with 5 honourable mentions, but on an ultra rare occasion decided to open the flood gates and invited all TrophyTalk Podcast discord community members whether patrons or not to write in with PS2 games they'd like to see added to the service, and within the 18 hour window for submissions you guys came through with some great picks bringing us up to around 60 games mentioned. So thank you guys for your submissions. We hope you enjoy this one, please keep an eye out for the announcement as mentioned in the episode, until then I'll be back next month with ThePortlandKevin of the Playstation Plus Game Club to talk about our memories of the Nintendo 64. Until then enjoy the show and be excellent to eachother. Max
Hello one and all and welcome back to another episode of Trophy Talk! As has become somewhat of a tradition in these parts, Josh, Colin and Darryl gather during this episode to provide their definitive ranking for their favorite trophy hunts of 2024! Each member of the crew brought an honorable mention, a bronze award, a silver award, a gold award and a platinum meaning all in all, we talk about 15 games here! That's a ton of games to go over, and you'll be happy and delighted to hear that we actually don't have as much overlap on titles as you might initially think! Before all that though we talk about Josh's new job as an exterminator of Voles as the critters have declared all out war on his house. Even though it's necessary to defend ones home from invaders, it doesn't mean it feels good to do so. From there we also touch on Patron submitted questions including some of our Thanksgiving and holiday favorites, as well as rage about the seemingly never ending stories of stick drift with the Duel Sense controllers. We sincerely hope that you enjoy this episode, and that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving if you observe it. We'll see you soon and happy gaming!
Hello everyone, and welcome back to another episode of Trophy Talk! In our second episode of November the crew is here to chat all about what we've been playing and spending our time in. As you can see from the episode title though, we take a good deal of time in this episode discussing the notion that time is indeed a resource, and our scarcest one at that! With so many great games out, and coming out, just how exactly does anyone play all the things they want to play. With our normal jobs, friends, and family obligations all vying for this same resource of time, it gets tough to juggle. It's a good problem to have though and all of us here on the show take some time to reflect on that fact. Our Patreon submitted questions this week take us down memory lane a bit as we discuss what really got us in to trophy hunting, and what we both like and dislike about the hobby. This of course isn't a new topic for us here on the show but it's a good one to revisit once a year or so as thoughts on the hobby can morph and change over time. Additionally, we chat about what types of trophies make us feel the most satisfaction upon earning them in our hunts! As far as what we've been playing, Darryl has managed to make his way through the brutal 2D metroidvania game of Blasphemous and has great things to say about it. Josh and Colin continue their journey in Black Ops 6 with some updates on the mp and zombies while pausing to play a surprisingly good and addicting Pokémon TCGP. And lastly, Josh discusses a surprise hit in the politically driven narrative game of Road 96 (and it's prequel). Needless to say the boys have been very busy indeed. Thank you for listening, and we hope that you enjoy the episode!
Warmest of Welcomes everybody. This month on DLC pack we're ''celebrating'' the 4th birthday of the PS5 and whilst the system has been the better selling console of the generation, the system and Sony themselves have been met with a lot of criticism by the user base. Like parents with dangerously high expectations of their children that only want to be loved, we thought it best to further criticize our pride & joy on its 4th birthday and talk about how we feel the PS5 can improve... Happy Birthday PlayStation 5. In the chairs this episode are of course myself (Max), along with the big man himself Colin (CKpresent), and a newish face around the discord Kade (TheGreenGorillaGamer). A dynamic power trio to say the least, I've been part of the PlayStation ecosystem since the PS1, Colin from the 360 and transitioned to PS4, whilst interestingly enough Kade had an extremely limited exposure to gaming until only a few years ago which gave us an entirely new and interesting perspective on Sony's growing trend of PS4 to PS5 Remasters. Also in this near 2hr 15min episode we discuss our level thoughts on the generation thus far, Sony's live service initiative, PlayStation's vacant first person shooter spot and our thoughts on the arrival of the PlayStation 5 Pro. We hope you enjoy and I'll see you in December where I'll be reunited with Josh to pick up our PS2 premium classics Wishlist episode. Until then, be excellent to each other. Max
Hello one and all, and welcome back to another episode of Trophy Talk! It's that time of year folks, where we start to take stock of how the year has been in terms of game releases, platinum trophies earned, and goals reached. At this time we also start to look forward, and begin to craft goals for the coming year, 2025. As trophy hunters none of us are strangers to the list, the spreadsheet that will dictate our exact play order of titles for coming weeks or months. But how many of us actually stick to those lists? This episode is all about examining this phenomenon as Josh, Colin, and Darryl look ahead to 2025. What are the crews specific gaming goals for the next year? Are there specific titles that have sat in the backlog for far too long and need to be tackled? Are we changing our approach to completion %? Is there a franchise that we want to focus most of our time and energy on? All of these are great questions, and great jumping off points before even considering what new releases in 2025 will do to those plans. Next year promises to deliver a slew of fantastic games with Indiana Jones and The Great Circle, Doom: The Dark Ages, GTA VI, Ghost of Yotei, and a rumored Resident Evil 9 to name a few. What do these new releases do to our plans for next year? Just how does the crew plan on tackling all of this? We do our best here to speculate, and to codify a game plan. As with all things though, these are subject to change as life will undoubtedly throw us curve balls, both in work, in relationships, and in gaming. We hope you enjoy this episode where we look ahead, at glimpses of the future. Thank you for listening!
Hello there dear listeners! Welcome back to another episode of Trophy Talk! This is our second show for the month of Spooktober, a favorite among our community, and as such it felt right to welcome to the show Gary Cooper. Gary was one of our first ever listeners and community members and is all around just a great guy. We're happy to be joined by him, and Darryl again (yay!) for this episode discussing what we've been playing during the month of October! Before we can get into the meat and potatoes though, there's rage god offerings, platinum shout outs, and Patron submitted questions to discuss of course! What are our new favorite horror movies or franchises? Would the four of us make a good team if we had to pull of heists or other covert operations together? What's the scariest place we've ever been stuck or stranded? Well the answers to all these questions, plus a ton of others, are just behind the play button. Thank you so much for your support, and for listening!
Warmest of Welcomes Everybody. This month on DLC Pack, Max is joined by fellow discord member ZacLre to talk about the Final Fantasy series as a whole. With questions from the audience taking the wheel and steering the show to its destination, we cover our favourite and least favourite games in the series and our thoughts on the evolution of combat systems. Have you ever wondered 'how in great greagors gash am I supposed to get into this series?!' Well we covered that too with our own beginners guide for getting into the series and finally we talk about what Square Enix has planned for the future of the series. We know we can expect the final installment of the FF7 Remake trilogy in 2028 but what does the silent Square Enix have cooking in the meantime? When can we expect Final Fantasy 17? Is Final Fantasy 9 Remake cancelled? What will become of the 20+ year old MMO Final Fantasy 11 in its life support stage? To warm up we also took some time to talk about some of the games we've been playing and had some short thoughts on the previous DLC Pack episode following the September State of Play. We hope you enjoy this one and I'll see you next month for episode 5. Peace! Max [Pre-recorded 5th October 2024]

Hello there dear listeners! Welcome back to another episode of Trophy Talk, and our first episode in October, aka Spooky Season! This is a favorite time of year for many of us in the community as it marks a time when we get to engage with horror media to a greater degree than normal. The nights are getting longer and the weather colder (except in California apparently), meaning it's time to cozy up with a good scary game and earn some trophies. As such, we felt it appropriate to review the trophy list for Bloober Team's Silent Hill 2 Remake, coming out on October 9th. While initially many were skeptical of the game due to its first trailers and gameplay reveals, recent days have seen glowing review scores start to pour in for Silent Hill 2. After seeing these reviews and looking at this trophy list, it is admittedly hard not to get excited. The trophy hunt appears to be faithful to the original list from the HD version of Silent Hill 2 on PS3, while also getting rid of some elements of the original list that made it incredibly frustrating. Don't get us wrong, this list will likely be relatively tough, but that balance appears to be right and there's a speedrun trophy wahoo! With Surviving the Horror this month covering Silent Hill 2, this won't be the last you hear of the game in the coming weeks. That's not all we have in store for this episode though. Community member and long time listener ZacLre has created a fantastic spreadsheet of statistics from our Discord members and we're excited to share some of those findings with you all. Have you ever wondered just what the most platinumed game is among the community or who has the most platinum trophies in Call of Duty and Final Fantasy? Well we're here to tell you the answers to those questions, as well as many more fun facts about our communities cumulative trophies. ZacLre's spreadsheet is a fantastic resource for our community and we're very appreciative of his efforts in making it. Surrounding both of the aforementioned larger discussions, are plat shout outs, our favorite trophy earned in the last week, and a slew of Patreon questions for us to dig into. So sit down, grab a soda (and for Cthulhu's sake some ice), and enjoy the show.
Hello hello dear listener, and welcome back to another exciting episode of Trophy Talk! In this episode Josh and Colin sit down to talk about what games they've been playing for the past few weeks, and let me tell you it's been quite productive for them both. As with most of the PlayStation community, much of the last two week period has been dominated by the release of Astro Bot, from Team Asobi. First revealed in late Spring of 2024 and releasing on September 9th worldwide, Astro Bot serves as a celebration of the past, present, and future of PlayStation. With delightful level design, rock solid platforming, and a slew of easter eggs and references, it's easy to see how Astro Bot has captured the hearts and imaginations of gamers in the PlayStation eco system. But how was it from a trophy hunting perspective? Well, in short, pretty damn awesome. Josh and Colin spend a good deal of time discussing this potential GoTY candidate and the experience of earning the Platinum. From there the two move on to talk about another surprise game this year in Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2. While neither Josh or Colin know too much about the 40K universe, that doesn't really matter. Space Marine 2 is an example of the way games used to be made, with a campaign, PvE, and PvP modes on launch that all function and respect your time. The game is a blast, and well worth your consideration! Other topics in the show of course include Patreon submitted questions where we talk about our favorite traversal mechanics, a dead IP we'd like brought back, and a game mechanic we wish wasn't a thing in games. Additionally, we give a brief update on the TTP Survivor challenge in our Discord, say our favorite single trophy earned over the last two weeks, and shout out the Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, and Lollipop Chainsaw Repop releases. With Silent Hill 2 remake right around the corner as well, it's a good time to be a horror and horror media fan, that's for sure! Thanks so much for listening, and enjoy! =)
Well hello hello there everybody! Trophy Talk Podcast's DLC Pack series makes its long overdue return to your earholes with episode 3 or 1 if you consider it a reboot. Max is running the show this time and sat with him in the guest chair is Josh from the main show and Surviving the Horror. In this episode the boys discuss the revamp and future of DLC pack episodes moving forward. Whilst the main topic of the show focuses on the quality of the PS+Premium catalog and what PS1 games we would like to see come to the service that improve our overall score of the service as a whole. Along with some audience write ins we list a whopping 40+ titles. We hope you enjoy this lengthy discussion as we get nostalgic for these old gems and with Astrobot in the hands of the everyday consumers, this nostalgic trip couldn't have come at a better time. We hope you enjoy the show and keep an eye out for Pt2 where we will be setting our sights on the PS2. Peace! -Max
In the year 2024 of our lord and savior Cthulhu, a schism in the church appeared. What was first a small group of believers with outlandish beliefs in crustaceans, quickly became one of the largest sects within our Discord. Now, in Episode 119, it is time to address this heresy and bring our brothers and sisters back in to the fold. Discord jokes aside, hello everyone! Welcome back to another episode of Trophy Talk! Astro Bot is here, and it has stole the hearts of nearly all PlayStation fans and trophy hunters alike, dominating the most popular games category on PSNP since its launch. Naturally, as our most anticipated game, the boys come together to all discuss this trophy list as a group. It's no surprise that, in addition to being a fantastic and joyous game play experience, the trophy list for Astro Bot is near perfect. Featuring a good distribution, a good assortment of misc. trophies, plenty of collectibles, and most importantly no missables or NG+ trophies, the list is damn near perfect. We hope you're as excited as we are to jump in to Astro Bot, and explore the nostalgic world of Sony's past, present, and future IP. In addition to that discussion we of course have Plat shout outs and Rage God shout outs pulled directly from our Discord, multiple Patreon submitted questions, and a few topics to start off the show. What should Sony do about the Concord situation? Should the game ever come back and in what form? Will the PS5 Pro even have a SKU with a built in disc drive? Will Colin ever play Dead by Daylight? The answers are just behind the play button. Thank you for listening, and happy gaming!
Hello everybody! Welcome back to another episode of Trophy Talk. Wow, what a time in the gaming landscape. With so many solid titles already out this year, and the fall release schedule quickly approaching with major AAA titles, the boys have been getting through some smaller games in their backlogs and preparing for the storm. Along with the Trophy Talk Survivor event going on in the Discord, it's been a very busy time for our community to say the least. Our opening discussions this episode center on the fact that we have finally gotten confirmation that Indiana Jones is coming to PS5 in the Spring of 2025, adding to the growing list of amazing looking titles coming out next year. What does this mean for what other games we could see coming? Excluding the obvious choices of Halo and Gears, what other titles would we hope make the jump to the PS5? From there we have our plat shout outs, and offerings to Cthulhu, our resident rage god. Great work as always by the whole community in your recent trophy hunts! Patreon questions this episode ask us to examine our favorite intros in games, and our favorite sound tracks while closely analyzing which specific trophies in lists make us say "Nah" when going for Platinums. Lastly, we get into what we've been playing. Colin returns once again to RE6 in his quest to Platinum all of the mainline RE games, Darryl contributes to this as well with his playthrough of RE Remake HD, and his continued adventures in Yakuza Kiwami. Josh rounds out the cast with a good discussion of his time with Concord so far, as well as a handful of PSVR2 titles! Is Concord doomed to fail? Does it deserve the apathy its been receiving lately? Perhaps not, but where does one find the time to fit in a game like Concord in a market with so many other titles vying for your time? Thanks so much for listening, and we hope you enjoy! Take care!
