Welcome to Active Reload! It was a slower news week this week in the games world, but then on Tuesday a bunch of breaking news dropped. Bungie announced they would be delaying Marathon, James and Grant talk about what felt like an inevitability for the extraction shooter. Microsoft also confirmed that they are working on new first party hardware in partnership with AMD, something that sounded like the next Xbox would be more of an AMD product with the Xbox logo on it. In smaller news, the voice actors for some of the biggest characters in Red Dead Redemption 2 are teasing some "exciting news" in the Red Dead universe. Could this be the next gen update James bet Grant on a few episodes ago? Finally, Silent Hill is getting a remake from Bloober Team, the same group that remade Silent Hill 2, and all the Silent Hill fans rejoiced at the news. Remember to rate, follow, like, and subscribe!

📦 Deliver at All Cost: reparto caótico a lo Mario Kart con paquetes absurdos y físicas descontroladas. Risas aseguradas. It has been a whirlwind of a week for the games industry. Massive studio closures continue at a rapid pace and now we have Fable delay for the cherry on top! Where to begin? Well, for the Xbox faithful, let's sink into Fable first. It was given a 2025 release window at Xbox's 2024 Summer Showcase, but Playground Games has pulled the plug early on that happening. Announced by new head of Xbox Game Studios Craig Duncan, we also got a glimpse at some pre-alpha gameplay for Fable. The game looks great, at least visually, but has left many wondering what's taking so long? Rumors of this game started kicking around in 2018 only for the game to be fully announced in 2020. By summer 2026, we're looking at six full years of building this game up. So, what gives? Is it a PS5 port, the looming release of GTA VI, or something much deeper? The Dukes discuss in Cog's return! Naturally, we dive deep into the mismanagement of WB Games as we have for weeks. To put an exclamation point on things, they have shut down Monolith Productions, Player First Games, and WB San Diego. Do we all really want George's Vision? Or are we just saying that because its cool now? Is an Elden Ring movie coming? Will Fable release in 2026? I'm not really sure, but we do know the Wonder Woman game is no longer happening. With 007's future now in flux, Harry Potter's is more certain. The MCU changes some dates, and the DCU wipes one of the slate.

Games is making big cuts, closing three studios — Monolith Productions, Player First Games, and WB Games San Diego — and cancelling its long-in-development Wonder Woman game, the publisher told employees on Tuesday. All projects from those studios have been canceled. NetEase began its cuts late last year, with layoffs and studio closures at Mass Effect veteran Mac Walters' new studio Worlds Untold, Halo Infinite design boss Jerry Hook's team at Jar of Sparks, and more recently at Liquid Sword, the company founded by the creator of Just Cause. Quantic Dream, the NetEase-owned developer behind Heavy Rain, Detroit and the upcoming Star Wars Eclipse has broken its silence following the layoffs and shutdowns seen across numerous other NetEase-supported studios. In a statement posted on LinkedIn, Quantic Dream CEO Guillaume de Fondaumière said the studio's teams had not been impacted by NetEase's dramatic cuts, and were "continuing to develop our projects at full pace". In today's Daily Fix: Warner Bros. Discovery made the painful announcement that they were canceling work on the long-in-development Wonder Woman game, and closing three studios. The Wonder Woman game was first announced in 2021, but was stuck in development hell for years. WB reported spent around $100 million on its development. The three studios being closed or Monolith (who also developed the Shadow of Mordor games), Player First Games, and WB San Diego. In other news, Microsoft dropped a new teaser for the next Fable game, and the unfortunate news that the game is delayed until sometime in 2026. And finally, Bloober Team has signed another deal with Konami for a new game. The developer behind the Silent Hill 2 Remake did not announce what game this would be, but it will be based on an existing Konami IP . Another Silent Hill, perhaps? Or Castlevania?
