Reed is an independent political strategist who has spent years advising Fortune 500 companies, and has also worked on several prominent republican campaigns. He joins Adam to assess the Never Trump movement( of which they are both part) from 30,000 feet and the precariousness of democracy. How will Trump's legal predicaments affect his electoral fate? What percentage of independent/Haley voters does Biden need to win re-election? Is to easier to run against Trump when he is the incumbent than when he is a challenger? Has Biden lost the center over his policies on the border, campus protests and inflation? It's America or Trump and you can't have both as Adam and Reed discuss and drive home.Subscribe to Reed's Substack The Home Front here: https://reedgalen.substack.com/Follow Reed on Social: Twitter/X @reedgalenAll things Lincoln Project here: https://lincolnproject.us/Thanks for helping us save democracy one episode at a time! Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg Reveals New Evidence in Trump Case Is Devoid of Significant InsightsIn the ongoing criminal prosecution of Donald Trump, Manhattan's District Attorney, Alvin L. Bragg, made a noteworthy announcement last week. In a surprising revelation, Bragg stated that the newly disclosed documents related to the case appear to contain little of substantial value. This news comes a week after Bragg consented to a brief postponement in the proceedings. The ongoing investigation, led by Bragg's office, has been focusing on probing the financial dealings and operations of the Trump Organization. Despite the extensive and comprehensive nature of the inquiry, this recent development indicates a temporary halt in the discovery of groundbreaking insights. The side-lined documents came to light a week after Bragg agreed to a brief delay in the proceedings. The implications of this agreement, though not thoroughly spelled out, signified a possible turning point in the case. However, the subsequent announcement by Bragg deflated any growing expectations. Even though the new documents yielded little materials of value, they form another piece of the expanding puzzle in the high-profile case against Donald Trump. These papers, devoid of impactful content, are a testament to the rigorous and relentless nature of the investigation led by Bragg and his team. Critics and supporters alike have been keenly watching the progress of this case, as it forms a crucial part of understanding Trump's business operations throughout the years. However, the current revelation leaves more questions than answers. This is a notable direction for the case, as it reiterates the challenges faced in the investigation against the former president. Although this may seem like a setback, it is imperative to note that breakthroughs in such investigations often happen in unexpected and unpredictable ways. The string of events, including the agreement to delay proceedings and the subsequent unproductive disclosure, casts a spotlight on the tremendous pressure under which Bragg's office operates. The district attorney and his team continue to be committed to uncovering the truth in a case that holds considerable public and political attention. Despite this temporary roadblock, the case is far from over. Bragg's announcement serves as a reminder that the pursuit of justice is an arduous journey often riddled with unexpected twists and turns. The Manhattan District Attorney's office remains steadfast in its endeavor to uncover the truth, regardless of how daunting the path might seem.

Friends,Good morning, and welcome back to my Saturday coffee klatch with Heather Lofthouse (executive director of Inequality Media Civic Action), where we examine the highs, lows, and even lower points of the previous week. Pull up a chair and grab a mug shot. This morning we're looking at:— Trump's arraignment in Georgia on Thursday, and his brazen use of imagery and marketing to circumvent rational thought. Is this the tactic of a fascist?— The Republican primary debate Wednesday evening, which exposed the GOP candidates' extreme positions on abortion, climate, immigration, and education. Did any of them emerge as an alternative to Trump?— Biden's “Goldilocks” economy continues, although Fed Chair Jerome Powell continues to insist that inflation is too high. If the Fed raises interest rates further, will it push the economy into recession?— Why Heather is a dog person and Bob is a cat person. Alex Skolnick, lead guitarist for Testament, wrote a popular essay for Newlines Magazine about the importance of artists speaking up at a time of political turmoil. In this conversation with NLM's Faisal Al Yafai and Idrees Ahmad he explains why artists should speak honestly about social and political upheaval, why he doesn't worry about losing fans who disagree with him – and why he wrote a rap song called “Trump Sucks”.

For over a dozen decades we have created a crisis in Central America and since the 1930's we have had a very broken immigration system. Coupled with 4 years of the dismantling of the US Government by the previous president and a deliberate stalling of confirming the Biden Cabinet, the crisis was bound to happen. After four treacherous years of race baiting and bigotry, we are so very broken And with the previous president's creation of for profit interment of immigrants within the US border and squalid "stay in Mexico" refugee camps during a global pandemic, the crisis is epic! Biden was left flat footed, but a lot of the shaky immigration structure laid to waste. The ONLY thing Biden can do is "Build Back Better" and that will take T I M E and Patience! www.HeartlandMamas.com#DemCast #DemCastIL

Released only 3 days before Trump's impeachment trial for his incitement of the Capitol Riot, this episode shines light on Hitler's failed coup of 1924: The Beer Hall Putsch. While he was a little-known political figure in prior years, this coup attempt would skyrocket Hitler to a position of fame across Germany and around the globe. His subsequent trial served as a platform upon which he was able to spout his hateful, false grievances, further promoting the conspiracy that the German army had been "STABBED IN THE BACK" by the left and the Jews in Germany. The parallels to what we saw on January 6th are shocking. In both events, a fascist leader riled up his base and sent them to overthrow a democratically elected government. Rather than the Friekorps, SA, or Storm Troopers, we say Proud Boys, Qanon idiots, and Oath Keepers--all white nationalists who have been ginned up with absurd conspiracies about the left. We must study the past if we wish to prevent fascism from taking hold in America and elsewhere around the world.
