What is the deal with ‘old man strength' and why does Dr. Armstrong find it somewhat offensive? The concept of “old man strength” suggests that as men age, some may develop strength beyond what would be expected based solely on their muscle mass or apparent physical condition. In this episode, Dr. Armstrong and Corbin Bruton discuss “old men strength”, why some men (and we don't ignore the women) possess it, and why it is important for… aging well.Check out the article in Men's Health titled “What's the deal with ‘old man strength'?" Kate graduated as a social worker but soon realised it wasn’t the path she wanted to take. She then went down a few other paths before she realised that her passion was all about working with Not-For-Profits and helping them stand out.As she began helping more Not-For-Profits, she realised that there is no necessarily right or wrong way of doing social media, it’s about trial and error. And Kate’s business, Social Mediology, was born.Kate is most passionate about working with change makers and innovators. Often change magers and innovators have a tribe or community and they don’t know what to do with them or how to engage. And that’s where Kate’s zone of genius zone starts - helping these people learn how to energise and activate communities and motivate people to act on their calls to action. As Kate has built her business, she has discovered another group of people who need her help. This second group is typically made up of people who are 40+ or are in small teams. She serves them by helping them understand who their ideal client is and how they can connect with them on social media.Visit us here at https://onlinebusinessliftoff.comIf you'd like to reach out and say "hi" you can find Trudy on LinkedIn.

This week's episode features a conversation with Janice Engel and Carlisle Vandervoort, director and producer of the award-winning documentary ‘Raise Hell: The Life & Times of Molly Ivins” being released in the UK just in time for the upcoming US elections. Molly Ivins, a columnist, was dubbed “six feet of Texas trouble”. She took on the ‘Good Old Boy' corruption wherever she found it—most notably through her razor sharp attacks against President Bush, father and son. Her wit left both left-wing and right-wing laughing, and wanting more of her writing. Molly knew the Bill of Rights was in danger, and she said at the time: "Polarizing people is a good way to win an election and a good way to wreck a country." Her words could not ring more true today.Janice and Carlisle share the story behind making their documentary about Molly, from knowing instantly this was the subject to go forward with to trying to raise funds to make a movie about a progressive journalist in the pre-Trump era. They talk about the passion needed to bring such a project to fruition, and share the lessons they've drawn from Molly's wisdom and life journey.—————Visit:TBIF: thebrandisfemale.comTD Women Entrepreneurs: td.com/ca/en/businessbanking/small-business/women-in-business/Follow us on Instagram: instagram.com/thebrandisfemale

"The best way to defeat an enemy is to make them your friend." --Abraham Lincoln Dustin Thompson, head programmer for Olive Branch CrossFit, can't stand losing. As he has continued to make his way up the CrossFit leaderboard as one of the areas most elite athletes, he could not help but notice the competitive scores which were consistently being entered by a gentleman named Gus Vandervoort. Dustin, being an intelligent and rational person, instead of having Gus killed or deciding to make him an enemy, he reached out to Gus and they have since become training partners. Gus is a lifetime gymnast who has owned a gym since the mid eighties. Like many of us, life got in the way of Gus's devotion to fitness and found himself 50lbs overweight and living a sedentary lifestyle.  Gus suffered from a self disgnosed case of "H-Disease" which is comprised of hemorroids, high blood pressure, heartburn, hypertension and high cholesterol. He has suffered a heart attack, multiple stints, and numerous surgeries from past injuries, but found CrossFit and has gotten his health back on track. Coach Gus is currently 40th in THE WORLD at the CrossFit Open in the age 55-59 Masters category. We are excited to get to watch Coach Gus as he makes his way towards the CrossFit Games. Take some advice from Gus and Dustin, don't count yourself out, don't believe yourself to be too far gone, and don't tell yourself that you can't....cause you can.
