「日本代表主将の遠藤航、国際プロサッカー選手会で訴えていることとは？」　　プレミアリーグのリバプールに所属する日本代表主将のMF遠藤航が、世界中のサッカー選手の労働環境改善に向けて声を上げている。　遠藤は、国際プロサッカー選手会（FIFPRO）のグローバル・プレーヤー・カウンシルのメンバーとして、過密日程や移動負担、人種差別といった課題に取り組んでいる。　1965年にパリで設立され、現在はオランダに拠点がある国際団体『FIFPRO』の公式サイトが報じたところによると、遠藤は37人で構成されるグローバル・プレーヤー・カウンシルの一員として活動している。このカウンシルには、リバプールのチームメイトであるMFアレクシス・マック・アリスターや、UEFA女子チャンピオンズリーグを5度制したチェルシー・ウィメンのDFルーシー・ブロンズらが名を連ねている。　遠藤は「選手の環境を改善することです。移動や労働条件など、さまざまな問題があります」と述べ、「FIFPROを通じて私たちの意見を継続的に伝え、選手を支援し、より良い環境をつくっていくことが重要です」と訴えた。特に過密日程について、遠藤は「試合数が年々大幅に増加している中で、選手がより良い環境でプレーできることが不可欠です」と強調している。　また、遠藤はクラブの本拠地から遠く離れた代表選手が直面する移動負担にも言及した。「特にアジアや南米の選手にとって移動の負担は非常に大きく、そうした問題に取り組みながら代表活動を続けていく方法を見つける必要があります」と指摘している。　さらに遠藤は反アジア人差別への取り組みについても語った。「反アジア人差別はこれまであまり注目されてこなかったと感じています。だからこそ、このような活動に取り組むことが、人種差別をなくすうえで重要だと思います」と述べ、「より多くの人が人種差別について理解を深め、人種差別の存在しない世界を築ければよいと思います」と訴えている。
