Drawing inspiration from Stephen Covey's "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People" and Jordan Petersen's "12 Rules for Life," we share three key points to help you cultivate the skills you need to succeed. Finally, we talk about the importance of self-care and self-compassion, two qualities that can be challenging for veterans who are used to putting others first. It's not the dog in the fight, it's the fight in the dog that matters. This is the one more dogfight mentality - fighting until the end. Just like Maverick in Top Gun, just like the Penrith Panthers in 2021 and 2022. One more dogfight is in you, and all you have to do is adopt this mentality and you can win. It's about being obsessed, relentless, and creativity to go that extra mile to ensure you win at all costs. We dive into the wider issue we're seeing with the NRL, where we see the same merry-go-round of young talented players who're highly paid being assumed they also have leadership capabilities. The NRL is notorious for thrusting inexperienced leaders into leadership positions without the support network or systems in place to appropriately guide them to success. We provide the Critical Alpha spin on it at the end just to give you an insight into what the wider systemic issues look to be and what we can potentially do about it in the future.
Critical Alpha, Critical Angle of Attack, is the angle at which you start to produce lift. Yes, this is an analogy taken from Aviation. It's not about ‘being alpha', if you've read into this like that - you've got us all wrong. Critical Alpha is about helping you adjust your angle of attack, whether it be in sport, business, or life, so that you can outperform and win! Let's just step through what adjusting your angle of attack looks like. Because, well if you don't know you're on the wrong angle, you will just continue on the same path - without truly achieving the right angle of attack so that you can achieve lift. See this is how Critical Alpha works. It's a muscle - and the more you use it, the stronger it gets. You start to sense what's ahead of the curve. In aviation, you have to fly ahead of the aircraft, and visualise where you'll be long before you get there. Wherever you are right now, you've moving in A DIRECTION. You need to figure out where you'll be in 3-6 months, and ask the question now - is that where you want to be? if not - what has to change now, so that I don't land in that position in 3-6 months? because where you are now is a direct result of your decision making from 6 months, 12 months, previous to now. Critical Alpha guys - its a culmination of the best of the best training from Aviation and Crew Resource Management, taken from the Fighter Pilots Edge - and provided to you. We are bringing this cutting edge training, mentality, and way of life - to you, so that you can think like a fighter pilot, and live life on the edge where you are in control of your craft. Make the decision now - go over to our website criticalalpha.com to find out how you can adjust your angle of attack to out perform and win.
Alan Watts was a well-known British philosopher, writer and speaker, best known for his interpretation of Eastern philosophy for Western audiences. Born to Christian parents in England, he developed interest in Buddhism while he was still a student at King's School, Canterbury. Subsequently, he became a member of Buddhist Lodge, where he met many scholars and spiritual masters, who helped him to shape his ideas. He was a prolific writer and began writing at the age of fourteen. Many of his early works were published in the journal of the Lodge. At the age of twenty three, he migrated to the USA, where he first received training under Zen master, but left before he was ordained. He then studied Christian scriptures and functioned as a priest at Chicago for six years before leaving for San Francisco to pursue an academic career. Simultaneously, he started giving talks on Eastern philosophy and soon developed a wide audience both at home and abroad. Apart from writing more than 25 books, he has also left an audio library of nearly 400 talks, which are still in great demand.
Robert Kiyosaki is truly a multi-talented personality. He is an entrepreneur, investor, motivational speaker, author and also a financial knowledge activist. He is very popular for his series of books called ‘Rich Dad Poor Dad'. Kiyosaki is a Japanese American who was born in Hilo, Hawaii. He went to the U.S Merchant Marine Academy soon after graduating from Hilo High School. He graduated from the academy as a deck officer in 1969 and was honored with the Air Medal when he served in the Vietnam War as a gunship pilot. In 1975 Kiyosaki left the Marine Corps and worked as a Xerox machine salesperson. Three years later he started his own company that sold Velcro surfer wallets. The company did well for some time but unfortunately went bankrupt. In the beginning of the 1980s Kiyosaki tried his luck in a business that certified Heavy metal rock band T-shirts. He sold this business in 1985. Nearly a decade later after struggling to achieve success Kiyosaki decided to retire at the age of 47. However he rose once again in 1997 when he established Cashflow Technologies, Inc. This company incorporates and runs two of his brands namely, Rich Dad and Cashflow. Apart from running Rich Dad and Cashflow Technologies Inc. Kiyosaki has also invested in several other business ventures. In 2002 he purchased a silver mine in South America and took a gold mine public in China. In his book ‘Conspiracy of the Rich' he has mentioned that he intends to take a copper mine public as soon as the copper price and value will increase. Even as a teenager Robert Kiyosaki worked with gold and silver coins. He has a theory that with a few dollars you can buy precious metal coins and that will actually get you ready for the ‘biggest crashes in world history'. He calls himself a ‘gold bug' because he has several commodities like silver and gold so he can save himself from any losses against the misprinting of the U.S dollar. Kiyosaki is also a real estate investor. He spends a lot of his money on these investments and has many real estate development ventures. He has various property management projects running throughout America. His assets include big apartment complexes, hotels and golf courses as he revealed in The Alex Jones Show in 2010. He is also the head and investor of oil drilling operations as well as oil wells and even a startup solar company. However he suffered a loss with his company Rich Global LLC that announced bankruptcy in August 2012. His book series ‘Rich Dad Poor Dad' is an international bestseller. It is basically a comparison between his two ‘dads'; one was his poor biological father and the other ‘fictitious' rich dad. The poor father was in fact very educated but had no money but the rich father was a high school dropout but was in fact ‘Hawaii's richest man'. Robert Kiyosaki has appeared on television several times including on Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), KOCE, California, WLIW of New York and New Jersey area and his fund raising drive.
