Join our host Scott Hall, of Hall'Em In Fishin' as he brings you this spectacular interview with Dr. Guy Harvey. Dr. Guy Harvey is a unique blend of artist, scientist, diver, angler, conservationist and explorer, fiercely devoted to his family and his love of the sea. Growing up in Jamaica, Dr. Harvey spent many hours fishing and diving with his father along the Island’s south coast. He was obsessed with the creatures of the sea and began drawing pictures of the many different fish he observed. Dr. Harvey's artwork can be found in art exhibits, stores, galleries, restaurants and at fishing tournaments. He makes appearances at store openings as well as public appearances for a variety of environmental causes. From his early inspirations, Guy’s natural gift to recreate marine life has propelled him from Professor of Marine Biology to a Wildlife Artist and Photographer. Guy initially opted for a scientific education, earning high honors in Marine Biology at Aberdeen University in Scotland in 1977. He continued his formal training at the University of West Indies, where he obtained a Doctorate in Fisheries Management. In 1985, he depicted Ernest Hemingway’s famous fishing story "The Old Man & the Sea" through a series of 44 original pen and ink drawings and displayed them at an exhibition in Jamaica. Based on the positive response he received at the show, Dr. Harvey began painting full time and by 1988 was providing custom artwork for use on a variety of products. Guy began to travel the world to gain more knowledge of the habits and activities of marine wildlife. He became an avid scuba diver and skilled underwater photographer. He pioneered a technique of diving and photographing free-swimming billfish. His personal observations made during these diving expeditions have better enabled him to capture the detail in his paintings that contributes to the popularity of his work. A passion for the beauty and wonder of the underwater world has driven Dr. Guy Harvey to be a leading conservationist and advocate for the protection of our environment. Guy dedicates much of his talent, time and resources to programs that protect our oceans, fish population and reef systems. The Guy Harvey Research Institute at Nova Southeastern University and The Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation have taken on a leadership role in providing the scientific information necessary to understand and protect the world’s fish resources and biodiversity from continued decline. Peace, Love and Harmony with “High South” on Backstage Hall Pass

It’s All About Peace, Love, and Harmony in this episode of “Backstage Hall Pass”. Join your host Scott Hall as he has some dialogue with Kevin, Jamey and Phoenix from High South! The media world was captivated by the emotional debut album "Now" by American musicians, High South. Their sound is evocative of sunshine, freedom and the southern United States, and certainly reminiscent of their heroes - harmony vocal groups like THE EAGLES, THE BYRDS and CROSBY, STILLS, NASH AND YOUNG. The magic that lies within this musical decade and in the timeless songs that were never crushed by fads or trends and HIGH SOUTH seems to be exactly the band that will deliver the spirit of this music in the future... Shortly after the release of the band's first CD in Summer 2013, High South charted Top 10 in several countries in Europe. Directly on the heels of countless live shows, including radio and television performances in Europe and the very successful debut CD, these creative musicians and songwriters started writing and recording their second album, which has the same name as the band itself – HIGH SOUTH. "We wanted an album title with a statement", says Jamey Garner, "because we feel like we've discovered our voice both as artists and as a band." The band's very personal follow-up CD, which was recorded almost entirely in a "live studio situation" was co-produced by band Manager, Christian Knoll - who has remained a constant and influential part of the High South story from the very beginning - and legendary Nashville Engineer/Producer and Grammy Award winner Chuck Ainlay. High South has most recently joined forces with Nashville producer songwriter and guitar legend, Josh Leo. Together they are finishing their third Studio CD in Nashville Tennessee. High South band mates - Kevin Campos, Jamey Garner and Phoenix Mendoza - three gifted "lead singer-songwriters" delivering one undeniable voice. In this episode of Backstage Hall Pass we explore the bands influences, history, tour dates, songwriting and musical memories! "Their harmonies are so perfect and I smile as it takes me back to the first time I heard CROSBY, STILLS, NASH, AND YOUNG..." - Kim Carnes, Music Artist.

Finally after 90 minutes of unprecedented brutality, the crowds watched as the heroine of the film, the one survivor, floated on a boat away from the carnage toward the morning light. The calming music, early daylight, and approaching police cars let everyone know it was okay, it was over. That’s when HE showed up: the boy in the lake, Jason Vorhees. He leapt from the water, deformed, covered in seaweed and rot and dragged the last survivor into the water. And thus, the legend of Jason Vorhees was truly born. The young actor who played that role is Ari Lehman. He was only on screen for a few seconds, but many people feel that those few seconds are the most frightening of the entire Friday the 13th series. Those few seconds of film have terrified audiences for 35 years now. Nowadays, Ari Lehman is an accomplished musician and the front-man of the band First Jason. We caught up with Ari for a phone interview prior to his upcoming tour in Germany, England and winding up at the JD Legends "Helloween" Event on Saturday, October 28th. Give this "Spooktacular" episode a listen as we take you behind the scenes of one of the most iconic horror films of all time! In his "Backstage Hall Pass" interview Mike shares about growing up with music in his house, his move to Nashville, a new band in the works and his home base for entertaining, Tootsies Orchid Lounge! 'Mom's' was the original name of Tootsie's Orchid Lounge, Tootsie Bess bought Mom's in 1960. She credits a painter with naming Tootsie's. She came in one day to find that he had painted her place orchid...thus the name Tootsie's Orchid Lounge. Famous early customers were Kris Kristofferson, Faron Young, Willie Nelson, Tom T. Hall, Hank Cochran, Mel Tillis, Roger Miller, Webb Pierce, Waylon Jennings, Patsy Cline and many more. Performers at the Opry would sometimes sneak out the side door and grab a drink at Tootsie’s between sets.
