The Kid and Fiona take listeners on an escapade through the wilds of human curiosity, auditory fetishes, and the perils of modern dating. Strap in for a ride that zigzags from the tactile pleasures of a finger in the butt to the existential dread of receiving an unsolicited micro-penis picture, all while trying to navigate the cacophonous world of online dating. Highlights Include: Butt Sniffing Beginnings: The philosophical musings on how a simple act of posterior exploration can lead to an avalanche of unexpected, and often unwelcome, adventures. Soundscapes and Scenery: An ambitious foray into the world of ambient sounds leads our hosts down a path of crowd cheers, hospital ambiance, and the triumphant misuse of an ambulance sound effect. Biking Misadventures: A seemingly innocent bike ride turns into a rescue mission for a scooter-riding, pint-sized person who bit the dust in spectacular fashion. This segment explores the anatomy of a disaster, the confusion between an ambulance and ambiance, and the merits of lying still when you're bleeding from the head. The Tower of Power(lessness): A recount of drinking escapades in a tower, leading to philosophical reflections on the state of being drunk, the viscosity of blood alcohol levels, and the cosmic joke of trying to pick up a date while oozing bodily fluids. Musical Mayhem in Nature: Discover how Rage Against the Machine can turn a peaceful nature walk into an anarchic romp through the woods, disturbing deer and humans alike. Dating Disasters: Dive deep into the treacherous waters of modern dating, where dick pics are currency, and consent is a concept as elusive as a unicorn in a haystack. Learn how not to impress with tales of genitalia, unsolicited sexual invitations, and the art of ghosting. Final Thoughts: In an episode that covers everything from heroic interventions on bike trails to the existential crisis induced by the online dating scene, The Goin' Deep Show proves once again that it is the quintessential guide to navigating the absurdity of human existence with humor, irreverence, and a healthy dose of skepticism. Join us next time, where we'll explore whether clitty titties can save the world or if we're doomed to be smothered by the soft serve turds of fate. Remember, folks, in the world of The Goin' Deep Show, every episode is an adventure, every sound a symphony, and every conversation a chance to plunge into the depths of the delightfully deranged. Tune in, turn up, and Go Deep.

Interview by Kris PetersJapanese metal outfit Violent Magic Orchestra (VMO) are certainly a unique experience. Harmoniously integrating the genre of black metal music with techno, industrial, and noise in the form of an art-project, VMO can be best summed up as sounding like Black metal meets Kraftwerk.Violent Magic Orchestra combine numerous genres and sub-genres of music united together in a form of live-performances with the contribution from Kezzardrix - a maestro of live-visuals with strobe lights and smoke machines accompanying band's performance. They are a stunning visual band and a captivating live band and will make their way to Tasmania later this month to play at Dark Mofo.HEAVY caught up with one of the members Kei to find out more."Our music is very dark and a little bit happy," he explained. "VMO has many strange members, like Master Of Strange Dance. We have a lot of noise people who make noise and more beat and experimental space. We have a lot of hidden members. I think we are a strange collective who work a lot of other things. After releasing Death Rave I want to show who joined VMO." VMO will be releasing their new album Death Rave later this year, and we ask Kei if it will be what fans expect."We hope Death Rave... In our opinion Death Rave is huger music. Our concept is 2099, the end of the world. Now we live in 2023 and our music is a little bit experimental, but in 2099 our music is like pop music," he offered. "We connect future pop music and nowadays experimental music. We want to make the road to the future now using dance and mosh pit sounds."In the full interview Kei talks about playing at Dark Mofo, what to expect from a VMO show, their recent single Venom, new single Supergaze, a brief history of the band, the blending of sounds and where it comes from, more on Death Rave and more.

Interview by Kris PetersKnocked Loose are returning to Australia next month as part of the first ever Knotfest Australia run of shows.Having only been here the once before, fans who witnessed those shows can attest to the majestic ferocity of their live performances, and those who missed them... well you have a chance to rectify that over three shows on March 24,25 and 26 in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.HEAVY spent some time with frontman Bryan Garris this week to get the lowdown on what to expect."I'm very, very pumped," he smiled. "I was just saying to somebody that Australia is one of our favourite places to be and it's so long since we've been back."Being that this is the first time Knotfest has spread its wings to Australia, the addition of Knocked Loose to the travelling event seems like just rewards for a band who has taken the world by storm in their brief existence."It is a huge honour," Garris nodded. "It's an honour to just be included. We were fortunate enough to play in Iowa a couple of years ago and that alone was an amazing opportunity. To be able to take it to Australia and for it to be your first time in Australia... it's like pretty legendary and we are very excited to be able to play a small part in that."In the full interview, Bryan talks more about the run of shows, who he is most looking forward to touring with on the line-up, the strong Australian representation, checking out local bands while they are here, what to expect from Knocked Loose's shows, their last EP A Tear In The Fabric Of Life, how much of that they will be playing live, the concept behind that album, if it is easier or harder to write to a conceptually based theme, future new music and more.

Interview by Erin EddyAs you'll hear in the following interview, Russkaja are a band to get excited about. HEAVY scored theopportunity to talk with vocalist Georgij and guitarist Engel to discuss the ins and outs of thischarismatic band.Hailing from Austria, but with roots in Ukrainian and Russian culture (and let's face it, probably alittle bit of everything in between), Russkaja fuse the sounds of traditional klezmer music with metal, punk and ska. They sing in mostly Russian, but also German, some Spanish, some Italian and someEnglish. An attempt to describe this band really does nothing to adequately summarise the dynamicsof their sound and just how infectious it is.With their seventh album, Turbo Polka Party, to be released on February 3 rd , Engel described howthey ventured towards a slightly heavier sound on this record with leanings toward the influences oftheir younger days, like Soulfly, Biohazard and Metallica; “also, after that last record we did that wasa little bit softer, I just wanted to do some riffs and some guitar driven stuff,” he said. While their music is fast paced and upbeat and makes you want to dance like a crazy person, theirlyrics often counteract that with political and social commentary.“The first song on the record, called No Borders, was directly inspired by the stuff that's going onnow in Europe. It's definitely not the happiest times we've ever had.” Engel said, of the conflictbetween Ukraine and Russia.Have a listen to our interview with Georgij and Engel and make sure you check out not only thenewest album Turbo Polka Party, but the rest of Russkaja's back catalogue. We promise you, it's agood time!
