We had a great time talking with Will Wesley from the road! He phoned in his interview on his return home from the Josie Awards, after performing at the CMA stage and receiving 4 nominations. We visited about his song “12:00 in Texas” which he wrote for his brother whopassed away from a drug overdose, putting the cellphone and going outside.   Grit has forever seeped from the pores of country rocker Will Wesley. He was born a rebellious one, sneaking into bars at 15 to play the blues that pumped through his veins. But today, Wesley follows in the footsteps of artists such as Eric Church and Jason Aldean, more than ready to show off his rock edge as much as his tender, lyrical heart. And despite a career that has already found him touring several countries in Europe and Southeast Asia, performing in venues such as the Switzerland International Country Music Hall of Fame and the Jackson, Mississippi Civil Rights Museum, playing alongside the likes of Alabama, Jason Boland & the Stragglers and Robert Cray, this is somewhat a new beginning for Will Wesley as he finds himself ready to conquer the world.  Check Will out here-- Website: https://www.willwesleymusic.com/ Facebook: Will Wesley Instagram: Willwesleymusic YouTube: @willwesleymusic

Will WesleyTake a walk with me down Fascination Street as I get to know country singer / songwriter Will Wesley. In this episode, we chat about his growing up in the Baton Rouge area, and what got him into music. Naturally we discuss the best Cajun food in his local area, and he tells me a couple of cool restaurants to eat at. Next, we move into how he gained his country & blues street cred, by competing in battle of the bands style pickin' contests. Will explains to me why he decided to cover the timeless gospel song 'Go Tell it on The Mountain'. and what makes his different than the rest. Then we talk about his new single '12 O'clock In Texas'. We spend most of the episode talking about the reasons he wrote this song, and the tragic loss of his brother. The conversation turns to sobriety, and addiction. I ask Will about some of the places he has played, and some of the places he will play on the current tour. Luckenbach! Finally, we discuss his recent experiences at The Josie Awards and working with some folk & bluegrass icons on a couple of musical collaborations. Make sure you check out 'Both Sides Of The Tracks', 'A New Kind of Blues', and 'Leah'. Do NOT miss him on tour in 2025! Check out WillWesleyMusic.com for tour dates and venues.

Her already recorded song, "Somebody Here is Walkin" especially drew all eyes to it as it was an excellent Country single as was "Givin A Damn (Don't Go With My Outfit) I'm OK With Me" which will also be featured in this show. In 2022, Pamela was an Official Nominee for 3 Arkansas Country Music awards; Country Artist of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year, and Album of theYear.  In 2023, Pamela is an official nominee for several other awards this year including Country Song of the Year for “I Love You Most,”  and Americana Song of the Year for “Squirrel Train” with the Josie Awards.  Her song, "Givin' a Damn (Don't Go With My Outfit),"  is also the title of her new 8-song album which became available for sale on December 21, 2021.   She has some great custom logo merch to go with this song/album release. Check it out on her merch page and be sure to order before she runs out!   She has more music being released throughout 2023 and she can't wait for her fans to hear her new co-written music, she said, "I am so excited to put out new music that will hopefully make people connect with me and with their inner-selves.  I have worked hard to put my whole heart into my writing and vocal performances on each song." “When we are able to express ourselves, we can let go of different things that we've been through.” Kendra Muecke. There is no limit to what possibilities are available when it comes to art, and this is especially true in times of change and uncertainty. The entertainment industry which was especially hit by the effects of the pandemic proved this after they were forced to explore new possibilities to showcase the creations and connect with their audience. Our guest today, Kendra Muecke, was able to explore such possibilities and got to live an exceptional experience during this period. She affirms the importance of embracing and being confident in your art even in the most difficult of times. Kendra Muecke is a singer/songwriter, writer, actress, and published author from Houston, TX-based now in Los Angeles, CA. She performs under the stage name “Kendra & the Bunnies”, as a psychedelic folk-rock Americana and spoken word artist. “Kendra & the Bunnies” performs both as a full band and as a solo acoustic act. She graduated from Pepperdine University with a BFA in Theatre Arts and has, additionally, studied music business/recording at the Musicians Institute and songwriting at Vanderbilt University's Blair School of Music. In today's episode, Kendra will be talking to us about how and what she perceives art to be and also how she has evolved in her art and managed to keep up with changes and the uncertainties in the current environment. Listen in! Social Media Links: https://www.kendraandthebunnies.com  https://www.instagram.com/kenbunny/  https://twitter.com/kenbunny  https://www.facebook.com/kendraandthebunnies  https://www.tiktok.com/@kendraandthebunnies?lang=en I think I was four years old when mum took me to the local downtown theater and had me audition. [2:46] I started doing professional vocal lessons, professional dancing, and acting lessons which became my everything. [3:13] I would go down to the theater several times a week and acted and learned all the songs and made friends. [3:20] Later on, I got into sports too but pretty much my entire life has been about acting, theater, and the arts. [3:32] Later on, in high school, I got into rock and roll music and philosophical questioning and spirituality, guitar and poetry too which has played a big part in my career. [3:41] I feel like art is the extension of my expression. [4:22] I would go through these experiences and make them part of my memory and that is where the song comes in. [5:10] 2020 was a total surprise. I had some tours booked but had to shift my mindset and postpone all the events. [7:23] I however decided to go ahead and switch to all online since I was already very active on social media and I had live-streamed a little bit. [8:15] I live-streamed over 150 shows last year and partnered with venues across the country and did a virtual live stream tour concert with people all over the country. [8:30] For people that were really creative about doing this, you might you probably reached audiences you wouldn't have. [8:55] I started to be known as ‘the live stream person' and so I got a lot of opportunities from people just by word of mouth because I was consistently showing up. [9:02] I am now doing a little bit of professional live streaming where I've been signed on by an agency to help grow another platform. [9:13] It gave us a reason to put a pause button on things and think and so a lot of my songs and moments came in particular from being at home experiencing this year. [9:52] I will talk about the song ‘Self-love Proclamation' since you talked about it earlier which I was recently nominated for three Josie awards. [11:00] ‘Self-love proclamation' is co-written with a lot of people in Nashville and is all about just ripping off the band-aid and saying this is who I am and I'm going to love myself for who I am and that journey to finding ourselves is evident in the song. [11:15] Commercial Break. [11:40] Song teaser [12:50] There are so many different things that come to mind, the first thing would be the healing element to art. [15:01] When we can express ourselves, we can let go of different things that we've been through. [15:08] I work sometimes with this nonprofit based in Los Angeles, called artists for trauma and is where people who have PTSD, physical, mental, veterans, emotional, spiritual healing, come together to do art and I think that encapsulates what art can do for us. [15:14] It's done that for me personally, just like dealing with, you know, different racing thoughts, or whatever goes on in my life, I'm able to channel that into the guitar or into a poem or lyrics, and let it go. [15:35] The next thing would be the cohesion of community thought that can be showcased through an event. [16:09] It is also a really good way to start conversations in a way that is accommodating to different perspectives. [17:16] Sometimes I think about how there's there is art written about the previous history, but then I realize that we are creating history every day. [18:31] I'm really excited to see people start to go back to concert venues and have those shared experiences because we've craved being together in those shared experiences. [18:58] It still may take a while but I think we're going to appreciate it even more now. [19:10] I watched a lot of live streams with different artists and put on a lot of different live streams with different artists. [20:02] The one thing that I've been going back to over and over right now is, only you know. [22:08] We can take advice and we can listen to other people and we can listen for clues from the universe but at the end of the day, it's about our own perspective and how we filter in. [22:14] This means this only we know our true north and our true path. [22:40] …………………………………………………………………………………… Thank You to our August Sponsor! How does a young rock artist crack today's music code of formulaic beats & electronia? 1st, he must have a disobedient spirit that can surpass an industry saturated by computerized music; next he must obtain enough cultural significance like rockers from the past & add in sincere, stirring passion. And Griffin's “no excuses” rock act delivers it all! He doesn't fall in line with what's already out there. Instead, he's created his own retro rock sound his “GrifFANS” live for. Griffin's stage experience started at 8 years of age & has continued with a full cycle of alternating years learning to play each instrument of rock. And he's played hundreds of shows: with Disney artist Zendaya across the country & Canada, The House of Blues, The Granada, The Gas Monkey, Gilley's, Lava Cantina, Westfield Presents London, Legacy Hall, just to name a few. At the age of 13, he won the Texas 10 under 20 Guitar contest at the Dallas International Guitar Festival. In 2016 & 2017, Griffin won 3 categories at London's Fab Charts Awards (Best Male Artist, Best Video & Best Song). He was also seen on THE VOICE. Then, in 2018, Griffin won Indie Guitarist of the Year in London; he also received 3 Josie Award nominations (Artist of the Year, Entertainer of the Year & Vocalist of the Year). Griffin was also asked to join the prestigious BROTHERHOOD of the GUITAR and represent Music Man Guitars, Ernie Ball Strings & Taylor Acoustic Guitars. That same year, he also scooped up FHR Radio Entertainment's RISING STAR award for Male Artist & was nominated again by the Fab Charts, the Josie Awards, Radio WigWam Awards & Indie Star Radio Awards. Griffin was also nominated for the highest designation an artist can receive from the Texas State legislature, “Texas State Artist – State Musician”. Griffin also earned a GOLDEN TICKET to Hollywood on American Idol & received high praise from Katy Perry & Lionel Richie for his level of talent & musicianship. The release of Griffin's debut album, “Believe It”, gave the world their 1st taste of Griffin's style of rock & roll – raw, retro & remarkable! From the powerful ballad “Some Kind of Love Song” to his rock anthem “Believe It”, every note that is sung and sound that is heard was performed by Griffin. And his promise to “KEEP ROCK ALIVE” continues with the early 2020 release of “Lead Me” and the recent release of his latest song, a ballad, called “Heart Full of Love”, which is already charting in Australia & the UK. 2021 is set to reveal the latest chapter in Griffin's journey as he unleashes his band, The Real Rock Revolution, and a slew of singles that will rock your socks off! You’d be hard-pressed to find a musician as authentic as Richard Lynch, whose traditional country music fully embodies his hay-raising, farm-dwelling lifestyle. An all-American, blue collar country man, Lynch has poured his heart and soul into the countless chart-topping hits he and his band have produced. His music is 100% real country, evoking some of the great classics who influenced him, like Keith Whitley. Conway Twitty, and George Strait. For three decades and counting, Lynch has written, sung, and performed his songs with passion and dedication, building himself up into an independent country music sensation. While his musical roots are grounded in pure country, his songs also showcase elements of western swing, honky tonk and outlaw country. Living the life he sings about is what gives Richard Lynch the edge as a singer/songwriter. Richard is a hard working, personification of pure country. He has been a designer and builder of amazing barns, and as should be expected, he is an American farmer. His everyday life and paying his musical dues by performing at 100's of events & shows a year, all across the country, is that which shaped him into a one-of-a-kind performer. Richard's style is true and it carries into his live shows. Much like his music alone, a live performance of the Richard Lynch Band is something you feel. It's something you carry with you when you walk away. If country music is a gift that sustains in our lives wherever we go, Richard Lynch is the messenger. Lynch, based in Waynesville, Ohio, released his first full-length album, The Last of A Dying Breed, in 2013, and was nominated as Best Male Country Artist by the Independent Country Music Association in 2014. His most recent album is, a 12-track production that garnered critical acclaim, particularly for its first single and title track “ A Better Place”. The Lynch album was named the Pure Country Album of the Year by the Academy of Western Artists, while Lynch was declared Humanitarian of the Year, and his band named the Traditional Country Band of the Year at the 2015 Josie Awards. A Better Place was produced by renowned songwriter Billy Yates, and features the work of several talented musicians who have previously worked with artists including Garth Brooks, Tim McGraw, and Reba McEntire. In September Richard was named The 2017 Josie Awards Country Entertainer of The Year. Also, his self penned "We're American Proud" was named Song of The Year for Songs Saluting America. Recently Richard recorded a duet with country star Ronnie McDowell. The single, “Love Tattoo” is a moving tribute to our military veterans. The was released to rave reviews in January. Richard released his third studio album on April 1st, on Fence Row Records and he is already climbing the major radio charts. "Mending Fences" is an incredible 12 track project of pure country music. The title track, written by Lesley McDaniel, Fost Daniel, Jesse Daniel and Nick Hall is an outstanding example of what country music was meant to be. Like all great country songs, it comes with a story; "Good luck on the new album Richard. Mending Fences isn't the product of a fancy writer's room on music row. It was written in a barn, on an extremely cold northeast Alabama morning while sitting around an old homemade wood burning barrel heater. It's a legitimate country song and me and my co-writers are glad it found a legitimate country singer"........... Writer Nick Hall "Mending Fences" also includes a stunning, heart felt duet with the amazing Rhonda Vincent. On May 25, 2019 Lynch released his fourth studio album to rave reviews around the world. This release consists of twelve self-penned and stunning pure country tracks. One very special track is Another Honky Tonk Song which is classic country and features a duet with the amazing Leona Williams. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/pressplayinspired/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/pressplayinspired/support
